I highly recommend Amber for any dog sitting or dog walking needs, no matter the size or personality of your pup! I have a 110 lb lab mix and a 70 lb Great Pyrenees mix—both can be a handful at times—but Amber handled them with confidence and care. Her experience with larger breeds (including her own huskies) gave me peace of mind from the start. What truly impressed me was how she connected with my younger dog, who is very skittish and slow to warm up to new people. By the end of the week, not only had my pup warmed up to Amber—she was jumping on the bed and cuddling next to her, something she rarely even does with me or my husband. I was amazed! Amber also sent me photos of the dogs every day to keep me updated, which I really appreciated—it helped so much when I was missing them while away. Amber went above and beyond to make our dogs feel safe and loved while we were away. We’ll absolutely be booking with her again for future stays!

About: *Hello! My name is Jessica and I cannot wait to pet sit for you! I have roughly 15 years of experience with pet/house sitting. With me, you'll be able to enjoy vacation, spend time with family, or whatever it may be with reassurance and a sigh of relief knowing that your little furry family member is in good hands. *I started off many years ago cat sitting for 2 cats and one of them needed a lot of care including medication twice a day. Over the years, that led to dog sitting 2 dogs. Pretty soon, that family referred me to another family, they did the same, and next thing I know I had about 4 different families that I was sitting for. I recently took some time off, but I am ready to start again! *For my job, I start at midnight until usually 8:30am. At some point during the day, I do online college courses (I'm done with schooling at the end of this year), so that means I will be able to spend basically the entire day with your pet! *Not only will booking with me help you, but it also benefits me because I thoroughly enjoy being around animals. Where I live, I am not allowed pets so anytime I am able to help people and it so happens to involve an animal, I am happy! *For pricing, I'm willing to talk about it. I will work with you especially if you have any additional services that may need done like cleaning up your house, etc. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope you consider me when choosing a pet sitter. I work full time but start at midnight until 8:30am. That gives me the ability to be able to be at your house all day with your pet(s)! That means they won't be lonely while you're gone! In your house, I will give your dog all the comfort that it needs because I'm sure not having their owner around will be an adjustment at first. I am able to take your pet on as many walks as needed, follow whatever food schedule that is required, and have as much cuddle time as they let me! I would care for your pet with the mindset that this is a little family member and treat it with the kindness and respect all animals deserve and I never bring anyone else over to the client's house.

Kristie was a wonderful sitter for our mini labradoodle and our bunny! She stayed in our home for five nights while we were out of the country. From the first exchange of messages through the meet-and-greet and the pet-sitting itself, Kristie was very communicative and professional, and she clearly cared a lot about keeping our pets safe and happy. We came home to happy pets and a spotless house. This was our first time having Kristie sit, and we will definitely have her back when we need a sitter again. Our pets were in very good hands.

About: Hi! I'm a lifelong animal lover with years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of all kinds from rescues, seniors, puppies, and everything in between. I also have experience caring for cats and some smaller animals and reptiles. Feel free to ask me about your other pets and I’ll let you know honestly if I am able to provide care. I'd be a great fit if you're a detail-oriented or slightly worried/anxious pet parent who wants their routine followed to the letter, frequent updates, and someone who treats your home and family members with love and respect. Getting a routine right matters a lot to me. I ask lots of questions upfront and pay close attention to the small stuff: think feeding times, meds, favorite routes, comfort items, quirks, fears, or behaviors, because those details are what make a dog feel secure. I'd rather over-communicate than guess. I lived with and cared for a reactive dog for 13 years, so I know firsthand what it takes to help an anxious dog feel safe, and how to prevent conflict in the first place. All my dogs have been rescues, and I have a soft spot for dogs who need extra patience to warm up. I'm not a certified trainer, but I've spent years learning dog training, body language, and enrichment, and every interaction is rooted in positive reinforcement. I will require a meet and greet with your pet in advance of the first booking so they can become familiar with me, and so I can become familiar with their routine and needs. My schedule gives me plenty of flexibility to be present for your dog, whether that's extra walks, playtime, or just being around for company, and I'm happy to talk through what kind of availability works best for your pet! I work from home which allows me the flexibility to prioritize pet care in a way I wouldn’t be able to with a traditional office. This gives me the ability to keep anxious dogs company, breaks for play time, medication, cuddles or walks when they are needed, not when they can be fit in. I create a calm, secure environment where pets feel safe and comfortable. Whether in my home or theirs, I work on building trust by moving at each pet’s pace and honoring their boundaries. Safety is always my top priority, I supervise pets closely, follow all instructions carefully, and adapt to their unique needs. I keep spaces clean, hazard-free, and ensure pets have fresh water, proper food, and quiet resting spots. For reactive or anxious pets, I use gentle, low stress handling & positive reinforcement or redirecting to help them feel calm and supported. Every care plan is tailored specifically to your pet’s needs after we discuss what works best for them.

I respect the boundaries of any client, whether it be your pet's or your own! I promise to do my best to make you feel worry free while your furry friend is in my care! We had the absolute best experience with Kaylee as our dog and cat sitter! She took such amazing care of our pets and made being away from home completely stress-free. She sent us tons of pictures and regular updates, which we absolutely loved and really appreciated. It was clear from every update that our pets were happy, comfortable, and getting lots of love and attention. On top of being wonderful with our pets, Kaylee was incredibly respectful of our home. We came back to the house cleaner and neater than we left it, which was such a pleasant surprise! We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter and would 100% book Kaylee again in a heartbeat! We highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, caring, communicative, and responsible to watch their pets and home

FAQs for House Sitting - Crucible

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of September 2026, there are 1,150 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Crucible. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Crucible walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Crucible maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Crucible choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Crucible. On Rover:

  • 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 92% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
