“Marti is fantastic! We had a meet and greet couple of weeks ago. That sealed the deal for me. She had a calming effect on my 16 month old Maltipoo. Missy snuggled up to Marti and trusted her. Marti offered to drive me and pick me up from my eye doctor appointment . It worked out great. Missy was such a good girl riding in Marti’s car. Very pleasant, stress free experience for us. Marti is a kind, smart lady. Her past experience is evident. She will watch Missy again in December at my house for a weekend. So happy to have found Marti.”

“Rachel was a gift, I wish I found her sooner. From the meet & greet to the house sitting she was super easy to communicate with. Our dog loved her and followed her all over the house (sorry Rachel!). I would absolutely contact her again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for some help.”

“Haley was an amazing dog sitter for my dog, Penny! From the beginning, communication was clear, friendly, and prompt. She kept me updated throughout the stay with messages and photos, which gave me so much peace of mind. She arrived on time, followed all instructions perfectly, and left everything spotless. Penny clearly loved spending time with her. I could tell she was well cared for and happy when I got back. I wouldn't hesitate to book Haley again.”

“We had a very last minute trip that Nina was amazing in accommodating! She is so sweet and communicative, always making sure we knew our dog was safe and having fun while we were gone. We will definitely be booking with her again!”

“She was very attentive to my dogs and did a great job occupying my high energy german shepherds. She sent plenty of photos and kept me updated. I'll definitely be asking her back in the future”

“Tatyjana was fantastic. She gave us daily updates and was quick to respond. It was obvious she pampered the dogs while she was here; she even got them to tolerate nail trimmings! When we got home, the dogs were happy, the house was clean, the chickens were taken care of. We will absolutely hire her again.”

“Jonathan watched my dog Werewolf while I was away for four days. He cleaned up after two accidents in the house and took him for multiple walks per day. He kept me updated with tons of photos and took excellent care of him. I will definitely use him again.”

“Abigail was amazing with my 3 crazy pups! We needed someone last minute to watch our dogs for our wedding and Abigail did a meet and greet and my dogs loved her! My boy is very anxious and ended up loving her! We really appreciated her and will be using her in the future anytime we need someone!”

“Nicole did an excellent job in our home for an extended stay of 13 days with our 2 dogs. She was great with daily pupdates and pictures-which were greatly appreciated because we missed our babies. She dispensed meds several times a day to our senior German Shepherd and was able to keep our very active, lovable, snuggly -yet sometimes naughty Whippet puppy busy. I knew from the minute I met her that she was a great fit for us and I’d use her every time we need someone to stay or drop in for us!”

“Sarah was absolutely AMAZING. We received picture updates every day! Our boy fell in love with her and enjoyed her company so much he almost didn't want her to leave! Will definitely book with her again in the future”

“Professional and talented house sitter! We had to leave town last minute and Elisabeth was here on schedule to meet and care for our dogs. She made record progress with our one who can be reactive to strangers, and kept them on their routine while we were away. Thanks and we will definitely rebook in the future.”

“I was out of town for the entire day and Mary put me at ease with her drop in visits. She sent pictures and kept in touch numerous times. It was nice to know my furry friend was well cared for 🥰”

About: My mother had a boarding company so I spent a lot of my childhood helping care for all the doggos. I have also volunteered at numerous shelters & farm sanctuaries & have helped care for even more than just cats & dogs. I also have an 8 year old chocolate lab & 2 five year old kitties myself that I love & care for every day. I am currently working part time, with availability anytime after 4 pm Monday through Thursday! In the next 3 weeks my availability will open up a little bit more! I was raised around both cats & dogs & have a very good understanding of how to read both animals. I have a very soft calm aura as well as a lot of love & patience to build trust with the fur babies.
“Judith treated our pup, Rayne, with all the attention she has been craving since our son was born! She also treated our elusive outdoor cat and many plants with the utmost care. We will definitely rebook Judith if she is available the next time we need a house sitter for our fur and plant babies!!”

“Joey was fabulous! We set up a pre setting visit, and our dogs were immediately smitten with Joey! That set the stage for an amazing engagement with Joey. He sent daily updates and the cutest photos with clever & funny comments! Joey is a natural with dogs & we would highly recommend him!!!”

“Haley was absolutely incredible! Our dogs have been sat before and when we come home they seem to be in a funk. But with Haley, it felt as though our pups had been so well taken care of! Not to mention our home was so cared for as well. She was very communicative, and open! Highly highly recommend her! She’s just lovely!”

“Forest is a great sitter for our pets. We were fostering a dog last minute and Forest was able to take that on unexpectedly. He was super patient with a dog that was totally new to us and pretty fearful. He sends lots of updates and pictures. We appreciated his help tons!”
“Shawna was a life saver! After learning of my MIL’s passing a week before Spring Break, let’s just say, we were having a hard time finding a pet/house sitter. We met Shawna on Tuesday and she was staying at our house with our 2 anxious boys Thursday night. Shawna did everything right making sure the boys were taken well care of and even wanted to vacuum & change sheets in order for our home to be ready for our return. She went above and beyond and we will definitely plan any future trips with Shawna!”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Crittenden walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Crittenden maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Crittenden choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 87% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
