About: I’ve dog sat for family, friends, and clients that resided in Philadelphia, New Jersey, and Virginia. My clients have relied on me to check on, walk, and feed their little family members. I have a little bundle of joy named Mochi. Taking care of him is my favorite thing to do. He makes me realize that I have what it takes to care for pets of all different backgrounds. :) I’m currently working transitioning into a new job and looking to use all my free time to take care of your little family member!❤️🐱🐶 🏡 Trust, Safety & A Comfortable Environment 🐾 Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities! Whether your pet stays in my home or I come to yours, I’ll provide a clean, calm, and caring environment where they can feel comfortable and secure. I’ll follow your instructions closely, respect your home and routines, and make sure your pet receives plenty of attention, supervision, and care. You can have peace of mind knowing your furry family member is in a safe and loving environment while you’re away. ❤️🐶🐱

“Lauren was really great, especially given our cat is very skiddish/scared and runs under the sofa at the slightest noise. Thank you for being caring and compassionate. When we go out of town again, Lauren will definitely be our selection. We highly recommend her.”

About: I offer personalized, one-on-one care tailored to your dog’s unique needs, personality, and routine. With a focus on reliability and attentiveness, I make your dog’s comfort and daily schedule a priority. I strive to be a calm, loving presence your dog can trust, helping them feel safe, relaxed, and cared for while you’re away. As a full-time teacher, my weekdays follow a consistent and predictable schedule. I am available for afternoon visits after school, evening care, as well as overnight stays when needed. On weekends, holidays, and school breaks, I have more flexibility and can provide extended care, additional visits, or longer stays. This structure allows me to offer reliable, attentive pet care while maintaining clear communication and consistency for your pet. I care for pets with a focus on comfort, routine, and individual needs, whether in my home or in my client’s home. I follow each pet’s normal schedule for feeding, walks, playtime, and medication, and I take time to learn their preferences and personality. In a client’s home, I respect their space while providing attentive, one-on-one care and keeping pets in a familiar environment. I prioritize safety, cleanliness, and calm interactions, and I communicate regularly with updates so owners can feel confident their pet is happy and well cared for.

About: My biggest priority is maintaining each pet’s established routine! I always ask owners about their pet’s feeding, walking, grooming, medication, and training schedules, and I follow their instructions as closely as possible to ensure consistency and comfort while they’re away. If a pet doesn’t have a specific schedule, I typically begin the day around 8 AM with breakfast, followed by a morning walk. I usually aim for about a mile, but I’m happy to go farther for energetic pups or adjust the distance and pace for senior dogs or those with different physical needs. Afterward, I’ll wipe their paws, clean them up if needed, and spend time playing, providing enrichment, or reinforcing their usual training routines. Throughout the day, I balance exercise and playtime with plenty of affection and relaxation. For quieter pets or senior dogs, I love bringing a book and reading aloud while keeping them company and giving them lots of love! During downtime, I also make an effort to tidy up and maintain the home. My motto is to always leave a space better than I found it! In the evening, I typically follow up with dinner, another walk, and some quality time before settling in for the night. I also enjoy cooking, and with the owner’s permission, I’m happy to prepare a little dog-safe treat or meal using appropriate ingredients, provided it aligns with their dietary needs and restrictions. Above all, I’m flexible! Whether your pet thrives on a strict schedule, needs extra exercise, prefers a slower pace, or simply wants someone to cuddle with, I’m happy to adapt my day to whatever makes them feel happiest and most comfortable. I am currently going to school part time on Tuesdays and Thursdays so those days are the most difficult to schedule for me. I also work part time at Mad Science of CVA, where I am scheduled by season and typically work once-twice a week for two hours at a time. I can pet sit on these days, but depending on the time of my shift for MSCVA, I may have to leave for two-three hours before returning. About: You can finally relax knowing your pet will be safe, treated like family and given all the love. Hi there! I’m a stay-at-home mom located in the Hilton area of Newport News. I’m active, reliable, and available from early mornings until late afternoon. I’ve cared for everything from a home full of 7 cats and 4 labradoodles (all at once!) to countless pets belonging to friends, family, and friends of friends. I have a 6 year old son with special needs who absolutely adores pets so if you’re looking for boarding, please make sure your pet is child-friendly. During the day however, he’s in school and I will be able to cover those who may not be small child friendly. I don’t mind hopping in the car to take your pup to the park or on a trail if they need more than just a quick lap around the block. I’m a big morning person who thrives on routine but, full disclosure, I avoid rush hour or late-night driving since my son is with me after 3:30 p.m. Monday–Friday. Whether your pet needs a walk, drop-in, or a place to stay while you’re away, I am here to help. Just drop me and line❤️ I’m available Mon-Fri from 5am-5pm for walks, parks, even just a home visit and car ride if your pet just needs some 1:1 during work hours. Weekends are limited so send me a message during the week to check availability. I have a large yard but it is not fenced. My son and I enjoy walking whenever we can around our neighborhood in Hilton. I have a pet and baby proof clean home with a gentle loving child. Cleanliness is of the utmost importance to me so you won’t have to worry about anyone making a mess and it not being cleaned up.

About: For at least the past 3 or 4 years, I have dog sat for a family that goes on vacation for a week during the 4th of July. During that time, I enjoy the time of the pups and we have endless fun. We go on walks and spend time outside running around. After being outside, we go inside for a good snuggle. Recently, my friend found kittens and rescued them after they had been harvested in peanuts. While she goes to work I watch them, feed them, and play with them. As kittens they have to be bottle fed and manually assisted in using the restroom. I am capable of doing both as I have had to tend to those sweet babies. I promise i'll take care of your pet and we'll share lots of fun times!

FAQs for Pet Sitting - Claremont

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of November 2026, there are 873 sitters on Rover offering Pet Sitting across Claremont. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.

Before booking, confirm:

  • the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
  • the care instructions the sitter should follow;
  • which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
  • how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.

Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Claremont. On Rover:

  • 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.

sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
