We have a deep affection for creatures of all sizes and shapes, and our passion for pet care began in Monroe, NC, where we ran an in-home dog-sitting service. We try to refrain from use of a kennel, unless this is what your pup is accustomed to. During their stay your precious pets are treated like another member of the household. We'll keep you well-informed with regular updates and promptly address any requests for additional information. We aim to provide you with peace of mind, knowing your dog is in excellent care when you're apart.

About: With over 40 years of experience caring for animals and people—including work as a veterinary technician and a retired CNA/caregiver—I provide dependable, detail-oriented care you can trust. At Denney’s Den, dogs enjoy doggy Airbnb-style stays in my home- a calm, cozy, low-stress environment where they’re treated like family and given personalized attention while away from their hoomans. I also offer drop-in visits in your home, ensuring your pets receive consistent, compassionate care in the space they’re most comfortable. Since retiring from healthcare, caring for animals has become my full-time work. I am home most days, allowing me to provide hands-on attention, supervision, and a calm, structured routine for the pets in my care. My home offers a calm, safe environment with a large fenced yard and two friendly dogs. I intentionally limit the number of boarding dogs so each pet receives personalized attention. Crating is used only if preferred by the owner. For drop-in visits, I take great care to respect your home while ensuring your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine.

While attending college in Raleigh, I expanded my pet sitting work and cared for multiple families with a wide range of pets and personalities. I work remotely, so my daytime schedule is flexible and easy to plan around. My weekly routine is generally very consistent, which means I know my availability well in advance and can provide dependable walks, drop-in visits, and midday care without last-minute surprises. Pet care fits naturally into my day—I’m able to step away for walks, potty breaks, playtime, feeding, or medication visits while still keeping a reliable schedule for both pets and their owners. At this time, I’m not able to offer boarding in my home, but I take caring for pets in their own environment seriously. When I’m in your home, I treat it with the same care and respect I would expect in my own. I always make sure doors are secure, water bowls are fresh, and pets are safe and comfortable before I leave. I also pay attention to small details—cleaning up any messes, checking that toys are safe, and moving anything that could pose a risk (for example, a torn stuffed toy that could be chewed apart). I've been fortunate enough to love and care for a variety of pets all the way from fish and lizards to turkeys and goats. About: Dogs love our 10 acres of mountain land with hiking trails, old logging roads and a creek. We have extensive experience dog sitting, house sitting, fostering and training all breeds and age ranges of dogs. We are always surrounded by dogs at the cabin. We will always be with your dog. We work remotely and have two Blue Heelers that can play with your dog. Our dogs and your dog will be a part of our daily routine. Your pets will become part of our family. We do not crate or board dogs up, unless you ask us to crate them. They will be living in our cabin and will be treated as our own. We are very flexible with times and can accommodate last minute bookings. We are also happy to keep you updated throughout your pets stay with us and we love to provide photos.

About: I have worked in the dog training/boarding industry for over 7 years. I have raised dogs since I could walk especially large and stubborn dogs such as German Shepard’s. I love all breeds and sizes of dogs. I recently moved back to granite falls after training dogs for over 7 years to pursue a career in firefighting. And meet some new four legged friends I live near the dog park and a large park so we can take visits there or go throw a ball in the large field.
