“Gwen is prompt, knowledgeable, cautious and caring. We have a senior cat with diabetics and a need to get insulin injections twice a day. Gwen has experience and is confident enough to be great for his medical care. Luna our 17 yr old cat loves her. I’d be a repeat customer if we lived closer. As for now her support a few times a year is truly a lifesaver.”

“Finding someone to care for your home and pet-family, especially a young kitten, can be nerve-wracking, but Victoria was great. She provided just the right amount of updates on our cats, which gave us peace of mind. We came home to a clean house and happy pets. There's no doubt in our minds we’d use Victoria again.”

“Thank you Annika for taking great care of our 4 dogs! Knowing that they were in good care allowed us to enjoy our time away for the family wedding. The great communication while we were out of town really helped us so we didn't miss the dogs so much! We highly recommend Annika for any pet related care! She gets to know your pet and forms a bond which reduces the stress on you and your pets. Thank you again for being so awesome!”

About: As a dog owner myself and a passionate volunteer for local animal rescue organizations over the past 6 years, pet care is truly my life's passion. Working closely with rescue dogs and puppies has taught me incredible patience, deep empathy, and how to read subtle animal body language, especially with pets that are anxious, shy, or need extra reassurance. I know how to handle different temperaments and create a stress-free environment. I promise to treat your furry family member with the exact same dedication, love, and high standard of care that I give to my own pets and the rescue animals I help I work from home full-time, which means I can provide round-the-clock care, frequent potty breaks, and constant companionship for your pets. My weekends are fully open for boarding, dog walking, and drop-in visits. I am very flexible and can easily adapt to your pet's regular feeding and walking schedule without any issues. When caring for pets in your home, I treat your space with the utmost respect. I strictly follow your specific instructions regarding feeding, medication, and house rules. I make sure doors and gates are securely locked, and I keep a close eye on your pet to ensure they are safe and happy.

About: I have a literal lifetime of experience with dogs. From the moment I was born to now, I've never gone more than a few months without at least one dog in my life. Most have been rescues, so I know how to deal with shy or sensitive dogs. I've even had experience taking care of dogs with special needs and handicaps, as well as seniors. Without any major obligations at the moment, I'm free to focus on taking care of your pet to the best of my ability. I'm already the primary caregiver for my own two dogs, so it's something I'm going to be doing anyway. I take the safety of animals extremely seriously. I will always seek to learn about a prospective client's specific needs and limitations. I am very protective of my own dogs- possibly to the point of excess in some cases- and you can be sure that I will extend that to any dogs in my care, regardless of duration.
“We were so worried about leaving Lilo, our 10 week old Goldendoodle with someone else for 2 nights while we were at a wedding. Steph was fantastic, sent pictures regularly and updates , replied to our msgs quickly and helped us relax about it. She stayed for the 2 nights in our home, taking care of Lilo. Steph was patient with our puppy who of course is also a tiny landshark at 10 weeks. We definitely recommend Steph.”

“I am beyond impressed how amazing Damla and Leon were with deezel. Deezel is a high energy puppy in training and they went above and beyond to take care of him. They had amazing communication. Multiple check ins and pictures were sent. They always checked in with me before wanting to do something with deezel. They have the energy and patience for a puppy who requires a lot of attention and needs a lot of reinforcement. The house was better then I left it. I am impressed with their service and booked them again immediately. Thank you for treating my puppy so well and reassuring me when I was away.”

“Rawan made this process so easy..from helping me with the booking to making me comfortable to leave a stranger in my h9me with Pancake. Our worries about travelling arecover! Thanks so much!”

“Melissa is an amazing person! She looked after our Tabby Kitty Boy for 9 days as a House sitter. She took such great care of our baby! She gave timely updates with videos and pictures - we never had to wonder about how is he doing - thanks to her proactiveness and such love towards our kitty boy. She went a step ahead and ensured the house was clean and handed it over in such a good state! I am totally booking her care again - our kitty was super happy and looked after! So much so that he misses Melissa! Would recommend her BIG TIME! She is amazing!”

