“Amy was absolutely amazing with our 3 fur babies!! She took wonderful care of them while we were away! I would definitely recommend her and will use her services again in the future!”

“Nicole was an amazing cat sitter! She was incredibly loving, mindful, and attentive while caring for our cat. Knowing our cat was in such caring hands gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Nicole was also very flexible and easy to work with, which we truly appreciated. We came home to a happy, well-cared-for cat, and we couldn’t be more grateful. We highly recommend Nicole to anyone looking for a caring and dependable pet sitter!”

“Megan is absolutely AMAZING. Funniest story behind finding her here on Rover but we were worried sick about our babies, but she made this experience soo easy and enjoyable knowing our pups were good. She got through to my most stubborn pup and thats completely impressive. She was so patient and attentive to our fur babies and takes the BEST pictures of them. Thank you again 💓”

About: With two dogs of my own and five years of professional animal care under my belt, I’ve found that taking care of animals is my passion. I’ve earned a bachelor’s degree in biology with a focus in preprofessional animal medicine. Through my education, I’ve gained knowledge on animal nutrition, handling, anatomy, and behavior. Professionally, I’ve been working with small domestic animals for five years. Starting as a cat volunteer at the humane society, I learned to socialize, feed, clean litter boxes, and handle cats. I then proceeded to learn basic handling of rodents, rabbits, and reptiles as an undergrad. For my two most recent positions, I worked as a kennel attendant and dog handler. As a kennel attendant, I worked with rescue dogs and learned to properly sanitize crates and kennels, feed and handle medicine, and dog socializing. As a dog handler, I worked in a large and small dog boarding facility and strengthened my knowledge of feeding and handling meds. I became proficient in understanding dog behavior and maintaining a peaceful environment for large groups of dogs. As your pet sitter, I can promise I will put in my best effort to provide the same level of care for your furry family as you do. I look forward to becoming your pet’s temporary best friend! I have a loose schedule and am willing to care for your pets weekdays or weekends. Whatever you need, I am happy to work with! It’s your home, your rules. Whatever you’re comfortable with me doing, I will do! With proper instructions and effective communication, I am there to work for you and your pets.
“That is a great addition—it shows she really understands different cat personalities, from the "spicy" ones who hate grooming to the shy ones. Here is the updated review with those details included: ### Review for Liz **Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐** Liz provided incredible care for my three cats while I was away. It is always a bit stressful leaving a multi-cat household, but Liz handled everything with total professionalism and genuine care. She stayed on top of their specific needs, including: * **Medication & Maintenance:** She reliably administered medicine and kept the litter boxes spotless. Food and water were always fresh and topped off. * **Frank:** I loved the updates about her playing with him; she made sure he got plenty of exercise with his favorite laser toy! * **Rudy:** She even managed to give Rudy a good brushing—something he usually hates when I do it! She clearly has a magic touch. * **Ryan:** For my hider, Ryan, Liz took the time to find her every day just to lay eyes on her and make sure she was safe and doing okay. It’s clear Liz truly loves animals and respects their individual boundaries. I came home to happy, relaxed cats and a tidy home. I’ll definitely be reaching out to her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dependable, patient sitter!”

“Caitlyn is awesome! She checked on my cat for us. She is very patient and reliable, and genuinely loves and cares for animals. She even offered to hang out with my cat little longer. Caitlyn also communicated well and sent me many pictures of my cat😻. Definitely recommend!🧡”

“Very attentive and quick to respond. He came to meet my Camo right away and was super knowledgeable about dog behavior and tricks to keep him happy why we were away. He was easy for me to trust and I would definitely use him again.”

“Valerie, you were awesome with Jesse today!! I so appreciate your continued communication with both visits, it really calmed my heart that you were here for him. I will definitely continue to call on you as long as you're available!!!”

About: Originally from North Italy I have hands-on experience working with dogs through my role as a K9 Search and Rescue Coordinator in Germany before moving here not long ago, where I trained and handled dogs in obedience, tracking, and real-world scenarios. This experience taught me how to stay calm, patient, and attentive while ensuring each dog’s safety and well-being. I’m currently studying Veterinary Medicine, which allows me to better understand animal health, behavior, and care. With over 18 years of experience in customer service and working with people, I bring strong communication, reliability, and attention to detail to every pet I care for. I treat every dog like family and always follow their routine closely to make them feel safe and comfortable. I’m also fluent in English, Spanish, Italian, and French, making communication easy for a wide range of pet parents. I offer reliable weekday availability focused on dog walks and drop-in visits. I’m building pet care as my full-time focus, which allows me to provide consistent, on-time care Monday through Friday. I’m available for daily walks, feeding visits, and check-ins, and I’m happy to maintain your pet’s routine while you’re at work or away. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. With my experience in K9 search and rescue and my ongoing studies in veterinary medicine, I’m trained to stay calm, attentive, and responsive in any situation. I understand animal behavior and how to provide safe, structured, and stress-free care in your home. I carefully follow each pet’s routine, feeding schedule, and any special instructions. During walks and visits, I make sure pets get the right balance of exercise, attention, and care. My goal is to keep your pet happy and give you peace of mind while you’re away. I provide updates and photos after each visit so you always know how your pet is doing.

