“Kent was super responsive and genuinely happy to care of our dogs! It was a great peace of mind to have him watching the dogs while we were away. Will reach out again if we need someone to take care of them.”

“This was my very time to use any kind of service like this and Arely made it so smooth! Such wonderfully attentive and kind care she gave my boy. Very communicative and perfectly pleasant! I look forward to having her care for my boy again!”
About: I have always been a big animal lover, and love seeing the different personalities each animal has. My friends call me the dog whisperer 😄 Even with shy/skiddish dogs I have trained my dog the standard commands along with shake, high five, turn, and speak I do work a full time job Monday-Friday until 4:30. I am free on the weekends for boarding, or also on the weekdays if you pet is kennel trained If looking for dog walking, please let me know if your pet does not do well with other animals so I can make arrangements to leave my dog at home, or if I need to not walk multiple animals at once I live in a home on 3 acres, so there is plenty of room to play fetch, frisbee, etc. I also have a doggy door that leads to the fenced in backyard yard. For dogs that aren’t used to a doggy door I still keep an eye out on them for when they might need to go out, and most of the time they learn how to use the doggy door pretty quickly. So any pets that love to hang out outside, have access to sun bathe if they’d like 😊 Just leave me with a feeding schedule, or any other specific instructions and I will love and take care of your fur baby like they were my own 🩷
“We had a wonderful experience with our dog sitter! She was reliable, took our dog out exactly when requested, and kept us updated throughout the visit. We especially appreciated the photos she sent, which gave us peace of mind while we were away. It was clear that she genuinely cared about our dog and made sure he was comfortable and well cared for. We would definitely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy sitter!”

“Once again we used Katie and we're extremely satisfied. She takes great care of my Fur Kid, Aspen. She is highly recommended by me!! And she will be used again and again. Thank you so much for caring, Katie.”
“This is Tania’s third time watching our dogs. She has dog sat for my Great Danes twice before, which is amazing in itself, but this time I added my two small dogs and she did great. Tania is super kind and follows direction so well. I will absolutely continue using Tania as my dog sitter! She’s the best.”

About: I've been responsible for an animal since I turned old enough to fill up a bowl of kibble. My mom is a veterinarian and taught me how to make sure critters of all kinds were well cared for. Im currently continuing my education part-time, mornings from 9am to 2pm. Before and after class I try to be as active as possible, and it would be a pleasure to fit your pet's care into that time! I can provide either efficient in/out cleaning and feeding, or spend more quality time with your pet to ensure they're exercised and happy while youre away. For walking service, I'll happily plan a route that fits your pet's stamina and breed, or you can suggest one that you regularly follow!
About: I typically help neighbors & family with their pets when they’ve gone out of town many times. Walking, feeding, medicine, baths, etc. My parents recently got puppies that I helped raise from a month old! 💙 I work from home as a video marketer & work part time door dashing, which allows my schedule to be insanely flexible to help out with play time, walks, & drop by visits. 😎 I often help my elderly people bring their groceries all the way to the kitchen. I make sure to greet the animals, let them build confidence & trust, before entering the homes. My intention is to leave a safe impact on the house.

About: I am the owner of a two-year-old Lab mix and an eight-year-old German Shepherd, and I possess over five years of experience working at a veterinary clinic. My passion for German Shepherds is well-established, and I find immense satisfaction in providing care for animals and their owners. I look forward to meeting your pets ☺️☺️🥰 My regular working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5p.m. However, I am available to work outside these hours, including weekends and holidays. My expertise extends to canine care across a diverse range of ages and temperaments, encompassing both fearful and aggressive animals. I am also proficient in feline care and medication administration.
About: I’ve loved animals my whole life and treat every pet like family! Whether cuddles or playtime, I’m here to give them the care they deserve! I have very flexible hours! I work 8:30-2:30 so have a lot of time from before & after those hours! :) I am open to the early mornings! I follow each pet’s routine closely, making sure they feel safe and comfortable. I will always give lots of love, & make time for playtime!
About: I treat every dog like they're my own; patient, attentive, and genuinely happy to spend time with them. I'm reliable and communicative, so you'll always know how your pup is doing while you're away. I'm comfortable with dogs of all ages and energy levels, and I take the time to learn each dog's individual routine and quirks rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. Weekends are when I'm fully available and focused on pet care; no rushing between other commitments. That means consistent walk times, unhurried playtime, and someone who's actually present rather than checking the clock. If you need reliable dog walks or drop-in visits, that's exactly the window I keep open." For drop-in visits, I follow your dog's normal routine as closely as possible which includes feeding times, potty breaks, and any specific instructions you leave, so there's minimal disruption while you're away. I always do a quick check of food/water and make sure the home is secure before I leave. For walks, I go at your dog's pace rather than rushing, and I'm attentive to their comfort, always checking for signs of overheating, giving water breaks, and using leash/collar setups you're comfortable with. I keep you updated with the Rover app so you know how each visit went
About: With 5 years of experience caring for pets for friends and family I enjoy being able to meet new pets. I have cared for pets overnight in my home, drop-in care, and last minute sitting. Being a pet owner myself I know the importance of knowing your baby is well cared for. I believe in full communication and daily updates for peace of mind. I am a remote worker with the ability to be around your pets all day and let them out to my fenced backyard to play and potty breaks. During my free time I enjoy taking pets on walks around our neighborhood or playing in the backyard with them. I have a fully fenced yard and I am at home all day giving me the flexibility to be present while I care for your pets.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
