About: I have my own 3 cats that I love more than anything. I've had them all since they were kittens so I've personally cared for cats since they were 5 weeks old. The oldest cat I've cared for was 13 and I know that the thing senior cats need most is love and comfort for their retirement. I've been taking care of cats for the longest. “Nejra gave our two cats wonderful care for the six days she cared for them. One of the cats is diabetic, so Nejra had to stop twice a day approximately 12 hours apart to feed them and give one cat her insulin. Asking for care at 6:30 AM and again at 6:30 PM is a big ask, but Nejra showed up each day at those times! Their litter boxes were cleaned and Nejra provided pictures and details on how they were eating twice a day. She even took the time to give them pets each time she was here. I highly recommend Nejra and I will be using her service again! i”

About: Hello! I’m a full-time high school teacher who loves animals… but my own dog passed away last year and for some reason I’m just not ready to get a new one. But I love dogs!! So, in the meantime, I am getting my pet love by dog-sitting. I mostly set this up to do over the summer when I was off work and super flexible, but I’ve decided to keep doing it some—with an emphasis on weekends and public holidays when I’m not at work :) I can do some weekdays, but we’d need to chat about it first. I have gotten a lot of satisfaction and enjoyment out of this so far (which is truly why I’m doing this) and plan to continue this until that stops (or until I decide to adopt a new furry friend who might need most of my attention). I grew up with dogs and have had a variety of breeds, shapes, sizes over the decades. I dog-sat during college and during grad school for friends, professors, and a few strangers I connected with on an older website (I feel like it was called care-dot-com for anyone who’s old enough to remember that). As someone who is a “bit” older, I’m reliable and have very little social life!! Perfect for you and your pet! I’m also super motivated to make your dog as happy as I can! I miss that aspect of having a pet—you take care of them and they keep you sane in this crazy world. Update: During the school year, I’m most available on weekends but can of course provide care in the afternoon and evening on a school/week day… just not as much as I can on a weekend or holiday :) I have a wire fenced yard (not a privacy fence). It’s not the biggest but I’ve also had a smaller yard! There are neighboring dogs, as well, so keep that in mind. As mentioned, no dog at the moment. I’m very careful with dogs in terms of behavior. I was raised to understand that the person is responsible for the dog’s behavior. This means paying attention, shortening the lead when needed, helping the dog feel secure, crossing the street, etc.

I have been volunteering with the ARL since 2005. I have had 30+ foster dogs through them as well. I just love animals. I do have weekends blocked but just ask about availability! I am retired. I enjoy going for walks with dogs and depending on the dog spending time outside in my fenced in backyard. I have a 6 foot fence. Your dog will have the ability to be part of our family and our family pets are on our furniture. We do separate our home animals, fosters and house guests at night. The "regulars" get to sleep in our beds while our guests get other accommodations. It makes for better harmony for us. Because we foster on a regular basis our animals are very used to different dogs coming into our home. Our home is pretty quiet and relaxing.

I am an anxious dog parent and Lily was a bit anxious, too, for the first couple days, but Amy sent me daily updates and pictures and was genuinely concerned/caring for Lily's welfare. Lily had a fun time with their family and their dog Duke (after she warmed up to all of them.) We highly recommend Amy and Casey and their family and will be calling them again when we need lodging for Lily!”

“Jessica took care of my dog Iommi for a long weekend while I traveled out of state for my brother's wedding. It was my first time leaving Iommi and Jessica was the perfect person to leave her with. I was admittedly anxious about leaving Iommi for the first time, but as soon as I arrived the morning of drop-off Jessica made me feel 100% at ease. She took care of Iommi like she was her own and I know Iommi had a great time staying with Jessica and her family and playing with her dog Rip. “Colleen was great and Peppa loved her! She kept in touch with pictures and video and took Peppa for rides and walks and snuggled with her when fireworks were going off for the 4th of July. She is super kind and thoughtful and also has a fenced in yard, which Peppa loved. We loved Colleen’s vibe and wish she would be our personal dog sitter. Peppa is probably thinking she wants to go back and that she had a fun vacation and a welcome break from us. 😛”

“Amanda spoiled our dog all weekend! Played catch and cuddled and let him take a nap in her lap (he's almost 100 lbs so that was above and beyond the call of duty)! Another plus is there were 4-5 large dogs for Osborne to play with in Amanda's fenced in backyard so he came home happily exhausted. Amanda was extremely flexible in drop off/pick up times which was greatly appreciated as we were heading out of town for the weekend. She also carefully monitored his food so he only ate his food and didn't sneak other dog food and get an upset stomach. Highly recommend Amanda!”
“I think Missy has got to be the best sitter my dog Bella has ever had. Not only did Missy welcome the challenge of a spicy chihuahua but she mastered it. By the end she let her hold her! And if any of you are owners of little anxious dogs you know this is a big deal!! Missy also did a great job communicating with us and sending tons of photos which we appreciated. Having Bella stay with Missy made us feel at ease, allowing us to enjoy our trip to the fullest knowing Bella was in good hands. Would highly recommend booking with Missy and I’m sure Bella looks forward to her next visit!”

After the meet and greet I knew we had found the right place and I had absolutely no worries leaving her there the night before we left town.
