“She took such good care of our baby, he made new friends and felt safe the whole day. She sent me updates to make sure we felt comfortable. I am so grateful to have someone like her take care of someone so special to us. Thank you so much!!”

“My first time using rover and Samantha was so great to work with. Easy to communicate with and my pup had the best day with her! He was well taken care of and enjoyed playing in her big back yard. Will absolutely use Samantha again!!”

“Cynthia did a fantastic job of taking care of our dog. She sent updates and even video of our dog playing outside and looking very happy. We will definitely use her services again. Thank you for taking such good care of Golde!”

“Jen and her family are amazing and I think our pup Nila would go to their house to visit every day if she could. Nila initially had some anxiety from some bad past experiences when Jen first started watching her, and Jen was incredible at helping her feel safe and gain confidence back. And her own dog Mia does such a good job of respecting Nila’s boundaries but also encouraging her to play and get out of her comfort zone. Jen treats every dog with so much love and care as if it was her own, and goes above and beyond any expectations we had.”

“This was an amazing experience! I needed to make a trip to Ankeny and couldn’t leave my dog home for that long of a time so I hopped on this app and found her, so glad I did! He was a little scared at first but shortly made himself at home. Good communication and she sent photos! Made me feel good 💕I will be contacting Meagan again!”

“Beth is AWESOME!!!!!!! Beth was so welcoming from the start! I had a very unusual need as I was traveling across the state and needing a dog sitter for just a few hours so I could take my wife on a side trip that didn't accommodate dogs and she not only graciously accommodated my plan but she was willing to switch gears at the drop of a hat to change things from one planned time to a different planned time! This is not to say that she should be able and or expected to do this all the time, just that she is awesome and helped make our perfectly special trip become an awesome trip!! And the dogs clearly loved her and felt VERY comfortable with her!!! Thank you Beth!”

About: I have experience with a wide variety of dogs, but especially with specials needs, senior, and small and large dogs. My old fur-baby, Jack, was special needs (born with scoliosis) and I did the majority of care for him. He lived to be 17 and a half. I work from home with a relatively flexible schedule. During the weekdays I am available for daycare, pop-ins, walks, and house-sitting. On the weekends I am available for boarding and overnights. I live in an apartment but am very active and can ensure plenty of outside time if desired. My complex also has a large fenced-in dog park area. I have one dog who is very friendly and can keep your dog company and play with. I am available to go to your place as well if prefered.

“Katie is a fantastic sitter ! She was very patient with my pup ? it was his first time staying in a stranger’s home. When I came to pick him up he looked so happy and energetic! She sent me multiple updates with pictures throughout the day which eased my nerves and worries. I will be using her again!!!”

About: I’ve cared for dogs since middle school and became a proud dog mom over 5 years ago. My two miniature dachshunds are my whole world; I truly couldn’t imagine life without them. I’ll treat your pups like my own, giving them all the love, care, and attention they deserve as one of their new best friends. Reach out to give your fur babies the highest level of care, straight from the heart ❤️ I am currently in between jobs and have a lot of free time on my hands! Aside from appointments and interviews, I can make most times work for whatever kind of pet care you need! I have a fenced yard and two friendly pups to keep yours company. Whether your pets stay with me or I come to you, they’ll get my full attention and loving care, so you can relax knowing they’re safe and happy!

About: I've had animals my entire life! I have experience in puppy training, senior care, post surgery care, dogs of all sizes, bathing, nail trims for cats and dogs, and administering medication. I'm currently working part time, so I have a lot of flexibility with my schedule. I'm available during the day, weekends and most evenings too! I have a fenced in yard with lots of room to run around. I also live right by a park with a nice walking path. My current dog is allowed on our couches, sleeps in our bed, and doesn't need a crate. I love to take my dog on walks and play tug of war, or play fetch with him!

