About: I've been taking care of my own animals my whole life. Neighbors, friends, and family started hiring me for pet care when I was still in high school. I love the stark difference in pet personalities and learning how each of them likes to be cared for. Examples of my past & present clientele: - A family with 7 chihuahuas of varying ages and levels of crazy - A brand new hyperactive Bernedoodle puppy whom I still care for regularly (she's 4 now!) - A sweet lab who liked long, slow walks and bananas - A moody cat who could not care less about me (I have slowly earned the blessing of giving head pats to them now) - A tortoise who inspires me to slow down and eat more greens *my home is a safe space for people and pets from all walks of life* I am currently working from home, so I have plenty of time to care for and play with your pet(s)! I love being and walking outside and having an animal companion to join me is always a pleasure. We have a large back porch and yard for sniffing around. If your pet requires extra exercise, we have a quiet neighborhood to walk around in. We have a dog bed in almost every room, space for you to bring a crate, or an area that can be closed off overnight if necessary or requested. There are few places in the house that the dogs don't have access to out of an abundance of safety. Otherwise, they are welcome to make themselves at home! If I care for an animal in your home, I will let you and your pet take the lead!

About: I LOVE DOGS!! What more can I say? I have had dogs in my family, of my own and taken care of family dogs practically since I was born. I've been around dogs of all shapes and sizes and love all of them, no matter what! I have had experience with special diets, dog walking and even diabetic dogs (using diabetic test strips and glucometer). Sometimes I like to think of myself as a dog whisperer: I can get along with all dogs and read what they need or want. I'm also great at helping dogs to heal or get over their fears! I especially love giving and receiving loves (hugs, kisses and lots of cuddles and petting)! Give me your doggie babies! :D I would love to take care of them!

About: I’ve owned dogs and cats. We do tend to spoil them. I have lots of room for them to run and play in our fenced in yard. We walk them on a leash through our nearby cemetery. I currently work part time with Amazon flex. I will always be available if I have any pet jobs as Amazon flex is very flexible. I’m available for home and pet sitting. I have a fenced in back yard and currently own 1 miniature Daschund female 2 years old to help keep your furry friends playing or if needed I can use a crate with permission only.

About: Having the background of being raised on a farm has given me an innate love for animals. I have become a go to person for my friends and family in the city with not only dogs, but farm animals as well (cows, goats, pigs, chickens, rabbits etc.). I have experience with injured and ill animals as well in care taking. I am able to follow dietary restrictions and diets in general as well. Pets, cuddles and walks are no problem of course! :) I currently work from home (Thurmont, M-F 8-5) so I am very flexible with me being in home for either a whole work day, half day or drop ins (if close by). I cannot board in home. I am able to follow the direction of your pets care. Food schedules/diets, crating, walks etc. I keep every pets area clean and tidy so they feel as comfortable as possible. About: While I may not have formal experience, I’ve spent years caring for my own dogs and truly understanding what it takes to keep them happy healthy, and comfortable. I am attentive to their needs, from feeding and walking to playtime. I also know to be patient and gentle whether I’m helping a playful puppy burn off energy or making sure a senior dog feels safe and loved. I’m currently home from college and have a very open flexible schedule, which means I have plenty of time to give your pet the attention, care, and love they deserve. Whether it’s daily walks, playtime, feeding, or just keeping them company, I’m available throughout the day and can easily adapt to your pets routine. I have spent years caring for my own dogs and truly love being around animals. At home, I walk them twice a day, make sure their bowls are clean, and always give them fresh food and water. I also brush them and wipe them down when it is raining to help keep them clean and comfortable. I do my best to keep a routine that makes them feel safe and happy. I’ll bring the same level of love and attention to your pets treating them like my own with lots of patience, playtime, and care.

About: Hi! I’m Emma — a lifelong animal lover and experienced pet sitter. I’ve grown up with dogs my entire life and currently have a 6-year-old Golden Retriever named Harley, who keeps me active and smiling every day. Before moving back to the Lehigh valley area I had a client where I handled walks, feeding, playtime, and even vet appointments — so your pup is always in capable, caring hands. I graduated from Wilson College in May 2025 with a Bachelor of Science specializing in Equine Studies, giving me a strong background in animal care, behavior, and responsibility. I truly understand that dogs are family — my own dog is my best friend — and I treat every animal I care for as if they were my own. I’d love to give your dog safe, loving, and dependable care while you’re away. Pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine. I’m currently in between jobs, which allows me a very flexible schedule and plenty of availability for walks, drop-ins, and extended care. I currently work at a horse boarding and training farm in orfield Monday-wednesday as well as a small private farm Friday-Sunday. Working with large animals everyday has taught me a lot from prioritizing their needs, learning their behaviors, and meeting expectations to keep them healthy and happy. Because of this, I’m able to prioritize pets in my care and adjust my routine to meet their individual needs. Safety and trust are always my top priorities. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or in a client’s home, I follow the pet’s normal routine as closely as possible to keep them comfortable and stress-free. I make sure doors, gates, leashes, and feeding instructions are always double-checked, and I keep a close eye on pets during walks and playtime. I take time to understand each dog’s personality, energy level, and any special needs. In a client’s home, I respect their space and follow all care instructions exactly. In my home, dogs are supervised, have a calm, clean environment, and receive plenty of attention, exercise, and enrichment. I’m comfortable administering basic care, transporting pets safely to vet appointments, and providing regular updates so owners feel confident and informed. I treat every pet as if they were my own — with patience, consistency, and lots of love.

