About: As a first responder, I’m very comfortable around K9s and understand the importance of patience, consistency, awareness, and responsible handling around animals. I also have two dogs of my own, Millie, a Vizsla, and Aksel, a German Shepherd. I’ve had Millie her entire life, and Aksel came to us as a rescue about a year ago. When we first brought Aksel home, he needed extra patience, structure, and training, and we’ve worked with him consistently to help him become the happy, well-tempered dog he is today. I genuinely love dogs and enjoy spending time with them, working with them, and helping them learn. I work as a first responder, so my schedule is different from a traditional Monday–Friday schedule. I have set days off that allow me to offer pet care, and I primarily schedule boarding on my days off so I can give your pet plenty of attention and supervision. I also offer dog walking and drop-in visits when my schedule allows. I keep my availability updated and am happy to communicate ahead of time to make sure your pet’s needs fit my schedule. I have a fully fenced yard where dogs can safely get outside for exercise and play. I have two dogs of my own, a Vizsla and a German Shepherd, who are part of my household. Before boarding, I’m happy to discuss your dog’s temperament, comfort level, and how they do around other dogs. I can use indoor movable pet gates/kennels to safely separate dogs when needed, whether for feeding, rest, or simply giving them their own space. I always prioritize safety and will follow your pet’s normal routine, feeding instructions, and any special care needs.

I was super nervous about boarding, not knowing how they would be treated, if they were cared for properly, & if they would get their belly rubs hourly. After the first day meeting Heather & her family, I knew they would be the "other family" to my pups!! Heather sent updates daily, along with pictures & texts of how things were going. About: Growing up with large breeds (Bernese Mountain Dog & German Shepard), I’ve always been a lover of all pets, especially dogs. Since relocating to Blacksburg area for work 8 years ago, I’ve pet sat for a variety of animals in the region, ranging from puppies to senior dogs with specific medical needs. It would be an honor to meet and care for your pets! I work full time at VT with some remote days per week, so it can be a flexible schedule. I am happy to adjust schedules or remote days to meet your pets needs! I don’t have any pets in my current home, so I’m flexible to either board at my townhouse or stay at the pets home! I offer both options to all families and willing to drive up to an hour distance.

About: I’ve taken care of my own dog since high school! I trained him myself, as well as had full responsibility over all his walks, food and medical needs. Beyond my own house dog, I cared for animals in a shelter in Key West for many years with my mom and learned how to calm and soothe big or stressed dogs. I’m right now a full time student, however most of my evenings are free. I love using my free time to go on hikes with my dog, Gavin and would love to bring yours along. Additionally I love being a morning person I also wouldn’t mind waking up early in order to care for pets. Every time I’ve had a dog, we would allow them to go into the fenced backyard alone. Much of my experience with animals is formed on a trust bond in which they ‘recognize’ that I’m their main care taker and I can occasionally allow them in the front yard without leash. However for someone else’s dog I would always put the leash on before opening the doors, and monitor potty time even if the backyard is fenced in case they dig.

About: I would take care of little to big puppies of all ages. My favorite was a 7 year Great Dane I would house sit for. I have always grown up with animals and would also pet sit when my parents were out of town. My schedule is super flexible, since I am a college student! I can work with the owner and make sure the dog and cats get the attention they need:) I walk, feed, play and bath pets have worked with and have in my own house. I go for long walks and feed pets based on the owners preference.
