“Bonnie was an incredible pet sitter. She communicated with us throughout our vacation and took exceptional care of our dog, cats and home. We will definitely be booking her again. It can be a challenge to find a person who cares for your animals the way you do, Bonnie is a gift!”

“Lani was great taking care of our two senior dogs that have special needs. One is blind, requires medications, and wound care; the other one can’t hear. Lani handled it all with ease and professionalism, communicated well, and the dogs seem very comfortable. Highly recommend!”

“Teri was prompt on arrival, communicative and sent pictures. She provided an update and her dog and Otto really hit it off. We came home to a very happy and tired pup! Thanks Teri and Molly!”

“I had to go out of town for a few days and needed a boarding kennel for my 70lb lab. My kennel that I have used previously closed down operations so I needed to find someplace new. I couldn't find any place I liked so I started searching online for someone to care for my dog at their home. That is how I discovered Rover. I found Charles on Rover and rather than keeping my dog at his home he offered to come stay at my home. Which for me was the best possible outcome. It worked out great. Charles was very respectful of my home and my dog liked him. If I have to board my dog again, Charles will be my first choice. I highly recommend him.”

“Amanda did such a great job taking care of our 3 rescue pitties! We have one puppy and two seniors, each with their own unique traits and needs. Amanda did a phenomenal job at accommodating their needs and keeping them comfy at home while we were away. We appreciate her attentiveness to detail and her communication skills. We will be using her again in the future and highly recommend her for taking care of your babies!”

About: Over 2 years working at Puddleby on the Hill boarding kennel Lifelong dog and cat owner Experience with puppies, senior pets, and high-energy dogs Comfortable with large and small breeds Familiar with administering oral medications Experience handling multiple dogs safely Strong understanding of pet routines and behavior I'm a teacher, so my summers are very flexible and ideal for pet care. I have plenty of availability for walks, drop-ins, and sitting, and I enjoy being active outdoors. During the school year, I'm generally available evenings, weekends, and school vacations. Safety and comfort are my top priorities. I take the time to learn each pet's routine, personality, and any special instructions before providing care. In a client's home, I do my best to keep pets on their normal schedule and make sure they have plenty of exercise, attention, fresh water, and affection. During walks, I stay alert to the environment, use secure leash handling, and prioritize your pet's safety at all times. I also provide regular updates and photos so you can feel confident your pet is happy and well cared for.

About: Hi! I have experience with taking care of dogs and cats since I was a kid. I would always be the one that neighbors and family friends would rely on to make sure their fur babies were cared for while they were away. I care for every cat and dog as though they’re my own and send you as many pictures as you’d like of them while you’re away :) I’ve done this part time since 2021, and just recently switched to full time at the end of 2025. I’ve been using Facebook groups and my town page to find my clients, so I decided to give this a try :) Please reach out if you’re interested! I do this full time, so I usually stay the whole day and night, but sometimes I go out for a couple of hours at a time to help other clients or run on errands. I make sure not to be gone for longer than you say you’re comfortable with. I can take your pups on as many walks as they need! I’m active and love hiking and running, so I can always drive them somewhere to join me on a small hike or run :) I always follow your instructions for whether or not you want your pets leashed when they’re outside. A lot of times, I’ll keep them leashed anyways while letting them out into the yard. I usually stop by at some point before our scheduled time so we can meet each other and I can meet your pets. I usually ask for a note detailing the daily care/routine for your pet, along with important information like emergency phone numbers, and which vet you go to.
“Kristin is absolutely amazing! From start to finish, she provided outstanding care for our dog, Bruce, and truly went above and beyond to make sure he was happy, safe, and comfortable while we were away. She was extremely professional and reliable—always on time, communicative, and proactive. Kristin sent regular updates and photos, which gave me complete peace of mind. It was clear that Bruce wasn’t just being looked after; he was being loved. When we returned home, Bruce was relaxed, happy, and clearly well cared for. Kristin’s dedication, attention to detail, and genuine love for animals truly set her apart. We can’t recommend her highly enough—she’s our go-to from now on!”
“I have used Rover twice now and both times with Erin. It was strange having someone you do not know stay in your house. Like I said, I never used the service before but I really wanted to be able to keep my dogs in their own home. Erin is unbelievable. She is great with the dogs and with my home. I’m not sure I would be able to adjust well in a strangers home, but she does a great job. When I get home, everything is in place as I left it and the dogs are happy and safe. Both of my experiences with Erin have been great. I would trust her again and again with Levy and Frank. ❤️❤️”