About: Ever since I was a child, I have been taking care of animals in some capacity. From my time working in shelters across the state all the way to behavioral training, I have seen it all! I have 2 cats currently and a chocolate lab, but have owned cats and dogs throughout my life without pause. I would love to meet your fur babies too! I currently own my own business outside of pet care, which means I am free and available at any time to care for your fur babies! My schedule is completely open, and I am flexible to changes. Trust is vital when leaving your pets in the care of someone else. For me, it is simple: care for them as you’d want someone to care for your fur babies. During my time with your pets, my attention is undivided and attention to detail is thorough. Sure, it’s easy for those in a rush to forget a step or two. With me however, everything is completed to your standards and ONLY your standards!

About: Im available all the time and have a lot of time with my own dog and I have a cat too. I’ve taken care of a senior dog I adopted and trained my current dog pretty well. My day is open. The only thing that’s ever on my calendar is getting my daughters to school. Other than that, I’m usually home. I have a fenced yard and my dog is really friendly. The yard is on the smaller side but still has plenty of places to run around.
“Trina helped us check in on our cat, and responded promptly to my request. She’s professional, courteous, and maintained communication throughout the whole process. She gave our cat some treats, food, checked on her water, and most importantly she gave her some love 😻. My cat enjoyed Trina’s company and was PURRRing on the phone !🧡 Trina was kind enough to offer to check in on my backyard hens when I mentioned that I was little worried about them too. We appreciate all your help and the peace of mind you gave us while we’re away. 🙏”

“Samantha took great care of our two dogs and gave one of them the medicine she needed on time. She sent lots of pictures and helpful updates. Will definitely use her services in the future!”

I also make sure they are introduced to the other members of my family so that they can feel comfortable with new strangers. I make sure that strangers do not attempt to pet my clients; this is for everyone’s safety the dog’s included.

About: My husband and I are blessed to have a totally fenced in home with over three acres. I decided to use this blessing to bless dogs to come and run and play. Dogs were meant to run and roam not be tied up. I so enjoy being outdoors and being around dogs. I have always had dogs even growing up with my family. My father had a heart for animals and I believe that is where my love has come from. I have three dogs of my own and each one has a very special spirit about them. In my spare time, I enjoy going to the rescues and shelters walking the dogs there. I also take rescue puppies into our home and foster them until they are adopted into a loving family. My husband and I work together and we have plenty of time to give special attention to your fur baby. We believe in exercising your pet whether by means of walking, playing with their favorite toy, sitting on the porch just hanging out and also then giving the proper rest as needed. My yard is fenced in for protected play time. While inside your pet will be allowed to be a part of household for special time and then I have a separate area where your pet will be allowed to have quite time and rest in a crate or in a area without a crate as needed.
About: I’ve grown up with multiple dog breeds my whole life. I’ve also owned cats, guinea pigs, and hamsters. I have 2+ years of experience with taking care of bearded dragons and I’ve had a couple visits with snakes, specifically corn snakes. I work with any and all dogs/cats. I also like to send pics/videos of the pets to their owners daily for that reassurance that their fur baby is taken care of with the upmost care! I’m currently a full-time college student. I’m available any day and any time of the week. I’m usually available last minute as well and around holidays if needed. I currently have 4 dogs; 3 Yorkies and 1 Boarder Collie mix. They’re set on a twice per day feeding and their internal clock is set to those times. If I were to be in a clients home, I would do my best to ensure the animal stays in their routine and their feeding/medication is on schedule. They’d get plenty of play times and unlimited cuddles!
About: I’ve been passionate about animals my entire life, and I’ve had the joy of caring for a wide variety of pets over the years. From my very first fish and family cats to now raising three wonderful dogs and my beloved cat, Willow, I’ve developed a deep love and understanding of animals. With years of hands on experience, I know how to provide pets with the attentive, loving care they deserve. I also have recently started the Vet Assistant program at CSM to help further my career in animal care. Whether it’s feeding, grooming, or simply offering comfort and companionship, I treat every animal as if they were my own. With an open and flexible schedule, I’m excited to finally pursue my true passion, working with animals. I have over 6–8 years of experience in pet care and pet sitting, and I’ve cared for a wide variety of animals, from snakes, rabbits, and newborn kittens and puppies to farm animals like pigs, goats, chickens, ducks, and geese. I am also pursuing a career in veterinary medicine! Whether I’m pet sitting or simply helping an animal in need, I do it out of genuine love and compassion. You can feel confident knowing your pet is in caring, capable hands, I’ll treat them like family. All of my pets are fed twice a day with portions based on their weight, and grooming is a regular part of our routine. My biggest dog gets bathed as often as he’ll let me, and the others are brushed regularly because of their long fur. My cat gets her weekly brushing too, and I clip claws as needed! While I don’t need to walk my dogs since we have a fenced yard with a doggy door, I still love taking them on walks around the neighborhood. And of course, playtime is a daily must because let’s be honest, who doesn’t love that?

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Charleston Gardens. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
