“Hayden was a huge help. She went above and beyond for my girl Sadie and made sure she was loved. Sadie seemed so happy when I got back. Hayden was always on time and was in constant communication with me. I will be using her again!!”

“Rachel is great-she has always been available and takes really good care of my fur baby who needs a little extra care with meds and such. She's also prompt at responding to questions. I really appreciate her!”
“Sylvia is TOP NOTCH! She is conscientious, caring, thorough, and communicative. We entrusted her with the care of our four cats while we were out of town. She followed our instructions perfectly and kept us updated with photos and detailed summaries after each visit. Unexpected bonus: she immediately gained the trust and affection of our cat Rambo, who normally runs and hides as soon as he realizes someone who isn’t me, or my significant other, is in the house. If you’re looking for absolute peace of mind while being away from your beloved pets, you’re looking for Sylvia!”

About: I’ve taken care of all different types of dogs in my time. With 3 large breed dogs of my own, I am comfortable training, playing with, walking, and medicating all shapes and sizes. I have first hand experiences with different species, including Reptiles, Birds, cats, and rodents. At my own home I have 2 cats and a dog on daily prescriptions so I am familiar with administering different types of treatment, including insulin, and always strive to keep it as comfortable as possible. I am currently working full time at Southeast Missouri State University as staff, but that won’t stop me from providing the top care for your pets. I can stop before 8am, again at lunch, back at dinner and even a later evening visit if I’m not staying full time. Petcare is already apart of my daily routine. Since I have so many of my own animals I do not accept boarding animals at my own home, for the safety of all pets involved. I strive to keep pets on as close to their regular schedule as possible. I can stay overnight, pop in for walks or day visits, whatever and whenever you need me I will be there!
“Mariah really helped us out when my husband and I made a last minute day trip out of town. I haven’t had the chance to meet her in person since we had already left when she confirmed she could check on dog Jett, but we look forward to meeting Mariah and using her services again. Thank you Mariah!”

About: With my experience from working in a vet I’ve learned how to administer medications, handle dogs that may be difficult to handle, trimming nails, expressing anal glands, care for senior dogs, and the list goes on! I currently have one client who I’ve been working for now, she has 6 dogs, 5 goats and chickens! I love dogs of all ages and sizes and love giving a good belly rub! I currently work part time at Charles Hutson horticulture greenhouse. I will have school starting in fall, but will have an open schedule throughout the day! If I am house sitting I go to the clients home and stay with the pets throughout the day and make sure to let dogs out when needed, give medications when they are needed, and I also stay over night at the house if I am watching them for multiple days.
“Amy and Aaron have been amazing with my puppy! They follow my instructions to a T and always take such great care of him. Amy is very responsive to text messages even when not actively taking care of Bo. I would recommend using them!”

“Haley was amazing with our two kitties! We had some very detailed instructions and she followed everything to a T. She provided clear constant communication while we were away and we felt our kitties were in great hands. Would definitely book again, thank you Haley!”

About: Hi! I grew up on a farm out in the Millersville area with lots of different types of animals. That being said, I’ve never lived a day of my life without a cat or a dog ☺️ While I have no formal animal training, I love my pets (and yours!) as family. I work full-time as a barista and shift supervisor for the hotel and Starbucks in the Casino! While this takes up 8 hours of my day, I am willing to meet your babies before or after my work day. I live in a small duplex with two cats and my small dog (he’s a beagle-basset mix). While I have no fenced in backyard, I would happily take your dogs on a leashed walk through the neighborhood or nearby park. As for at your home, any rules you might have will be followed! I can crate a dog if requested and have watched my MIL’s two dogs for many years, so I’ve got experience in that department.

About: I have always had people come to me to take care of their pets because to me they are family and they deserve that treatment. I am an athlete at SEMO so I don’t get to see animals often, but they are one of my most favorite things in the world. Besides school and sports they would be my main priority and it would mean a lot to take care of them when I am available. I can easily take care of your dog the way you would like me to, but if you feel the need for them to have extra care such as taking walks or playing catch I can do that as well.
“Skyler was great with Stacy and easy to coordinate with. He was able to meet with Stacy and I before his first sitting with her, and all went well in his care. I will definitely be reaching out to him again for drop offs and for overnight trips.”

Shawna took such great care of my cat while I was out of town for a week! It put my mind at so much ease getting her feedback and pictures daily. It was clear that Shawna really took the time to be intentional with her drop-in’s and really paid attention to & loved on my girl. I would absolutely rebook with Shawna again!! :-)

Rachel was the best. First time I left my 2 cats with someone new. She sent me report and pics. And even was so gracious when I texted her when I thought she hadn’t stopped in for the nightly visit. I forgot that I was in a different time zone. She was always there daily taking great care of my fur babies. I will definitely book again with her.

I can’t recommend Chelsea enough. I’d trust her with my boy any day. He doesn’t do well with strangers and she was so patient with him. He also has IBD and had multiple bad bathroom trips and she cleaned it up and got him right every time with no complaints. She was very attentive and responsive, I highly recommend her for any animal needs :)

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
