About: Although we are new to the area, we are definitely not new to caring for dogs. We recently purchased the well-known dog kennel in Smithsburg and are in the process of restoring it. Parts of the kennel are already fully functional, and we’re excited to begin welcoming dogs while we continue improving the property. It’s a place many people in the community already know, and we feel lucky to be able to carry on its history. Dogs have always been a big part of my life. I grew up with them and honestly can’t remember a time when I didn’t love being around them. That same love has followed me into adulthood. Over the years I’ve naturally become the neighborhood go-to pet sitter. Friends, neighbors, and family have trusted me with their pets for years, and I always care for them the same way I care for my own dogs — with patience, attention, and lots of affection. One of the things I’m most proud of is the therapy work I did with my dog. I trained and certified her as a therapy dog, and for 10 years we volunteered together in hospitals and nursing homes. That experience actually inspired my career path, and I went on to become a certified occupational therapist. My sweet therapy dog has since passed away after a long and wonderful life. She was incredibly special to me. I’m now starting that journey again with my new puppy, Merango, and hope to continue therapy work in the future. Right now I’m taking some time away from my occupational therapy work to focus on renovating and restarting the kennel. It’s something I’ve always dreamed about doing, and I’m excited to bring new life to a place that so many people in the community already know. I also have experience caring for senior dogs and dogs with medical needs, including giving medications like insulin injections. Our property has large outdoor fenced runs that give dogs plenty of space to move around and enjoy the fresh air in a quiet farm setting. injections. I’m currently focused on renovating and restoring the kennel property, which allows me to be home most of the day and provide consistent supervision and care for the dogs staying with us. We are early risers in our home and typically start the day around 7 AM with potty breaks and breakfast. Mornings are usually spent outside enjoying the property — going on walks around our 20-acre farm or spending time in the fenced runs while I do morning chores. Around lunchtime everyone, animals included, usually settles in for a quiet rest period. I check that everyone has fresh water and food if needed before nap time. In the mid-afternoon we head back outside for more activity. Depending on the dog, this may include running in the fenced fields, exploring the property on a guided walk, or simply relaxing in the fresh air. Dinner is around 6 PM, followed by a calm evening inside. We finish the day with a final potty break and check-in before bedtime around 9 PM. My goal is to give dogs a peaceful farm stay with plenty of space to move, fresh air, and a consistent routine so they feel comfortable and relaxed while they’re away from home I understand how much trust it takes to leave your dog in someone else’s care. When I first started using Rover for my own dogs, I remember feeling nervous too. I always appreciated sitters who kept me updated, so I make a point to do the same. I’m happy to send photos and updates so you can see how your dog is doing and feel confident they’re happy and well cared for. On our property, dogs have access to spacious individual indoor/outdoor kennel runs where they can relax comfortably. We also have several large fenced areas where dogs can safely run, play, and explore. Safety is always my top priority, and dogs are supervised during outdoor time to make sure everyone stays happy and secure

Dogs are never left unsupervised together, and all interactions are based on temperament and comfort level. I have experience reading body language and preventing issues before they arise, creating a calm and controlled environment. At night, all dogs are safely crated to ensure proper rest and security. My goal is to provide a space where your dog feels safe, understood, and well cared for at all times.

During the summer, I am home most days of the week. I am a full time teacher so I am off during the summer. Therefore I am very reliable and flexible with times. About: Hi! My name is April. After growing up around dogs, my husband and I decided to get our first dog-a Hurricane Katrina rescue-as soon as we got married! Having a love for dogs evolved into a partnership with a local rescue in which I've volunteered for transport, adoption home visits, adoption follow up, and fostering. 3 dogs later-I enjoy walking the dogs around the farm, car rides(with drive thrus for pup treats of course!), and cuddling on the couch(our dogs know how to nap!). My friends know that my house is the "dog house" and that their dogs are welcome to come have fun and hang out too! I tend to be the "go to" friend when someone needs a pet sitter:) I specialize in special needs and geriatric care.

