About: I have taken care of countless animals in my life. I truly adore them. I've raised llamas, mini donkeys, chickens, dogs, cats, hedgehogs, macaws, fish..to name a few! I believe animals are family. They enrich our lives and bring us happiness! I am currently retired and available frequently for boarding and/or daycare. I clean my yard daily, so no waste is evident. It is very important to me that your dog has all shots and is on a flea/tick preventative medication. I have a fenced yard, a doggie door that leads to the yard and a friendly labradoodle. I also have a cat, but she stays in her "own" room.

I lived with and cared for a reactive dog for 13 years, so I know firsthand what it takes to help an anxious dog feel safe, and how to prevent conflict in the first place. All my dogs have been rescues, and I have a soft spot for dogs who need extra patience to warm up. I'm not a certified trainer, but I've spent years learning dog training, body language, and enrichment, and every interaction is rooted in positive reinforcement. I will require a meet and greet with your pet in advance of the first booking so they can become familiar with me, and so I can become familiar with their routine and needs. My schedule gives me plenty of flexibility to be present for your dog, whether that's extra walks, playtime, or just being around for company, and I'm happy to talk through what kind of availability works best for your pet! I work from home which allows me the flexibility to prioritize pet care in a way I wouldn’t be able to with a traditional office. This gives me the ability to keep anxious dogs company, breaks for play time, medication, cuddles or walks when they are needed, not when they can be fit in. I create a calm, secure environment where pets feel safe and comfortable. Whether in my home or theirs, I work on building trust by moving at each pet’s pace and honoring their boundaries. Safety is always my top priority, I supervise pets closely, follow all instructions carefully, and adapt to their unique needs. I keep spaces clean, hazard-free, and ensure pets have fresh water, proper food, and quiet resting spots. For reactive or anxious pets, I use gentle, low stress handling & positive reinforcement or redirecting to help them feel calm and supported. Every care plan is tailored specifically to your pet’s needs after we discuss what works best for them.

“Kristen came in clutch! We made a last-minute decision to extend our vacation and booked an Airbnb in the small town of Cadiz where sitter selection was sparse. Kristen responded to my request immediately and was willing to drive 30 minutes after work to take care of Bogey. The visit was flawless, she followed directions perfectly, and we returned to a happy dog. His bully looks were no issue for her either. I also appreciated the pics she sent. About: I have experience with cats, Dogs, birds, and even pet rats! I treat every animal as if it were my own and love on all with my whole heart. I work full time. My days vary and I have every other weekend off. However, I can make adjustments as needed to fit your schedule to the best of my ability. I own my own home.
