“My senior dog is unaccustomed to being alone and I’m seldom without him because I work from home. When I needed to be downtown for an all-day conference, I was fortunate to find Jan on Rover.com. Jan instills confidence and assurance in the warm and professional way she communicates and conducts bookings. She was flexible about the drop-off time and very accommodating with Toby’s schedule. Full disclosure: I’m one of those annoying fretting pet parents who constantly worries about their dog so it is a big deal for me to leave him with someone else. By time our booking came around I had no qualms about leaving Toby with Jan. I wasn’t wrong because Toby thoroughly enjoyed spending the day with Jan (and Earl). Jan is experienced, intuitive and understands dogs (and people). She took excellent care of my boy. To reassure me, she checked-in throughout the day which was much appreciated. About: I’ve loved and lived with dogs and cats my entire life and can’t imagine a home without animals. As a longtime healthcare professional and nurse, caregiving comes naturally to me, and I’m attentive to the subtle changes in behavior, appetite, energy, and comfort that can tell us how an animal is doing. I’m comfortable with senior pets, special needs, and medications, but most of all, I simply love being with animals, whether walking a dog, cuddling on the couch, or patiently earning a cat’s trust. About: I grew up surrounded by both dogs and cats, so caring for animals has always been a natural part of my life. From an early age, I learned to appreciate their individual personalities, respect their boundaries, and recognize when they need attention, space, exercise, or simply some quiet time. While living in South Korea, I volunteered extensively with Dasom Rescue( in Seoul, Non-Profit Organization), caring for rescued dogs from a wide range of backgrounds and with many different personalities. I also volunteered as a flight companion volunteer, helping approximately 20 rescued dogs travel from South Korea to their new families in the United States and Canada. Today, I have two dogs of my own, rescued dog from Kill Shelter in Korea, whom I truly consider part of my family. I’m attentive to their daily routines, including walks, feeding, dental care, brushing, and supplements. As a dog mom myself, I know how hard it can be to trust someone else with your babies. Our dogs are family, and choosing the right person to care for them isn’t something we take lightly. About: Hi, I'm Irene :)! I'm an all around animal lover, but especially dogs. I have a husky named Nova, so I have experience caring for and understanding dogs and cats of different personalities (huskies are part cat too, right?). Although I enjoy activity daily, I also can handle the needs and care for lower energy/senior dogs. I'm responsible, punctual, and just enjoy being around animals.
