About: Throughout my life, I've been deeply immersed in caring for animals, particularly dogs and more recently, cats. Growing up, dogs have been a constant presence in my household, from nurturing puppies to tenderly supporting elderly dogs in their final stages. This journey included responsibilities like changing diapers and ensuring their comfort, reflecting my commitment to their well-being throughout their lives. Seven years ago, I expanded my animal family by welcoming my first cat into our home, a decision that has enriched my life beyond measure. Currently, I share my home with two cats and a lively two-year-old dog, each bringing their unique joy and companionship. When it comes to caring for animals, my approach varies based on their needs. For elderly dogs and all cats, I prioritize providing them comfort and support in their own familiar environment, ensuring their days arr still filled with love and care. On the other hand, for dogs that still revel in the company of their peers and enjoy playtime, I eagerly open my doors to host them, providing a safe and welcoming environment. Overall, my experience with animals has taught me the importance of patience, compassion, and adaptability in meeting their diverse needs. It's a privilege to share my life with these wonderful creatures and to provide them with the care and love they deserve. I work from home most days, and so does my partner. About: After over 25 years working in education, I took the leap and followed my passion to animal rescue. After volunteering for over 15 years in rescue, I've worked full time in the field. While most of my work is with cats, I do help with dogs as well. I love all cats (even the spicy ones) and have experience distributing meds, nail trims, etc. I also have a flexible schedule and can work with you to meet your floof's needs!! While I work full-time, I do set my own hours for the most part. So I am available to stop in both during the day and evenings. I live in Independence, but travel to Olathe for work and various locations around KC, so I can be flexible on locations as well! I am a life-long animal lover who has been drawing horses since I could hold a crayon, and I've been caring for all kinds of animals since I was a child. We had rabbits, guinea pigs, mice, cats, dogs, and horses at various times while I was growing up, and my childhood dream was to have lots of cats and lots of horses some day. Well I currently have 3 cats and 1 horse, so that's something! Haha. We also have two ducks and are planning to get more shortly. We've had as many as 5 at a time in the past. I've had pets of my own since my college days, and not surprisingly after having so many animals in my life, I ended up getting my degree in Animal Science! I also volunteered at the local Humane Society walking dogs while in college, and cared for pigs, poultry, horses, cows, and more rodents throughout my education. I also worked at a doggy daycare and boarding kennel for a time after college. These days my animal care is mostly directed at my own pets, but you can never have enough animals in your life in my opinion, and so here I am, ready to spoil your fur babies for you if you need! I currently work from home 3 days a week and am lucky enough to have a pretty flexible schedule during those days as well. That means I can take the time now and then to drop in and check on your pets for you if you need some extra help while you're away! Whenever I drop-in on your pets, I will stick to the routines you already have established for them at home to minimize any stress, so your pet will hardly be able to tell you're gone! But I will also definitely take the time to give them plenty of pets and play-time too, if that's something they would love! ^_^

sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
