I highly recommend Amber for any dog sitting or dog walking needs, no matter the size or personality of your pup! I have a 110 lb lab mix and a 70 lb Great Pyrenees mix—both can be a handful at times—but Amber handled them with confidence and care. Her experience with larger breeds (including her own huskies) gave me peace of mind from the start. What truly impressed me was how she connected with my younger dog, who is very skittish and slow to warm up to new people. By the end of the week, not only had my pup warmed up to Amber—she was jumping on the bed and cuddling next to her, something she rarely even does with me or my husband. I was amazed! Amber also sent me photos of the dogs every day to keep me updated, which I really appreciated—it helped so much when I was missing them while away. Amber went above and beyond to make our dogs feel safe and loved while we were away. We’ll absolutely be booking with her again for future stays!

About: I’ve taken care of my own dog since we got her 8 years ago. I’ve pet sat for many friends with dogs as small as miniature poodles to as big as labs. I can currently dog walk or pet sit anytime during week days. I am available during weekends for walking or pet sitting but overnight sitting needs to be scheduled in advance. :) I can do anything a client needs me to do in their home. This includes letting the pets outside, feeding them, playing with them, cleaning, etc. I do not offer to care for pets in my own home.

About: I lost my beagle baby girl a year and a half ago, and I would love to give your pet the same care and attention as her. I have experience walking, nail trimming, administering medication, and assisting with mobility issues. I love all animals and would happily welcome yours into my home. I am looking to provide dog walking/quick visit services on weekdays after my work, and boarding services on weekends when I’m off. While in my care, your pet will have my diligent attention and care. I have a big yard for running and playing. It is not fenced, but I can utilize tethers to give them room to move around under supervision. I will make it my top priority to love your pet and follow your care instructions.

Brianna was great. We needed a sitter sooner than originally planned for a last minute trip. Brianna was quick to change her meet and greet to accommodate us. I could tell she was conscientious as she came prepared with great questions, Then we had a family emergency and she was very patient as we figured out the logistics of our trip. She sent a photo everyday. She was willing to send more, but I told her it wasn't necessary. She texted me good questions and I could tell she was attentive to our dog. She left the house neat and clean. I would highly recommend her!

About: I have had dogs since I was 7 years old. I’ve had big dogs and little dogs. I currently have 2 dogs of my own and I foster through Cross Your Paws Rescue. I love dogs more than most people. I have dog sat in my own house as well as family and friends homes. I promise to care for your dog(s) as if they were my own! I currently work full time but my husband works from home so someone is almost always at home with the dogs. When we aren’t home, it’s only for dinner or a quick grocery run. We don’t like leaving our dogs for more than a couple hours. I have a fenced in back yard and 2 dogs that love to play! I also sometimes have foster dogs in my home but they are always fully vaccinated and spayed/neutered and always are dog friendly.

Jen and John were AMAZING! We’re so lucky we found them. So professional & communicative from the get go. We had such peace of mind while we were out of town knowing they were taking care of our pups. They sent us updates daily, were very responsive when we messaged and they took such great care of the dogs, even our old lady Betsey, who is A LOT of work. They stayed at our house for the week and also took such great care of our home. They even took out our trash, brought in our mail and cleaned & washed the bed linen before we arrived back home. 15 out of 10. Would 100% book with them again!!

We could not have had a better experience working with Jarett. It was our first long trip away from Oliver, and he went above and beyond not only to make sure Oliver was taken care of, but that we were updated often. Thanks to Jarett, we were able to relax on vacation and come home to a happy pup and our house exactly as we left it.

Natalie was AWESOME with Grey! She came to meet him a few times, before she stayed with him, to insure he was comfortable with her. She was very good with Grey. She played with him more than we do, I am sure. She sent us pictures and videos multiple times a day. She contacted me if something arose that I had not mentioned or explained about his idiosyncrasies. He loves her, and so do we. We were concerned that he would want to go with her, when she left / went home from the stay!! That is how much she did for him.

She kept our puppy entertained and played with in our home and yard while we were away for a 3 day trip. Highly recommend her and look forward to having her sit for us again!

Whether your dog needs a brisk neighborhood run, a fun hike, or just a playful game of fetch, I’m always ready to match their energy! I am a future law student, so you can count on my professionalism, reliability, and dedication to keeping your pet safe. :) I’m pretty flexible so I can take care of your pups on short or long term notice! About: Hi! I’m Elizabeth, a lifelong animal lover based in the Pittsburgh area. I understand that pets are family, and when you leave them with someone else you want the same care, attention, and safety you’d give them yourself. I spent 13 years with my sweet mini poodle mix Theo, who taught me how much love and personality can live in one small dog. Because of him, I’m especially attentive to each pet’s unique quirks, routines, and comfort needs. Whether your dog loves long walks, couch snuggles, or a consistent routine, I’m happy to adapt to what makes them feel most at home. I’m dependable, communicative, and I’ll send regular updates and photos so you always know how your pet is doing. Your pet will be treated with the same patience, kindness, and care I would want for my own. I currently work from home and have complete flexibility with my job to ensure your pet gets as much attention, walks, and love throughout the day as they need. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I follow your pet’s routine closely, provide a calm environment, and ensure they are always supervised, secure, and well cared for. I will always send you updates and let you know what we are up to on our days together.

FAQs for House Sitting - Arensburg

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 1,136 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Arensburg. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Arensburg walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Arensburg maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Arensburg choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Arensburg. On Rover:

  • 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 92% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