About: I’ve been a life time animal lover! I grew up with two dogs, a German Shepherd and a Westie. I currently live on a 300 acre farm with 9 cats. We have a guest house where I will board your pet, so no need to worry about any interaction with my current pets. I can offer a relaxing atmosphere and all day care on weekends along with morning and afternoon care on week days. I can also board or do drop-in visits for fish, hamsters, or horses. Your dog will love a relaxing mountain retreat! Your cat can enjoy a quiet vacation! I work full time as a teacher. I can board your pet all weekends or in the afternoons. I can take crate trained dogs anytime during the week but could only provide potty breaks every 6-8 hours. I am available for dog walks or drop-in visits any day in the afternoon or evening in the Chambersburg, Gettysburg, and Hagerstown areas. Your pet would live only with me in a private guest house. We have 300 acres to go for walks or chase balls! My husband and 9 cats live in the main house. Our cats don’t mind other animals but I can keep your pet away from the cats if you prefer. As a 15 year high school teacher, I am very trustworthy, authentic, and kind. I admit to being a bit of a “crazy animal person” as I try to pet every animal I see! I can be trusted with your animal for an extended time or just an afternoon walk! I can also board hamsters or horses.

I plan to make sure during my time with any pet that they are taken care of in a safe, proper, and caring manner, whilst also following any specific instructions of my clients needs for their fur-babie(s) & their homes.

Patches is a little skittish, particularly with new people, but he has warmed up to Kerri who plays with him, walks him, and pets him (he loves belly rubs). About: I have gained valuable experience in pet care through years of looking after various animals, including dogs, cats, and small mammals. My responsibilities have included feeding, grooming, administering medications, and ensuring they receive regular exercise. I work from home which allows me to provide personalized care for your pet, ensuring they receive the attention and support they need throughout the day Caring for pets in my home or your home involves creating a safe, comfortable, and nurturing environment tailored to each pet’s needs. Here is how I approach it: Feeding and Hydration Provide fresh water at all times. Follow the pet’s specific feeding schedule and portion sizes. Ensure dietary needs or restrictions are strictly observed. Walk dogs according to their energy levels and usual routines. Engage in playtime activities, such as fetch, tug-of-war, or interactive toys. Provide enrichment for cats with climbing spaces, toys, and interactive play. Administer medications as instructed by the owner or vet. Monitor for any changes in behavior, appetite, or physical condition. Keep a record of any health updates or concerns. Maintain a clean environment, ensuring litter boxes and bedding are fresh. Pet-proof the area to prevent access to harmful substances or hazards. Offer a safe space for the pet to rest and feel secure. Provide owners with photos, videos, and updates to give them peace of mind. Discuss any concerns or observations promptly. By following these practices, I ensure pets are happy, healthy, and well-cared for whether they are in my home or their own familiar environment.

About: I have been taking care of dogs for the last 5 years. I love training them and sometimes showing them. My friends often ask me to look after their animals. I enjoy walking with animals and giving them the attention they really need. I also take care of pets that need medication, following the prescription, and ensuring they are fed. I'm working from home these days, so I get to spend a lot of time with animals. They're having a blast and not getting bored at all! I'll keep the dogs on a leash outside, and if you have fans, they'll be there. I'll watch them. The cats will always have a clean space.

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Cress. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking bookings, your dog walker can send a Rover Card with details about your dog’s walk. Rover Cards require at least one photo and may include a map of the walking route, the total walk time and distance, and any pee or poop breaks recorded by the walker.

The route map lets you review where your dog was walked in Cress after the booking. It is not live GPS tracking.

Have specific details you would like included? Message your dog walker in the app before the walk begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every walker on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Cress. On Rover:

  • 91% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your walker interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and walker for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.

walkers on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement walker.
