About: Forreal, they’re my faves of all the family members lol! I have many cherished years of experience caring for kitties and pups of all ages, including babies and seniors with special needs. With the exception of of my boy cat Sherbie, who was taken too soon by cancer, my animals have lived long and happy lives. That said, while I so loved being a dog and cat mom, losing each one was really hard (sometimes feels like yesterday!), so for the time being, I prefer to petsit other folks’ animal family members than adopt just yet! My dog Amy was a big and active dog! We spent lots of time on the trails when she was young and leisurely walks on flat sidewalks when she was a senior. She did have arthritis in those later years, so pilling her with medication became a daily game lol! My girl kitties Biggie and Nandie were foster fails who I had the pleasure to know since they were just two weeks old, and thankfully, there many more years with them as seniors. Each had special needs, including one with insulin-treated diabetes for the last 6 years of her life, so I got in lots of practice giving meds and taking samples for the glucose meter. All my animals were snugglers, and I was thrilled to comply! I’m not what you would call a disciplinarian, more like a grandma (although people food is a non-starter, unless it’s something that you insist on!) I do give as much affection and attention as they want, if they want, and if not, I give them space to be. I’m just happy and honored to care for them. I haven’t had too much experience with birds and small mammals, but I can follow instructions! I work from home full-time during the weekdays, on the computer with few meetings. During regular work hours, all my breaks are devoted to your babies. After 4p on weekdays and all of the weekend, I’m all theirs! If you have wifi, that’s wonderful! If not, that’s ok, I have a mobile hotspot. Either way, I can stay with your pets in your home, and not leave them alone. I’m unable to keep furbabes in my home except for my mom’s dog, who is on my lease lol! Leave me detailed instructions, and I will ensure that your home is secure as I can make it! No loose pups outdoors unless there is a complete fence, otherwise on-leash for sure. Indoor kitties will be indoors, leashed if they have the option, or catio’d/enclosed. Indoor/outdoor kitties - I prefer they stay indoors or in an enclosure during the house sitting, as they might get spooked by a stranger in their home, but up to you. Outdoor kitties - depends on yall’s routine, leave me detailed instructions please. As of October 2025, I am certified to perform pet CPR and first aid! I’m also happy to water your plants, if you’re out of town for more than a couple days.
About: I have been training dogs and horses for 25 years and I’d like to make a more personalized impact in the home with your pet. I am currently caring for my elderly father and I am substitute teaching part time. This gives me plenty of flexibility in my weekly schedule on Thursdays and Fridays, between the hours of 9AM-6PM. Monday-Wednesday I am only available 12PM-6PM. I enjoy supporting the animals mental and physical overall health by offering both types of stimulation and exercise. This often has a positive effect on behavioral problems.
“Kelsey is the best Dog Sitter in the world! She goes above and beyond in her care for my Blue. He loves her! I have a peace of mind when she is taking care of him! Thank you so much for all you do Kelsey!”

About: I am an animal lover. I take care of dogs cats and horses! Used to work at a vet clinic and currently work as a full time nurse. I am a full time nurse. I work Monday - Friday 8-4. I am available to check on your pets before work and after and will allow boarding whenever! I have 3 chocolate labs, a sheltie, and a cat! I have a 2 acre fenced in yard with 3 chocolate labs who can keep your baby company. I can also crate as needed! I never leave dogs unattended with other dogs and make sure to feed everybody separately! Unfortunately, I will not be accepting aggressive dogs at this time due to a bad experience. If your dog is known to fight other dogs, or humans, please do not book with me. Thank you in advance!
“Heather was super informative and sent pictures of our cats with every visit! She took great care of our babies and gave us peace of mind while we were gone. We will be using her services again for future travels!”

About: I have personal experience caring for both dogs and cats. I helped care for a small family dog for about 3 years, assisting with feeding, daily care, and attention. I also independently cared for my own cat for several months, managing feeding, cleaning, and overall care. Pet care has been part of my daily routine. I would come home during lunch breaks to check on and care for my pet, and after work I handled feeding, cleaning, and attention. I’m also generally free on weekends for consistent pet care and supervision. I make sure pets are cared for in a safe, clean, and comfortable environment while following any instructions provided by the owner. I focus on keeping pets supervised, maintaining their routines, providing attention and care, and making sure they feel comfortable and secure at all times.
About: I am a pre-vet student at Hardin-Simmons, and I love dogs. I work at a dog kennel, and in my spare time volunteer at the animal shelter, so I am always around dogs. I work with plenty of older dogs and puppies, and I am comfortable with any size dog breed. I work part time currently, so mornings and evenings are always available, which works well with the current summer heat. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays I also have open availability! If you are booking with me for the first time, please allow time for a meet and greet at a park near you before the booking is finalized! I am able to read dogs body language and understand that your dog is your baby, so I will never be aggressive towards a dog. I can take dogs out, feed and water them, and play with them, or take dogs to a park for a nice walk!
“I cannot praise Alyssa enough! There are no words to express my overwhelming gratitude for the level of care that Mia received. I was in CA and got a call from my fiancé that Mia was not eating and having frequent accidents. Alyssa brought Mia chicken, broth and her favorite treats to try and encourage her to eat ...thinking it was emotional due to my absence. But then she was getting worse and Alyssa took Mia to the vet and stayed on the phone with me until I could speak with the Vet staff because my fiancé could not leave work. She even made sure to be on call in case we needed her to pick up Mia if I couldn't get back to TX on time. Mia had emergency surgery and is doing great! Alyssa made sure that Mia and I had everything we needed during this scary situation. Thank you Alyssa!!!”

