Safety, trust & environment
I try to follow your instructions for your pet as closely as possible, so I don't disrupt their routine too much. First, I take care of basics: checking food and water and/or walking depending on the service you booked. Second, I take a quick loop through your home to check for pet messes or signs of anything amiss. It never hurts to be safe! The rest of the visit is spent playing and snuggling with your pet, to engage and reassure them.
Information Sylvia C. would like to know about your pet
If your dog has special needs, let me know! For example, knowing that a dog is skittish can help me to approach them in a way that makes them comfortable. Knowing that they are dog-reactive can help me take them for safer, less stressful walks. If it can help me take better care of your furbaby, no detail is too small.
A typical day
On good-weather days, your dogs and I will play outside whenever possible! A good game of fetch or just some time to run and sniff can make a dog’s day! On poor-weather days, I like to make up indoor games for them, to give them some good mental stimulation. Hiding treats for a scavenger hunt, teaching them a new trick, or just cuddling them if that’s what they prefer; just because it’s cold or wet out doesn’t mean that your dog has to be bored!

Medicating Cats A Specialty
Pet care experience
My name is Syl. I have one dog (Zoë Zen) and three black cats (Minerva Mayhem, Vivian Voluble, and Willow Wily). I’ve lived with pets my whole life, and have been a petsitter for friends and family with a wide range of pets. I can provide kind and competent care for your dogs and cats. For my drop-in visits, I don’t just check your pets’ food and water bowls. I clean any messes I find, check your pet over for any issues, and give them plenty of time to play and be petted. If I discover any problems, I will let you know immediately. Your pets are family, and deserve the same respect and care. When I walk a dog, the location depends on your preferences and your dog’s needs. If your dog is reactive toward other dogs, there’s no shame in saying so! If that is the case, I will work out a route that decreases our chances of running into other dogs. A walk should be invigorating for your dog, but not stressful. I’ll do my best to keep it that way. Your rules for your pets are my priority. I know that sometimes pets have allergies, or are frightened of certain things. I will always follow your instructions, because no one knows your pets better than you. Your pets’ well-being matters to me, and I won’t risk it. Most importantly, I will NEVER punish an animal. Instead, I will do my best to redirect them, and reward the desired behavior. I use positive reinforcement methods to train my own pets, and your pets deserve no less.
Reviews

Sy is just great! She asked questions, does what is expected and beyond. She is just so caring & treats our babies like her own.

Did great job and had very helpful feedback back to find what's best fir albus

Five Stars, as always! Thank you, Sylvia!

Sylvia did an amazing job with my pets. I have a somewhat antisocial pitbull who is often afraid of new people and she put in the extra effort to make friends. Took so much weight off my shoulders not having to worry about my pets during a crazy work week.
