“Leslie was wonderful with our first time boarders. She was understanding of their anxiousness and individualized their care based on their needs. She gave them homemade treats and food which they LOVED! We will use Leslie again.”
“Lenore took great care of my dog. Scout and her dog, Rook, seemed to get along and it was great to know that she was staying in a “dog friendly house.” It can be hard to leave your dog behind with a stranger, but I felt confident that she would be well cared for.”
“From start to finish Rebecca and Nick were very responsive to our inquiries, calm and kind upon meeting them. They have a beautiful home which they have opened up for four-legged friends. We would recommend them. Note: they are located atop a mountain so get ready for a climb and distracting views of the San Juan Islands.”
“We highly recommend Lisa as a pet sitter! She took care of our dog, Mr. Beckett while we were out of town. Not only did she provide excellent care for Mr. Beckett, but she also went above and beyond to ensure he felt loved and comfortable while we were away. We enjoyed the daily texts and pictures showing us he was safe and having a great time. Our nervousness about leaving Mr. Beckett for the first time was greatly reduced after we saw how well he was doing with her. Lisa would take him and her dog Ollie on daily adventures at the local parks. He enjoyed playing with Ollie and seemed very happy there. We will gladly use Lisa’s services in the future, she is trustworthy, loving and very in tune to our dog’s needs.”
“Susan always takes great care of our little, slightly anxious dog. We’re repeat customers because we trust her and know she’s reliable, communicates well, and cares about the dogs.”
“Timber enjoyed his week with Kelsey. We appreciated the fenced yard and picture updates of Timber playing and having fun. Timber seemed calm and settled when we picked him up. We will definitely book with him again!”
“Amazing! Highly recommended, was in a pinch for safe boarding for my Dane and after four days Hendrix came home and slinked upstairs to our bed to pass out for 5hrs. Will be making this our primary for additional care. Highly recommended!!”
“Here’s the translation: It was Chai’s first time staying away from home, and we treated it as a trial run for a longer stay. Minerva was very open and kind about all our worries and questions, and she made sure to take care of Chai in every detail, always sending us updates and little news. Now Chai will be staying with her for 15 days, and we’re certain she’ll be extremely well cared for, with lots of love and attention.”
“Very nice very caring. Arranged a greet and meet before boarding starts to get familiar with my dog and cat. Provide photos and videos everyday. Will revisit again! Thank you!”
“Great second stay. We'll keep using Cade as needed. Liva is a happy girl there and well cared for. I feel at ease and unworried while we're gone. Cade is easy to communicate with and keeps us updated with messages and pictures. Thank you!”
“Heather was great about getting back to me in a timely manner for planning last minute, and sent lots of photos of my pup for me. It looked like Dolly had a great time there and appeared to be very comfortable when i arrived to pick her up, really appreciate the help and will be using Heather again in the future!”
“I needed a boarder last minute for a trip and I’m so happy Daisy took Mijo in, he had an awesome time! He went for walks and played his heart out. I can tell mijo was lovingly cared for while I was away and I would definitely board mijo again with Daisy. 10/10 would recommend.”
“Avigail is a wonderful lady! She is calm and softly spoken. Tia is a sensitive Labradoodle with some allergies. Avigail made sure she totally understood Tia’s needs and her personality. We came home to a pup who was extremely well loved and cared for! If you are looking for someone who loves your “fur baby” and does a 💯% job of making sure your instructions are followed…Avigail should be your choice! We will be requesting Avigail when we need a competent “sitter” ❤️”
“Yanan is the perfect sitter. She and her family provided amazing care than I could have ever imagined. She also sent me lots of photos and videos. I recommend entrusting your precious family to her. In addition. . . She gave my dog a super cute her-made dress! Genius! I'm really glad I met her. Thank you again, Yanan”
“Christina is the best person we’ve encountered for dog sitting so far. She is not only full of love for dogs, but also a true PROFESSIONAL with strong knowledge of veterinary medicine and dog behavior. She is attentive, responsible, and makes us feel completely at ease knowing our dog is in such capable and caring hands.”
“Very good stay for my dog. Roxanne is a real pro & not only made my timid dog a part of her family, but she also kept me informed as to how she was doing (including photos). We will be using her again the next time we need to board our dog.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Camp Orkila home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Camp Orkila.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Camp Orkila sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
