About: I have experience caring for animals, developed over a lifetime of hands-on involvement. My family has always relied on me to walk, feed, and bathe our dogs, and I have assisted family friends with dog sitting for several years. I’ve successfully trained both of our family dogs from puppyhood, covering basic obedience, potty training, and post-surgery care, including administering medication and ensuring comfort during recovery. I also have experience caring for senior dogs, making thoughtful adjustments to ensure their environment remained accessible and stress-free. In addition to dogs, I have cared for cats for the majority of my life. I’m familiar with their behaviors, routines, and needs, and I provide attentive care tailored to their comfort and well-being. I am currently looking for a part-time job and am on summer break from college, which gives me a flexible and open schedule. This allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to caring for your pets. Whether it’s daily walks, feeding, playtime, or overnight care, I can easily incorporate pet care into my daily routine. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I prioritize creating a safe, calm, and familiar environment for the animals. I follow all provided instructions closely, including feeding schedules, walk routines, medication needs, and any specific behavioral or comfort preferences. I make sure pets get plenty of attention, exercise, and affection, and I’m respectful of the home, keeping things clean, organized, and secure. I will also provide regular updates with photos or messages, so you can feel confident knowing your pet is happy and well cared for while you're away.

About: I’ve cared for cats since I was 12 and have experience in administration medications, cleaning litter boxes and taking any animal on hikes throughout Missoula! I’m currently working part-time, so I will have plenty of time to take care of pets over the summer! I’m free on the weekends if you’re needing someone to take care of your furry baby while on a weekend getaway! I graduated with a bachelor’s in biology and journalism at UM. I am currently a grad student at the University of Montana in student housing, so can only care for small pets at my apartment but can easily crate your dog if needed and stay overnight at homes if necessary!

About: Hello! I have taken care of cats and dogs since an early age. I grew up within an animal loving family. Friends and acquaintances have requested pet sitting and house sitting and trust me to take care of things while they’re away. I also have had business by “word of mouth,” which I appreciate! I was also a regular volunteer at TX Humane Heroes. I grew up with dogs, 2 Bichons and a Poodle. At 21 we became a mixed pet household with the addition of cats. I have experience in giving insulin shots since one of my cats, Boo, was diabetic. My beloved Tigger was with me for 20 years and I used to “pill” him twice a day for hyperthyroidism. I would love to take care of your fur-babies short term or long term. I’m moving to the Missoula, MT region. Feel free to ask me questions! Currently, I work a full time job but am able to house-sit, if needed. I unfortunately do not work from home, so I would be very limited on doing potty breaks or administering medication during those in-office days. It would be confined to after work and before I leave. Weekends are much more open! Even though I would love to have your pets at my place, I am unable to. Currently, I could take care of your pet(s) at your home.

About: I am very experience playing and caring for dogs of any and all sizes. I love to hike, run, and walk with dogs depending on their ability. Your dog would be my only priority and I would love and care for them. I raised and cared for a Labrador for 14 years, so I know how to handle puppies as well as older dogs. Also I can work with more than one dog at a time. I am available to walk your dogs early in the morning as well as later in the afternoon on almost all weekdays. I can house sit during weekends , Friday through Sunday. I can also make house visits throughout the day to check up on your dog. I am working four days a week on a farm. I typically run or hike with my dog early in the morning and could take your pup along with me. I usually get out of work around 4 and take my dog swimming by the river. My partner works from home during the day so your dog would get near constant attention and loving. I have a big backyard in the lower rattlesnake and a very friendly lab that loves to play, your pup would get lots of exercise romping.

About: For many of us, our four-legged friends aren’t just pets, they’re family. I was raised to believe that our animals should be cared for, loved and respected, and having this mindset over the course of my life has given me a rapport with dogs and cats. Having my own dog, I can relate to the pet owner who feels guilty about leaving their dog(s) at home all day during working hours. With my services, you can rest assured that your pup will be physically and mentally entertained, so you can come home to a happy, healthy pet. I am available for walks, drop-ins, and house/pet sitting, or a combination of these. I am also happy to cat-sit as well. Please feel free to message me with any questions or special requests, and I hope I can help you and your pets! I live and work at Rock Creek not far from Missoula. It’s a great country-side setting for dogs with lots of public land, trails, and of course the creek itself. We have a fenced yard to keep dogs nearby and safe. If your dog is a social butterfly, I can bring him or her to my fly fishing shop and make them a “shop dog” for the day!

20. John S.
“There is no doubt that our dog, Dan, would rather stay with John than with us. John is a lot more fun than us, especially from the perspective of a dog. John is truly a dog lover. His family has owned multiple dogs since he was a toddler. And he is truly a cat lover as well. He owned a cat, who adopted him, for many years. John is truly an animal lover in general. He has funny voices and nicknames for every animal he knows. In the summers, John works at a fly shop, and he gives every dog in the store--whether just passing through or hanging out there all day--a huge amount of attention, and interacts with them more than most others would. He truly loves dogs and cats and it is in his nature to give them the attention they need. This is why it was natural to think of John when we started traveling more often. And it wasn't long before it became clear to us that Dan relished his time with John. He would get so excited when we started getting his overnight things together, and as we made the drive to John's house. And, while Dan was certainly happy to see us when we came to pick him up, his first night at home was always spent looking very pouty and bored. It's obvious that John is Dan's favorite person (perhaps other than his parents, perhaps not--we're not sure). I think that says more than anything could about how well John cared for our dog.”