About: I grew up always having a pet in my childhood home, cats and dogs, and have much experience taking care of my own and others pets. In high school my main way of earning money was taking care of my aunts 2 German shepherds on a daily basis after school. Since then I have pet sat countless friends and families fur babies. I have been a pet mom since I was 18 (12 years) and now have 4 of my own, 2 dogs and 2 cats. I am also a (human) mom of a 1 year old girl. I have cared for 160 lb Rottweilers to 2 week old kittens to horses, chickens and goats. During the week I am the sole caregiver of my 1 year old daughter and she will be with me while taking care of your pets. She has been exposed to our animals since birth and has learned how to interact with our dogs and cats. She is gentle and kind to animals. Child friendly dogs and cats are a must. My home sits on a 1/2 acre and I have a fenced in yard. My pets have free range of my home apart from our bedrooms which stay closed while we are not in them. I do have the option to keep my pets separated from yours if that’s preferred or needed.

About: I have taken care of my own dog for 8+ years and have pet sitted for my family members animals all throughout my life. I love taking care of any animal and one day aspire to do it as a vet!!! Right now I work door dash so my schedule is always open and can work around anything. Unless on vacation I can be available almost 24/7. I have a small elderly dog myself that gets along with other dogs and bothers no one. I will follow all directions and necessities that you give me to take care of your pets. I will make sure your pets are well taken care of the whole time I’m with them as I will probably be more interested in them than they are in me.

About: Hi Tiffany here ready to start my pet care journey with you!!! I ran an inhome emergency placement for abandoned animals for the past 3 yrs and absolutely love animals!!!! I would get them fixed/shots and find them homes. Looking for more short term care now. I'd love to help out with your furry friends while you are away. I have 2 children that LOVE animals so any pets I watch must be ok with kids. All guests must be curret on Rabies and Flea/tick before being dropped off. I only watch house trained pups.. They will go out every 2hrs from 7:30am -1am you can get lots of pics and text any time. While here your pets are my pets and will be loved on as such 😍🐕🐈‍⬛💘

I have professionally cared for animals for 15 years. I have worked in Petcare in a pet store caring for the in-store animals: fish, reptiles, amphibians, birds, pockets pets, insects. I have volunteered at an animal shelter. I have worked my adult career in a primary veterinary clinic, and a specialty veterinary referral hospital. I have lots of experience with cats and dogs. I have pet sat for many friends and family. I have personally rescued several senior pets- cats and dogs, and I am very comfortable with medication administration, physical ambulatory assistance, and incontinence support. I have established and maintained many personal aquarium & terrariums of my own, as well as for family & friends. I have my weekends open for time to spend and company to give for a sweet pet in need of some special attention while their owners take care of some things. I work full time at a veterinary referral hospital and am available Saturday-Sunday (all day), and currently Monday & Tuesday Evenings. I live with a senior dog, and 2 cats. They are all spayed/neutered, nails trimmed, and fully vaccinated. My cats keep to themselves, and my senior Cavvie, Frannie LOVES the company of other dogs!!❤️ I have a fenced in back yard, and I am only a minute walk away from a big community park.

About: I have been around animals my whole life and truly think of them as family! I got my first dog at 5 years old and it was my job to take care of him everyday, give him baths,etc. I started watching other peoples animals when I was 14. I have done stop by walks/potty breaks since the very beginning and overnight stays since I was 18. I have experience with insulin shots, and other forms of medications. Pets are family members too, and they should be well taken care of! While you are away they will be loved and cared for as if they were my own. I look forward to meeting you and your furry best friend! I have a full time job working as a realtor, so your furry best friend will have a constant companion staying with them! I work mainly off my laptop unless I have showings set up, so your best friend will get all the cuddles, and love they can possibly get! While I personally do not offer in house boarding- I do have people I can refer you to who are absolutely wonderful, and who my parents trust their fur babies with! . Ask me for their info! I work full time as a real estate agent, so most of my time in doing work from my laptop! There are occasional showings and meetings that I will attend, but they are not long- few hours at the max. Because of my flexible schedule I can make your fur babies feel loved and comfortable while you are gone! I do not currently accept home services in my own home. We have a cat who does not do well with other animals as she gets scared very easily. So, at this time, no home boarding will be offered. This will be updated if anything changes.
