About: Hi I’m Kaitlin! I graduated from SSU as a biology major and I have my exotic animal and wildlife rehab certificates. I currently work at Township Animal Hospital as a Vet Assistant and have experience with animal handling and giving medications. I have been surrounded by cats and dogs my whole life and currently have a German shepherd and 3 cats that are my babies. I would love to take care of your animals any way that I can and give them all the love that they need. I can pet sit, walk your dog, or just visit your pets for a little play date whenever you need me. Let me know if you are interested in having me take care of your wonderful pets and I’ll get back to you right away! I’m working full time at the moment, however I always make time to visit your pets and take them on walks. It is a stress reliever for me so I can easily fit them into my schedule. I have 3 cats and a German shepherd in my house. I always make sure they have food and plenty of water, especially in the summer time with hot weather. I will treat your pets exactly how I would treat my own, with love and kindness and plenty of attention.
“Kyle was fantastic! From the moment we met him, he was professional, friendly, and put us at ease. He took wonderful care of our kitten while house sitting and sent regular photos and updates, which made it so easy to relax and enjoy our vacation.Knowing our kitten and home were in such good hands made our trip completely stress-free. Kyle was attentive, communicative, and clearly cared about making sure everything was going well while we were away.We couldn't have asked for a better experience and would absolutely book Kyle again. We highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and professional pet sitter!”

“Diego did a phenomenal job with our 3 cats while we were on a weekend trip! He sent updates and pictures on every visit and we could tell our kitties had a great time! They were happy and relaxed when we got home.”
About: Since I was a child I have taken care of the family dog. They are like family to me. I have worked at a dog spa since May of 2025 so that I have experience on handling dogs. I can bathe your dogs and brush them but not groom them. I love animals like family. I also take care of my sister’s golden retriever when she’s away on trips. I work Tuesdays-Saturdays from 10am-6:15pm so on my work days I can house sit your pets, take them for walks and take care of them after work and my days off I’m available anytime. I have a cat at home who is spoiled. Every day she gets groomed, loved and cuddled with. She couldn’t be more happier. I even have a filtered water fountain for my car to drink out of I clean every two weeks. I enjoy cleaning her food bowl every morning and give her dental treats to make her gums and teeth healthy. When it comes to clients pets I’d do the same as if they were my own pet very loved and spoiled. When I had my family dog she was very loved and spoiled as well. Every day do walk her, brush her, feed her and cuddle with her making the happiest dog she can be. All animals I treat equally.
About: My name is Nicole. I have been an animal lover since I was old enough to know what animals were. Between catching potato bugs, feeding the spiders in my windowsills, and moving worms off of sidewalks, I’ve always had a particular connection with the animals that most people don’t understand. As soon as I was old enough, I marched off to the Sonoma County Animal Services to volunteer. From there, it was love at first bark. When I turned 18, I immediately went to animal care as my first real job and was lucky enough to work at Rohnert Park Animal Services for several years. I opened my home to many different rescue critters including snakes, tortoises, rats, lizards, and birds. I rescued my first dog and she is still my best friend to this day 10 years later! Over the years, I was blessed to foster many different exotic animals and worked with the Sacramento SPCA through the pandemic. Shortly after, I made a huge cross-country move and ended up in Louisiana working with all kinds of critters at Northshore Humane Society. From there, I ended up back in my hometown of Sonoma County. Throughout all of these changes, the one variable that never changed was my love for animals and passion for making sure they were safe. Through my 8+ years of shelter experience I have worked with the most feral of feral cats, wildlife brought in shoeboxes, all sizes and shapes of dogs, and so much more. I have met and befriended many pets that were reluctant to be befriended and worked with virtually every breed of cat and dog on the planet. I am fear-free certified and have extensive experience with medication management, basic first-aid, canine CPR, and basic training for both dogs and cats. I am experienced with walking large breeds including reactive dogs and can handle heavy pullers (I have TWO huskies!). I have also volunteered with the Bird Rescue Center of Sonoma County and have a special skillset with exotic animals. My two personal rescue dogs are half husky and bully breed which are two of the most misunderstood dog breeds, so there will be no breed discrimination from me. My favorite furry friends are often shy, tricky to befriend, or nervous. Making a scared baby comfortable means the world to me and I love the challenge. As stated above, I also have extensive experience caring for exotic pets including rats, mice, birds, snakes, tortoises, turtles, fish, lizards, invertebrates, and spiders. I am perfectly comfortable with your exotic pet’s diet and am familiar with feeding snakes and other reptiles frozen-thawed rodents. The only animals I won’t consider petsitting for are species that are illegal to own or venomous. If I had to summarize my truest passion, it would be making sure that every single animal feels safe and comfortable. Even if they’re not perfect, they all deserve kindness and patience. We don’t expect perfection from humans, but we so frequently expect it of animals. So if your pet is a little bit quirky or one of those types that gets dismissed as “scary” or “mean”, you’ve found a person that will give them exactly what they need to feel loved and cherished. Because no pet is perfect, but they are perfect for you. My promise to you is that I will do my best to be your baby’s new BFF. No pet sitter will truly replace you, but I will make sure that I’m the second-best thing. I work from home as an administrative assistant for my husband's guitar studio, so I have a flexible schedule to meet your specific needs. I have access to a reliable car and am happy to do multiple drop-ins so your buddy is comfortable all day long. My motto is that ALL animals deserve humane, kind, and compassionate care. My 16 years in animal shelters has gifted me with experience handling virtually every type of pet of all different shapes, sizes, personalities, and needs. I am certified in fear-free training and utilize positive reinforcement only. I'm passionate about cooperative care and ethical handling no matter the circumstances. I understand that every pet is different and will learn how to make your best bud feel comfortable, safe, and loved.
“Oliver was so attentive with my cat. He was promptly communicating whenever necessary and sent me lots of photos. I felt great knowing that Tigger was well taken care of. I highly reccomend!”

