“Emmalee was very responsive and was great about sending daily updates and pictures of Indy. We're so thankful to have found such a kind, trustworthy dogsitter and we look forward to having Emmalee dogsit again!”

“She was wonderful! Kept in contact, sent pictures and snuggled with my big ol baby dog. I even had her help with some Amazon deliveries, delivered flowers and lost keys. So friendly and so helpful. Definitely contacting her again!”

“Alyssa and Zachary were so amazing with our animals. They provided plenty of updates with photos and took the time to make sure each of our pets’ needs were met. I felt very at ease knowing that my pup and kitties were in their care :) Would happily recommend these two, and will definitely be using their services again.”

“Marin is simply the best. She stayed at our house while we were on vacation and took excellent care of our two cats. She’s great about sending updates and sharing photos. I didn’t have a single worry while we were gone!”

“Wyneta was the best! I had to leave town for the holidays and left my two cats behind. I was nervous to ask someone to help me on Christmas, but luckily for my fur babies and I, she was available. She was very thorough and kept me updated constantly. She even made them some salmon to add to their meals :) I highly recommend her for dog or cat needs”

About: I grew up with all sorts of dogs, big to small. I currently have a 2.5 year old husky, so I’m not afraid of hair, energy, or being out in the cold! I truly love pets of all kinds and would be honored to help make your babies happier and healthier, one visit at a time. I’m currently a stay at home dog mom! I have pretty much open availability throughout the day and week. My calendar is free for your babies! Rain or shine, snow or ice, I’ll be outside. My husky is a great motivator to enjoy the soon approaching winter weather, and I would love to help get your pet some exercise even when you may not want to! If your pup is more of an introvert when it comes to other dogs, that’s perfectly okay too: I would love to have some extra time with my audiobooks! I have my boys on a pretty strict routine, and completely understand what it takes to run a house with pets. Whether that’s meal time, walk schedules, bath time, or even enrichment time, I would be honored to help make yours and your pets life a little smoother
About: When people ask if I have any kids, my response is that I have dogs. My dogs are my family and yes I do celebrate their birthdays. I have had a dog in my house since I was 3yrs old. I have taken care of neighbors pets. I recently rescued a puppy from a farm and organized and found a fur-ever loving home for her. I am still in communication with her owner and get updated pictures. My dream growing up was to have as many dogs like in the movie "101 dalmations". I have taken care of puppies, kittens, bunnies, ferrets, goats, chickens, and ducklings. I am able to stay the whole weekend at owners home. I am able to walk dogs during the week and weekend. The latest drop-in visit I can do is 10pm. I give my full attention to the pets I am caring for. I keep them busy with play or just someone to sit by. I understand it is stressful not only to your pet but also to you as well having to leave them with someone or at a kennel, I feel the same way! I keep meals on schedule and I'm able to administer medications (orally- some need special ways to sneak in 😃). I send picture updates throughout my stay.
“Callan watched our corgi for just over a week in our home. She was amazing. She sent photos nearly everyday and texted about their time together. She was extremely considerate and left our home better than we left it. In addition to watching our little guy, she brought in packages and watered our flowers. I highly recommend and plan on asking her to watch our dog and home again!”

About: I have been a proud Golden Retriever owner for over five years and truly enjoy caring for dogs. I love taking my dog on walks, playing fetch and hide-and-seek, and teaching obedience commands with patience, consistency, and lots of love. I understand the importance of providing dogs with exercise, attention, structure, and affection, and I will care for your pet as if they were my own. Pet care is my side kick passion, I'm looking to do pet sitting full time over the weekends. As a responsible professional and dedicated pet owner, I understand the importance of reliability, trust, and providing attentive care. I am available primarily available on weekends, from Friday evening through Sunday evening, for pet sitting, drop-in visits, walks, and companionship. I am also happy to care for your pet in the comfort of your own home if that is your preference. If you need assistance during the week, such as evening walks, feeding visits, or check-ins, I am willing to work with you to accommodate your pet's needs whenever possible. My goal is to provide safe, loving, and dependable care so you can have peace of mind knowing your furry family member is in good hands. Although my property does not have a fenced yard, we have a large outdoor space where your furry friend can safely enjoy time outside under my close supervision. I prioritize safety and never leave pets unattended outdoors. Inside our home, pets are treated like family. We allow our own dog on the furniture, so your pet is welcome to relax and make themselves comfortable. They will have the freedom to roam the house in a safe, loving environment rather than being confined. I understand that every pet has different needs and routines. If your preference is for your pet to be crated at certain times, I am happy to follow your instructions and maintain the schedule they are accustomed to. My goal is to provide care that aligns with your preferences and helps your pet feel secure, comfortable, and loved while you're away.

“Kimmie was wonderful!!! A big storm came through on one of the nights Kimmie was watching our dogs and when the storm sirens went off in the middle of the night Kimmie made sure the dogs were safe in our (unfinished) basement. She went above and beyond to stay with them to keep them calm, so that was a big plus! She did a great job communicating with us when we were away and our dogs seemed to thrive with her. That’s even more notable considering our younger dog lost his sight a few weeks prior to the dates we used her, and she navigated that unexpected concern beautifully!”

“First time using overnight care for my pups and couldn’t have gone better. She was very kind and very responsive to messages and questions! Very great experience and will be keeping her at the top of my list!”

About: I’ve spent my whole life having some sort of animals in my life. I have two dogs that live back in southwest Missouri with my parents. One is a chocolate lab who is a female, and her name is Coco. The other dog, which is a Weimer Reimer he is a male and his name is trooper. The only reason I didn’t bring these dogs with me is because they were very close with my parents and I didn’t want to tear them apart and mess their routine up. I currently work full-time, and I travel the state of North Dakota during the week but I am back on the weekends which I will be available all weekend long how do you care? Whether it’s at my home or the clients home if it is a fenced backyard, I will go out there and sit with him and watch the dogs as they do their business. But if there’s no fenced in yard, I will take them for a walk and make sure they are well taken care of.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Comstock walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Comstock maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
<b>Tip:</b> Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Comstock choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