About: I have grown up with dogs and dog sit for many families. I have helped with different types of breeds, ages, and needs of many dogs over the years. I currently work in Des Moines during the week but have great availability on evenings and weekends. If your dog is fine staying home alone during the day if they stay with us, or when we stay at your home please consider us! We live on the third floor of an apartment complex here in Ankeny with elevator access! We have a patio that in warmer months we can always put per pads down if needed. Both me and my boyfriend are big dog lovers and will create a fun and safe environment for any and all pets. We do live in an apartment complex so if your pet needs lots of room to roam, our two bedroom apartment might not be a great fit.

About: I have lots of experience with dogs of all ages (my corgi, Vinnie had some back and hip issues at the end of his life) and all sizes. I grew up with labs and had my corgi for nearly 10 years. I have helped friends and family care for their dogs over the past 20 years. While I have not cared for strangers’ dogs, I love every pet I come into contact with like family and treat them as such. I have also recently volunteered with the ARL which gave me experience caring for many different breeds and varying needs. I work from home and would care for your pet throughout the day! I am willing to do long and short walks, or just play with your pet! Playing, cuddles, walks, potty breaks, whatever they need! I am very good at recognizing the tells for various dogs. I can usually tell when they need to go outside, need water or are anxious. I will adjust to what the dogs need and am a very open communicator. My house is clean, and safe for pets. I do have stairs in my home, but am willing to work with dogs who need additional support.

About: After saying goodbye to our beloved Brady of 14 years, we are now empty nesters who have been dog parents for 36+ years. We currently have two "grandogs" who we continue to love like family. We know how hard it is to find others to love your dog like you do. We would love to provide that love and care during times you are needing to be away from them. We are retired, very active grandparents to 5 kiddos. We enjoy walks and playing outdoors, and would love to include a dog in both. Potty breaks have always been a routine thing for us, and something we are mindful of even on a lazy day inside. I'm a firm believer in a dog always having access to clean water, including those hot days when they are outdoors. Because we quite often have our grandkids around, we would want to ensure that your dog is comfortable around children as well as safe around children. We will honor requirements you may have for crating your dog, but we prefer to allow them to have free roam of the home. We do not have a fenced in back yard. However, neighbors on both sides of us our fenced in, and there is a 50+ foot patch of prairie grass behind our yard. Your dog will not be outside off a leash without us, if he/she is not well trained. We do have a large, covered deck with a gate to provide additional outdoor opportunities for your dog.

About: I’ve grown up around dogs my entire life and truly consider them family. I’m a teacher with summers off, which gives me plenty of time to give your pup the attention and love they deserve. I have experience with dogs of all ages, including senior pets—my own dog is 13 and gentle with other animals. Whether your dog needs playtime, cuddles, or calm companionship, I’m here to make them feel right at home. Since I’m a teacher on summer break, I’m home most of the day and can easily build my routine around caring for pets. Walks, feeding, playtime, and cuddle breaks are naturally spaced throughout the day. I enjoy keeping a calm, consistent environment, and I make sure pets feel comfortable and cared for just like they’re part of the family. In my home, I create a calm, safe, and pet-friendly space where your dog can relax and feel at ease. I stick to your pet’s usual routine as much as possible—whether that means specific feeding times, regular walks, or play and rest schedules. I give lots of love and attention throughout the day and keep a close eye on how they’re feeling. My own senior dog is very laid-back and used to sharing the space. If I’m in your home, I treat it with respect and make sure your pet feels comfortable and cared for while you’re away.

“I am writing to highly recommend Melissa as a pet sitter and dog walker on Rover. From a very young age, she has had a deep love for animals and has always had pets in her life. Her compassion, kindness, and gentle nature make her a natural caregiver for animals. She treats her own dog as a cherished member of the family, always prioritizing its health, happiness, and well-being. Daily walks, playtime, and a consistent routine are just part of how she shows her love and responsibility as a pet owner. Her husband also shares her passion for animals. Together, they create a loving and active environment, and their dog benefits from regular exercise, attention, and companionship. Any pet in her care will be treated with the same affection and dedication she gives her own. I am confident she would be a wonderful addition to the Rover community.”