About: I have my own dog Wilky who I have been caring for since we got him in 2020. Since him he has sparked a light in my life with animals. I now am luckily surrounded by dogs always from walking/watching friends pups, to spending everyday with my best friend Wilky. I also have had cats my entire life and have always been animal caregiver. I used to volunteer at the humane society in my home town when my parents did not let me get a pet for the house. I am a dancer/dance instructor, and have some extra time in my week so I thought, why not walk other dogs/hangout with other pups who are in need! I am right by the trails and walk my mothers dog Finn for her every day and I know he would love to walk with some friends! I am an animal lover and would love to help you out and care for your furry family member. I currently just finished a contract and have a couple months off of work so I am free and flexible for all animal needs and hope to make some new furry friends! I have a home with a backyard, a sweet pup and kitty who love other animals! I also live right by the forest trails in LaSalle which is a great place to walk.

Looking forward to meeting your dogs :) I won’t be working in the summer, so this will be my full time job! (I am a teacher and off in the summers) ! I have a house that is fully fenced and gated. About: Hello 👋 there! My name is Michelle. I am NEW to professional housesitting for furry loved ones(July 2026). I will be serving Windsor-Essex County, including Lakeshore (Belle River), Ontario—and beyond! Thank you so much for looking at my profile. Reach out when you are ready! ~ Michelle 🧡 🧡 WHY I CHOSE ROVER I first learned more about Rover through PetWatch, which gave me a Rover coupon when I rescued my coonhound Hunny + registered her microchip with Petwatch. I had heard Rover being recommended within the pet-care community, including by veterinarians. Then I heard from my dear friend, Jacquie in St. Catherine's who started her platform on Rover + is happily busy. I looked into the app + value the service fees I will be sharing with Rover because they will support the platform that connects us, provide ease of booking + payment tools, + Rover offers protections + safeguards for pet parents, pets + sitters alike. After devoting so much of my life to my 30- yr nursing career, my marriage + raising my children, I am finally learning how important it is to follow MY own dreams, hobbies + passions too. Self-care, time in nature + new adventures have become especially meaningful during this stage of empty-nesting. 🏡 HOUSE SITTING +BEYOND CARING FOR YOUR FURRY PET(S). And so begins my new adventure: caring for pets, AND homes + gardens— While you are away, I can provide a wider range of services tailored to YOUR needs—which happens to fulfill mine too. It truly is a win-win! I am discovering a whole new passion for organizing my friends’ + family’s homes, loving up their pets, and caring for their lawn + gardens. Who knew?! My soul knew. The universe ✨ knew. I just needed to listen. 🐾 MY LIFE WITH ANIMALS I have over 30 years of experience caring for dogs + cats and have always enjoyed sharing my life with animals of different breeds, sizes, ages + unique personalities. I currently have a very gentle mama: my 5-year-old, 59-lb Black + Tan Coonhound named Hunny. She loves van rides, camping, kayaking, beaches, conservation areas, trails + neighbourhood walks with me. There is no furry friend or human she meets who doesn’t love her and vice versa. I raised two Rhodesian Ridgebacks from puppies. Major lived to 11½ + LOVED flyball, so I still love playing fetch with dogs who enjoy retrieving. Maggie lived to 13 + ran beside me when running was my passion. Nowadays, I prefer to slow down. I love walking through neighbourhoods with big shade trees rustling, admiring flowerbeds with monarchs + bumblebees, listening to the birds singing songs ( especially Cardinals). Giving dogs sniffing time is so important for their mental well-being, just like us! After my two Ridgebacks, I fell in love with RESCUING Coonhounds. Beau Beauregard, Zellie Zoo Zoo + Belvey Belvedere have all crossed the beautiful Rainbow Bridge to be with my son, Mark—Forever 16; 2017. 🌈 Every one of these losses has taught me more lessons about love, patience + giving of SELF through the privilege of caring for another living being. As an RN of over 30 years, mum to my children and pets, I do not take special needs lightly. I am calm, patient, observant + affectionate, and I am very comfortable following detailed routines, medication instructions, including oral medications + giving injections. I know how important routine toileting is + attentive personal care. If a pet wears briefs, I am a bit obsessed about keeping them clean, dry + comfortable while protecting their dignity because of my years of caring for our sweet boy Belvey Belvedere. I can handle doggies who need an increase in FREQUENCY of visits (like every 2 hours) for more frequent attention, potty opportunities + brief changes. My nursing experience has also taught me to pay attention to changes in behaviour, appetite, special diets, mobility + overall well-being. Before long, I develop a deep bond with my furry friends—and I miss them when our time together ends. If you need me to stay in your home, I am more than happy to watch over your pets, home, mail, garbage/recycling, indoor plants, lawn + gardens. (Let me hear about any other agreed-upon household needs want to have done). I love playing in gardens, + I am also great at helping make a garden vision come to life. I love creating a surprise for someone to come home to. It is one of my love languages! Nothing makes my heart smile more than hearing that the result surpassed what someone had envisioned. 🌻 I have also recently discovered how much joy I get from organizing! Yes! I love to be distracted by organizing basements & closets + kitchens. It actually makes me feel needed. I know how busy + stressful life is + things just pile up. If you would like additional organizing or garden projects completed while you are away, we can discuss those separately ahead of time so we are both clear about the project + expectations. Your home will be treated with respect. My goal is for you to return to a home that feels peaceful, welcoming and fresh. 🏡 HOUSE SITTING & 🐾 30 or 60 min WALKS AND quick economical DROP-INS too! I have a very flexible schedule right now as I am trying to build up my clientelle on ROVER. I am available for pet care overnight at your home, throughout the week, including weekdays and weekends. Just try to give me a heads up when you think you will need me for your vacations, or work schedule and I will do my best to accommodate you + your furry pet. I am devoted to my best friend 🧡 hound dog, Hunny every day of course but I am opening my heart up to helping other furry pet owners who need me. I can provide every 2 hour frequency (if needed) potty breaks, walks, companionship + stay overnight at your place so you can rest assured that your pet(s) are safely waiting for you at home when you return. My flexible availability this summer allows me to adapt to your pet’s usual routine. I am excited to meet your family soon. I journal every day, + I take photos everywhere I go. I love capturing the little moments that remind us to be present: a happy dog sniffing something fascinating, a cat curled up in a favourite patch of sunlight, a peaceful walk, or a funny expression that tells an entire story. You will receive photos + updates while you are away, + you and I may end up with a few favourite memories to keep for years to come. 🧡 MY PROMISE TO YOU My focus is on reliability, trust and peace of mind. I will provide dependable care + treat your dog, cat and home with the same respect + attention I want for my own. I am excited to build a clientele of new furry friends—+ perhaps some new human friends too. 🧡 I want to make your time away from home as comfortable and stress-free as possible, while making sure your pet(s) feels safe, loved + genuinely cared for. Your pet’s happiness is mine too! I follow each pet’s normal routine and your instructions carefully so they feel safe + comfortable in their own home. I am attentive to doors, gates, leashes, feeding schedules + medications, + I do not leave a pet unsecured, off- leash unless it is in your own backyard, of course. Your home will be treated with respect. My goal is for you to return to a home that feels peaceful, welcoming and cared for.

