“Amazing job! Took such great care of my cats and would absolutely recommend to anyone who is going away. I got lots of updates and he let me know when he was there and was very communicative.”
About: Hello, I'm Leah and I've been fortunate to live for 20 years on Tla-o-qui-aht territory. I got to share over 14 of those beautiful years with my faithful companion, Daisy. We lost our beloved girl to old age early this year. So, we are for the time being a family with no dog. I'm offering dog care and walking to locals and visitors to Tofino. We live in a house with a big yard, near the field and trails in town. We have a memory foam dog bed with a washable cover and we can accommodate one dog at a time for overnight stays at our house. I have a flexible schedule as I work from home. I can offer dog care any time of day, let me know about your needs. I will keep your pet on a leash while we get to know each other. I will discuss the amount and types of treats you're OK with. I'm happy to listen to your unique circumstances and customize care.
“Samiksha is very responsive and attentive. I can see really cares about the pets she looks after and truly takes good care of them and their specific needs. Looking forward to having her care for Izzy again!”

About: Dogs are my passion. I connect deeply with them, offering gentle, loving care that makes every pup feel secure, happy, and cherished. Throughout my life, I’ve spent time with dogs and love being outdoors with them, whether walking, playing, or simply enjoying nature together. I naturally develop strong bonds, especially with small, affectionate dogs, and take pride in providing care that’s attentive, reliable, and filled with love. I work from 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM Monday through Friday, so I’m available for pet care in the afternoons on weekdays. I also have full availability on weekends, making it easy to accommodate walks, drop-ins, and extra time with your dog. Keeping pets safe, happy, and comfortable is my top priority. During walks or visits, I stay attentive to their needs and behavior. For in-home care, I follow owners’ instructions closely, maintain a calm, tidy space, and give plenty of love, attention, and companionship. I form strong connections with every dog, especially small or sensitive pups, helping them feel secure, cared for, and truly happy while you’re away.
About: Walking just isn’t the same without a smiley goof by your side. Life time of experience walking and enjoying the companionship of pups. I have experience with reactive dogs and understand the care that goes into them. I have also volunteered at the local animal shelter here in Tofino as their dog walker. Available to work in mornings or evenings, and occasional afternoons if the time permits, depending on the length of walks I may be able to fit it into my breaks at work as well! I’m very good at following directions to a point. Whatever care you need in your home I will be sure to respect. I believe that communication is the key to a happy and safe home

Many sitters respond to requests in under an hour. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once.
Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.
A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.
Whether you’re at the office for the day or travelling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer poop breaks during a Tofino stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.
Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover based on what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.
You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:
- Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
- House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
- Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.
Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Tofino choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