About: I have sat pets and homes for almost 8 years now. I always make sure that the pets get any medication or exercise necessary while their loved ones are away. I am a school teacher, so from Monday-Friday I am not at home most of the day. As soon as I get off work I would be with the pets all the time and on the weekends as well. I do like to meet the pet(s) before the family wants to leave so the animal can trust me in a 1 on 1 setting.
About: Hey I'm Katelynn! I've always had a dog or been around dogs and I've raised quite a few puppies and my husband and I currently have 3 dogs.. I live a pretty active lifestyle for those dogs that like to be active too or I could just lay around and cuddle with them. I love loving on all sorts of dogs. I can handle them all and I'll be happy too! I am a super punctual, caring, responsible person and I am very trustworthy. I hope you will consider me for your pets and I can't wait to get to know you and your four legged babies and what they love doing on a daily basis! I am a store manager and make my own schedule. I can care for your pets just about anytime and would love the opportunity to! My dogs are my babies. They are all very loved and taken care of, I have crate trained puppies in the past and will take care of your babies just like my own. It is a high priority, I take care of mine first thing in the morning and then throughout the days as needed of course and playtime is always in the afternoons and occasional walks after work. I work less then 10 miles from my home so I am always close by if necessary and my two dogs are very friendly and always looking for new buddies. I am looking forward to loving on your fur babies just as much as mine!
“Chasidee is a great cat sitter! She is dependable and went above and beyond our expectations. Our cats loved her visits, getting love from her, and all the nice treats she gave. We will definitely be using Chasidee again and recommend her highly.”
“Chanahyah was amazing! I loved seeing the pictures everyday and knowing my Gemi was truly cared for! She made sure to ask about the temperature when it got cold at night and was very attentive to Hemi’s wants and needs! Definitely recommend for drop ins or sitting!”

About: Originally from West Texas, I was raised caring for dogs, cats, cattle, chickens, pigs, goats, fish, even a llama! At the age of 18, I started working for my aunt's pet sitting business and gained a lot of experience caring for animals, administering medications, and maintaining others’ homes. I have experience with many different breeds, ages, and temperaments. I can also take care of your plants and garden while away! I work from home and have a small business, so I’m flexible! I also have a baby, so he will come with, usually in the carrier. I’m able to provide care for pets in their home. I have numerous references that I’m happy to provide. I feel that one can sense the trustworthiness and integrity in others, which I’m confident you’ll find in me.
About: i’ve grown up around animals my entire life and have always had a soft spot for them. I have experience with sitting pets and even have some background interning at multiple vets so I understand the love and care pets need. I am reliable and compassionate about the care your pets are given because I would want the absolute best care for my fur babies! Currently working part time, I am available early mornings from 7–11 AM and I am also available later in the evenings after 7 PM. After the first week of May, my schedule is wide open! I will be able to do full days during the week and some weekends. I will not be able to provide services that involve bringing your animal to my home, mainly because we live on 160 acres with no backyard fencing. I also have two small dogs in the house and a cat who do not get along very well with other animals.
“Maurica was absolutely fantastic with my 2 dogs. I did not feel like I had to worry about a thing which was really nice since this was a last minute trip I was taking. Would definitely use her services again!”

About: I enjoy animals of all types, and have had dogs and cats growing up. I’m familiar with several breed types and am comfortable with any size dog. I enjoy connecting with pets and giving them love through play time, plenty of touch/pets, and even offering quiet pockets where I read/draw and they can relax in the same space with me. It’s all about focusing on what keeps them happy while I’m there as a visitor in their safe space. Your pet will be loved and cared for as if they were my own. I have pet sat for highly social and energetic dogs and cats, as well as shy/timid ones. I’ve also cared for senior pets that need less energetic play and more quality interactive time. It’s not about forcing my presence, but rather giving them the opportunity to know they are safe even with someone they don’t know in their home. I like to share updates - pictures and videos are sent daily to ease your discomfort of being away from them and to help assure your pet is receiving quality care. I work full-time: work days are Sunday mornings and then full days Mon - Thurs (9 am to 4 pm), with a flexible lunch break window. Fridays and Saturdays are open. I am flexible to whatever a client prefers. I am happy to adhere to your guidelines for feeding times, specific diet, treat giving, and anything else for your fur baby’s well-being. I’ve provided medication as needed, as well. I enjoy time outside, but monitor for heat and safety for your pet first and foremost. Walks, if approved, will be kept to the local neighborhood - I do not transport pets unless there is an emergency. Respect for your private sanctuary is important - I will maintain any guidelines given to me for your home, can bring the mail and packages in while you’re gone, and will leave it the same or better than when I arrived.
About: I have had a family dog since I was 7. I’ve also had two cats of my own :) my 9 year old daughter and I love pets but aren’t quite ready to have one full time. We thought this would be a great way to spend time with some furry friends before we get our own one day! * My daughter leaves for the summer During the Summer I am available most evenings, weekends, and early mornings. I work in an office full time but am able to leave at lunch (flexible times) to assist if needed. I live in a villa in the Wylie area. I have a fenced yard with room to play. I am happy to crate your pet if needed!

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