About: I have had dogs my entire life. I have taken care of my own dogs as well as friends and neighbors. I have experience with labs, golden retrievers, German shepherds, Rottweilers, and pit bulls mostly but love all dogs. I currently work full time Monday-Friday (this is important to note when booking me for house sitting) and would love to help people with walking their pets/letting them out after work or on the weekends. I can’t have pets in my apartment and greatly miss interacting with dogs! I am very respectful of other people’s homes. I am clean and appreciate instructions/rules on where food, collars/leashes, treats, etc are. I will keep your furry companions company, provide long walks, and scratches of course!
“Selyn was great! We were traveling with our border collie who was nervous in a strange place. We hired Selyn to stay with him while we went to a wedding and let her know he may not do anything but stare at the door until we got back. Selyn was perfect, very calm and waited for him to come to her. She brought toys and a did a great painting activity with him. I highly recommend her!”

About: My experience of caring for pets has started since I was a child taking care of family pets and later getting my own animals. In a professional setting I have been a Vet Tech for 9 years and done house sitting and dog walking for 5 years. During this time I have worked with everything from puppies, to diabetic cats. I also have limited experience working with large animals and farm animals. Needless to say working with animals is a passion of mine. At the moment I work full time as a vet tech which can cause me some weird hours. Despite this I would love to spend my free time caring for your pet. Feel free to message me and see if we can work out a time! Caring for pets in your house is completely up to you. I will follow your instructions for how to properly care for your furry family member and do everything in my power to keep them safe. Even though I work full time I would love to take the time before and after work to drop in and check on your kitties. They tend to get my morning attention and evening attention with just work getting in the way during the day. I care for the clients home by making sure that all of your requirements are met. So whatever you need from me to make everything as comfortable as possible I will do my best to accommodate you.
About: I love and care for my own dog Finnley—my life is truly built around him. I’ll be offering that same level of love and attention to any dog in my care. If you or anyone you know ever needs help, I’d love to be considered. Please feel free to share my name with any family or friends who might be looking! Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I’m home by 2:45 each day, which allows me to be present and attentive in the afternoons and evenings. I take the dogs out for a walk and make sure they get plenty of exercise, attention, and care as part of my normal day. Your dog’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I provide a calm, secure environment where they’ll be well cared for at all times. My dog Finnley is very friendly and loves the company of other dogs, so your pup will have a built-in buddy to keep them happy and comfortable.

About: I have spent lots of time with elderly dogs and cats, and I love ensuring they have the consistent care they need while their humans are away. I have also worked with young pets who are house or litter box training. I also love fish, rodents, and reptiles! If you have a zoo at home, I may be the sitter for you. -Gwen (they/them) I currently nanny a small human part time, so I have plenty of flexibility in my schedule. Week days I am available before 10:30am and after 3:00pm. Weekends I am free all day. Overnights are always available. I deeply value the trust it takes to have someone in your home taking care of your beloved furry friends. I strive to provide care that keeps pets happy, safe, and satisfied while maintaining a calm and clean environment in the home I am visiting.
About: Hi I'm Katie! I've been caring for my personal dogs for over 15 years and have been dog walking / sitting through Rover for over 5 years. I adore dogs and feel happiest when I am outside hiking / walking with dogs. I have also studied and worked as a dog trainer. When your pup stays or walks with me, they'll be having fun and learning something too! We will play, go on fun walks and adventures, and work on basic manners and life skills. I am comfortable caring for all ages, breeds, and sizes. All dogs staying with me will fit into my routine. I wake up early before work to to take care of my dog Phoebe, typically going on hikes in the morning and in the evening we play in my yard. In the spring/summer months we go for additional hikes/walks in the evening. On the weekends we spend the days hiking, swimming, and exploring new places. Another dog fits easily into my schedule, and I will ensure to give the dogs some solo walks / time with me. I treat any dog staying with me as my own -- the dogs safety and happiness is my top priority. Dogs are fed separately, play is monitored, and your dog will be on a leash unless in a fully fenced in area, or until I establish a solid recall with your dog.
“We couldn’t be more grateful for the amazing care Trie provided for our 13-year-old Maltipoo. He has a tough time with separation anxiety and often struggles with eating when we're away, but Trie was absolutely incredible with him. She stayed by his side, took him on several walks a day, and knew exactly how to encourage him to eat. Trie sent us frequent updates and lots of photos, which gave us so much peace of mind. For the first time, we were able to truly relax on vacation knowing our fur baby was in such loving hands. She is incredibly sweet, gentle, kind, and attentive — exactly the kind of person you’d hope to find to care for your pet. We’ll definitely be booking with her again for any future travel!”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Center Barnstead walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Center Barnstead maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Center Barnstead choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Center Barnstead. On Rover:
- 98% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
