“We had a wonderful experience with Lindsey! This was the first time we've left our baby in the car of someone other that my parents, but Lindsey made us feel very comfortable. Merlin clearly had a great time in the photos and videos she sent us. Very reliable and timely, we can't recommend Lindsey enough!”

About: My husband and I have had dogs all of our lives! We recently lost our 140 lb. Bouvier des Flandres (Oscar) and our kids are missing having a pet! We are currently pet-less, non-smoking, clean home, looking to love a dog for the weekend or during the summer when we are off. We have a huge yard (2 acres) and can keep your pet on a leash or nearby while we play outside! We love walks and snuggles! We only watch non to low-shedding breeds. No aggressive dogs. We are currently working/at school - so weekends are it. Once school is out (June-August) we have all summer to watch your pup! We are also an active family, so if you need your dog walked, we can do it! We will keep a close eye on your pup. Our kids are super gentle and are the sweetest kids. Your dog will be our priority if they are here! We want you and your pet to feel at home. We have been dog lovers all of our lives and we used Rover with our last dog and know you want a trusting home - we get it! We don't currently have any other animals and will only take 1 dog at a time (unless from the same family).
“Mara was great! She did drop in visits to care for our cat while we were on vacation. Lucy, our cat, is very shy and this was the first time we have used this service, so we didn't know what to expect. As the week went on, I could see in the pictures that Lucy was warming up to Mara. Lucy seemed very happy and well cared for when we returned homes.”

About: I've taken care of animals my entire life, whether it is a friend or family pet! I started volunteering at the Animal Humane Society 4 years ago as a shelter assistant and adoption assistant, then quickly moved up to working as a educator for three summers. For the past year I have also worked as a Kennel Attendant at a dog boarding and daycare facility. At the boarding facility I had to administer care to a wide variety of breeds and apply medical assistance to dogs with various needs (Medication, ear/eye ointment, senior care). I also was tasked with observing and handling groups of 10+ dogs at a time. I am currently working full time Monday-Friday. On weekdays I am available after 4:00 pm, but I can be flexible depending on needs. I am also available all day Saturday and Sunday. Whatever the clients home provides, I can make sure that the pet is safe and sound by using a leash outside when needed and providing eyes on them at all times. I will ensure that they will be taken out and provided all of the care that they need.

About: I bring 13 years of pet care/pet sitting experience and the goal of making your pet’s day feel similar, even while you’re away. I enjoy taking the time to learn their routine, personality, and the little things you know about them best. My approach is patient, attentive, and guided by your instructions. I know there’s a lot of trust involved in handing someone else your leash and I take pride in you feeling comfortable leaving them with me and getting the little things right. I work part-time as a nurse and am in graduate school, so my availability changes from week to week. No particular day or time is off-limits—it just depends on my work and class schedule. Share the dates and times you need, and I’ll let you know what I can accommodate! Before caring for your pet, I’ll ask about their habits, house rules, and anything that might need extra attention. I’ll follow your instructions, respect your home, and give your pet time to get comfortable with me. You can expect updates along the way, and if something seems out of the ordinary, I’ll reach out to you immediately rather than guess.
“Had Anna do drop ins over a weekend for my Boston terrier and Australian Shepherd and she did a fantastic job! Timely, responsive and caring in all her interactions. Would definitely rebook!”

About: We are both experienced pet owners, Lukas grew up on a farm and continues to work with 4-H and FFA organizations. Rhianna grew up with dogs in her home and currently raises our 5 rabbits! Rhianna works as a nurse so there will be days when she is working full 12 hour shifts, but then there are times she has several days off in a row. Scheduling happens about 8-10 weeks in advanced so she should have plenty of time to work something out! Lukas works a more regular 9-5 schedule but has Fridays off for some more flexibility. You can trust that while your dog is staying at our house, they will be showered with love and attention. We don’t have kids or dogs of our own so they will get focused care and play time! We don’t have a fully fenced yard but are willing to go to dog parks and on walks to get the wiggles out. We have caged rabbits that are in a closed off room in our house so there will be no interaction between them and your pet.
“Outstanding!!! We were so grateful for Emma’s consistency and playfulness with our two cats. We were gone a long time and she made sure that they got love every day. Her communication was perfect and we appreciated the daily pictures. I will book Emma as often as she is available!!”

About: I have taken care of dogs as large as an Italian Mastiff and as small as mini schnauzers. I am comfortable and confident with handling dogs of all temperaments. I currently go to college full time. I only have classes in the mornings, so my days are pretty open to spend time with dogs or take them on walks. I currently have 4 mini schnauzers at home and provide them with a safe and loving environment. I would bring that same care for your beloved pet.
About: My entire childhood my aunt who lived with us, bred toy poodles. So, caring for puppies to dogs is my specialty. From feeding to walks, snuggles and play, I do it all with love and care. Since having children, we have discussed fostering dogs and we found this would be the best way to love on some dogs and make an income as a stay-at-home mom of two. I am a stay-at-home mom, so we are available mostly all the time other than drop off and Pickup from school, and can move commitments around fairly easily. I have a fenced in yard, and two young children to run around and play with your fur baby, walk with them and help feed them. We live in a quiet neighborhood with a lot of running space along walking paths.
About: I have done pet sitting for friends and I’ve enjoyed it a lot! I love to care for dogs and cats. I also taught my own cats to sit and speak! My family had two dogs when I was younger that I would help care for and take on walks. I’ve also done overnight care for a dog who was blind and very old. I have a lot of time to care for all of your animals! My schedule is not very full these days, aside from feeding time and litter box cleaning! I do a great job at following instructions given, and paying attention to my actions and surroundings to make sure pets don’t get ahold of things they shouldn’t. I can also do some training and behavior correction.
About: I have had a dog in my life for the last 13 years, I work from home so able to spend a lot of time with your pup😊 Down to 1 dog so would love more doggy time 🥰 Work 6-230 from home so available to spend time with your dog and let out on breaks and done early to get out for walks. I live in a townhouse so don’t have a fenced yard but do have a cable to tie out back. Also have a bigger kennel if that is needed.
About: I’ve had dogs my entire life and have experience in training, everyday care and play, and administering medicine. I was a dog groomer for a brief period. I trained my papillon to perform many tricks and to obey some commands. I had to bathe and groom him regularly when he became a senior because he wore diapers. Administering his medicine and keeping up with his care required dedication, patience, and organization, skills which I would be happy to lend to another family. I’m looking for a side hustle I can do with my 5.5 month old daughter accompanying me. Since I’m a stay-at-home mom, my schedule is fairly open. I would love to give walks or do home visits. As to home visits, I’m willing to provide whichever services you want (although grooming aggravates my allergies pretty badly). For walks, I would practice leash safety to avoid dogs getting loose or sustaining a neck injury from a collar.
About: I have 4 cats of my own. Experience with small and medium dogs. Open to medical care, pet-related chores (litter box & poop scoopin), and especially cuddles! Love to give treats & play! I am a nurse who works night shifts, I have my schedule at the hospital 6-8weeks in advance usually! On days I’m working I would drop in the morning and the evening. I’m wide open on my days off! I’d like to recreate your own routine with your pets while you’re away! Comfortable with crates, walks, playing, feeding, cuddling, cleaning, sending updates via photo/video!
“Angelina was very prompt with her messaging. She was reliable as she showed up at the appropriate time and followed my pets care instructions exactly. I came home to find my furry friend properly cared for. I would use her again!”

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