About: I love to care for animals and over the years I’ve enjoyed looking after dogs, cats, chickens- even pigs! Getting to know each pet’s unique personality is one of my favorite parts of the job. I believe every animal deserves care that is detailed to their needs & I’ll work with you to create a routine that feels familiar, fun and safe. Whether you’re away for the day, at work or on vacation, you’ll have peace of mind knowing your pets getting lots of love attention and care - just like at home. I’m at home during all dog sitting. I live in a safe, walkable area near a grassy park. I can travel to you for care, exercise and walking. Fenced yard, sun and shade, doggy pool, time for walks, play, napping. My pooch has seizures, so I have dealt with this quite a bit. Can administer medicines as well.
“We had a wonderful experience with Alexia. From the start, she was attentive and open when we explained our cats’ routines, and throughout our time away she was consistently communicative and generous with updates. It was reassuring to receive photos and messages, and to know our two kitties were in such good hands. She was polite, dependable, and followed our requests carefully. Most importantly, when we returned home, our cats weren’t frantic or love-starved, they were happy to see us, calm, and clearly well looked after. We’re so grateful for the care she provided and would happily recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter.”
About: I’ve worked at PESCM, a pet emergency hospital, that has given me the knowledge to properly care for animals to make sure there is no risk. I’m currently looking for something part-time with adorable animals and a way to get back to helping people with their pets in anyways I can. I have experience with my own two animals on how to crate train, to not interact with other animals in case of accidents or injuries, and on how to keep cats from escaping the safety of their own home.
About: Ever since I was a kid I’ve had a passion for animals, and animal care. I genuinely love working with them, dogs are my strong point, and I have years of experience as well as have some training under my belt. I work part time at a dealership in Santa Rosa, so I do have a lot of free time! I don’t mind over nights, and I don’t mind early mornings if need be! I’m very flexible with my schedule! Tell me what you need and I’ll do my best to accommodate your requests! I am very trustworthy, and since I love all animals I will always go above and beyond to treat your fur-babies like royalty! Animals are so important to me, sometimes I enjoy their presence more than people! I have experience in the veterinary technician field and all my friends and family say I am great with animals. Usually pets or animals come up to me when they don’t like others! I would treat your fur-babies as if they were my own, ALWAYS!

About: I’ve been taking care of my families puppy and my own kitten for about 2 years now ! Ive taken care of other peoples dogs in the past as well! I’m efficient and competent. Im currently a college student, so I spend most of my time at home and just in general I’m a home body. So, I have enough time to care and tend to pets and their needs. I’m very attentive to my own cat and families dog. They both have feeding schedules and are potty trained. I’ve taken my time to make them good pets. Stefanie took great care of our cats! She is very experienced and personable, and communication throughout was easy. She was even able to coax one of our shy cats out of hiding. We can home to clean litter boxes and happy cats. Will definitely book Stefanie again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
