“Gretchen is an animal person and a dog lover for sure! Mei Mei fell in love with her right away. Gretchen is a great communicator and responds right away. She took some photos of Mei Mei and kept me informed of her day which was nice of her. She made sure Mei Mei had her food and checked in with me about Mei’s Mei’s potty times before I dropped her off and before I picked her up. Always a good sign of an attentive dog person. Would highly recommend Gretchen. I’m sure she’ll see requests from us in the future.”

“John & Cathrine Are the best ‼️ I left my puppy 5 1/2 months over night and she loved it . John worked with my Sassy and taught her to Sit 💯🏆 iv been truly blessed to have found the Best sitters for my fur baby”

“I'm so relieved I found Peggy and Jamey. I felt comfortable with them immediately at our meet and greet and my dog, Buddy, must have too because he found on a spot on their rug and took a nap! Buddy is 14 years old and he needs some special/extra attention. They were very conscientious and even took notes of the million things I wanted to tell them (Buddy's quirks/habits, schedule, preferences, medical issues, etc.) I noticed that a lot of hosts on DogVacay care for multiple dogs at a time.... Peggy and Jamey were willing to take Buddy as their only dog during the days I reserved... It's like having a personal nanny vs. throwing your kid in daycare! :) I'm always nervous when I have to leave Buddy, but I had a lot more peace of mind leaving him with Peggy and Jamey than I do when I leave him with my family members or friends.”

“Muy contenta con su atencion a layla y nos mantuvo actualizados con fotos y mensajes para ver a nuestra cachorra.. nos encantaria volver a regresar a usar sus servicios. Gracias Mario”

“We don’t need a dog sitter often, but Annie is our “Go to” sitter. We have three dogs that can be loud and demanding, but she had them comfortable and relaxed in minutes. They’ve had experience with Pit Bulls and Dobermans, and nothing our (initially cautious and frightened) dogs did bothered them. Lots of dog toys too to keep them occupied! A definite find in Oxnard.”

About: I grew up in farm country surrounded by animals and have spent a lifetime caring for dogs, horses, and cats. Today, I share my home with two friendly pups—a mini schnauzer and a standard poodle—and a sweet foster labradoodle. I know firsthand the joy dogs bring, and I understand how important it is to trust the person caring for them. Whether it’s daycare or overnight boarding, your dog will be in a calm, loving, and secure home where they’re treated like family. Caring for dogs is a natural part of my day—from morning walks and structured playtime to quiet cuddles and bedtime routines. My own dogs are on a regular schedule that includes outdoor exercise, meals, enrichment, and downtime, and I’m happy to welcome guest dogs into that rhythm. Whether it’s preparing food, administering meds with the food [sorry, not into the mouth for biting reasons] or just making sure each pup feels safe and included, tending to their needs is second nature. I work from home, so I’m able to provide consistent supervision and companionship throughout the day. Caring for dogs is deeply woven into my daily rhythm. My own pups follow a structured routine with meals, playtime, enrichment, and plenty of attention throughout the day. I’m home full-time, so guest dogs enjoy consistent supervision, companionship, and access to a clean, secure backyard—no lonely hours here! While I focus on providing a safe, peaceful environment within my home and yard, I don’t take guest dogs off the property unless pre-arranged. For dogs who need walks beyond the yard, I’m happy to discuss a walking add-on at booking time. My priority is always your dog’s safety, comfort, and well-being.
“Ana María and her family were awesome, sweet and caring with my two dogs which are rescues who are scared of everything and everyone and not very sociable at the beginning but they took great care of them and I picked up two really happy dogs the next day, I definitely recommend her and will for sure come back to her next time we have a plan that doesn’t include our pups”

“Loki had alot of fun this weekend at Annie's place. Loki was all smiles and got alot of play time while i was away for a weeekend trip. Thanks Annie for keeping up with my fur baby's activeness!”

About: I love their independence and how they demand service when they want it. They are different then dogs and that is what makes them so special to me. I am retired and my wife still works, empty nester, flexible schedule We have enclosed patio and parks near by I’d like to go to. I follow the routine of the owners and make sure no stress by being away from Mom and Dad. They are part of my family when they are here and when I am visiting them in their home I’d follow their routine as instructed by my clients.