Randi put our minds at ease while we were out of the state for a long weekend. We’ve never left our dogs with anyone besides family before so we were naturally a little anxious, but we have no regrets having Randi stay with them! We can home to very happy dogs.

We truly couldn’t have asked for a better house cat sitter. Victoria was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and dependable, and went above and beyond in every way. Our cat normally will be distant, aloof and slow to trust, yet he warmed up to Victoria remarkably fast—something that almost never happens. Her calm, intuitive, and genuinely caring approach made all the difference. I was truly amazed witnessing the bond the two created with each other. We came home to a happy, relaxed cat and a perfectly cared-for home, which speaks volumes. Having someone this trustworthy and attentive gave us complete peace of mind. She is very pleasant to converse with when giving daily updates. We would book her again in a heartbeat and recommend her without hesitation.

Ashton was fantastic, couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. Our pets adored her immediately, even our very shy cat felt comfortable with her right away. She left our house clean and our pets so happy. I would recommend her to anyone in need of pet care and would book her again in a heartbeat. Thank you Ashton!

Abdullah was a great sitter for my old pup, had prompt communication and pictures, and followed the notes for feeding and walking times. My dog is older in life, about 75 lbs, with limited use of his hind legs and takes daily medication. Abdullah was able to maneuver him into his wagon, help him while outside in the grass, and take care of any accidents. It was a great experience working with Abdullah from initial communication about the booking to post trip follow-up.

FAQs for House Sitting - Windsor
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Windsor on Rover is $46.62 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 88 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Windsor. Enter your postal code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Windsor maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Windsor walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Windsor choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
