“My wife and I were very happy with Jodi. We were out of town for a week and she took care of our 2 cats. She was on time for their breakfast and dinner feedings. She cleaned the litterboxes as directed and washed the cat dishes. She spent quality time with the cats and provided us with detailed updates and pictures. Highly recommend.”

Mango is 2 years old and is pretty high energy and Kelsey makes sure she has plenty of exercise by taking her on walks. About: I've been an animal lover my entire life and have spent hours volunteering at the TBDHS, along with pet sitting and walking my neighbour's dog! I have my own, high-energy dog (Ellie, husky-German shepherd mix) from Northern Critters in Need. Some activities that I do with my dog (and neighbour’s dogs) are hikes, bike rides, the park, and more. I'm used to large dogs pulling occasionally! I also have two cats (Trix and Roux), who are also rescues. Roux is the sweetest cat that flops when you pick her up (kind of like a ragdoll cat), and Trix will talk (meow) at you when she's ready for your attention. While volunteering at the TBDHS, I would do basic care (feeding, brushing, playtime, etc.) and take the dogs for walks and socialize with them until they found their forever homes! I love going for daily walks with my dogs or my neighbour's dogs! I'm available in the afternoon and evening primarily, but can make exceptions for morning and nighttime as well. Since having large and high-energy dogs, I am very used to an active lifestyle. When I take them on hikes, walks, and bike rides, I'm used to them pulling on the leash when they are overly excited. I can (usually) calm them down by patting their chest-area or continuing on our way if necessary.

“Lindsay is the biggest animal lover I know. She is so caring towards animals and will spend time with them whenever she can. She has fostered many pets including a puppy named Maggie and a cat named Gert. As her roommate I have seen firsthand how capable she is at caring for animals.”

About: With a lifetime immersed with pets, I am comfortable around both cats and dogs. Whether it be their early weeks to their senior years, I will be there when you can't and care for them the same way I would for my own animal. I will ensure they are being cared for up to your standards and clean up after them if necessary. I have no issue with small or large animals as I grew up and cared for two gentle giants. I'm very familiar with all stages of animal life, from the puppy/kitty stage to their last years. I am currently a university student who is not working, which means I have plenty of free time. My university schedule is very flexible considering I am completely online. I am frequently having appointments, and I reflex that as best I can on Rover. Please let me know if you need care on a day I am unavailable and I can see what we can do! Please let me know if there is anything specific that your pet needs. From inside to outside the house, I will care for your pet and make sure they are safe. Depending on how you do things, I will take care of your pets how you'd like.

“We booked Steph for drop in kitty care visits while we were away over Christmas. We could not have asked for a better cat sitter!! Steph stayed with our kitty for longer than the 30 minutes daily that we paid for. She sent updates and pictures daily. Litter was scooped, cat was fed, treats and cuddles were given. Steph went out of her way to clean up litter that our cat had kicked all over the floor - she vacuumed and our house looked cleaner when we returned than when we left! I am so happy to have found a cat sitter in the city I can trust. I will be rebooking with Steph.”

About: I’ve had dogs for 20+ years, while I lived with my parents we fostered Australian shepherds and in 2015 I adopted one of our fosters. Her name is Olive. As well I have a cat and his name is Korin. I love having animals at home with our kids. I’m currently on maternity leave so my schedule is quite flexible. My son starts school from 8-12 so anything outside drop off and pick up times are the best for me and the baby I have a lovely fenced in yard for my girl, I love playing with our animals and lots of snuggles are always had in our home.

About: I have grown up with dogs in my house and taken care of other animals on our farm. I love dogs and will take excellent care of them when walking. I am a student at Lakehead University and will have plenty of time in between my classes and sports to walk your dog. I have open time throughout the day and I am very flexible with walking time. I have a fenced backyard and can easily keep care of your dog. I can run with your dog if you want them tired for when you get back to them.

About: I’ve grown up with all kinds of animals, basically since day one. I’ve cared for family and friends’ dogs, cats, and small animals of all types and ages! I am currently a student working part-time, and I spend most of my time at home with my own cat. My balance of school and work has left me with a little spare time on my hands, which is of course devoted to my kitty for now! Experience with both pet sitting and babysitting has given me experience with caring for a live dependent in someone else’s home. I am flexible to heed any instruction and preferences that the owner has, whether watching the pet in their home or my own.

“I have known Erica for 3 years now, ever since she was a first year student at Lakehead University. From the minute they met, Erica and my daughter became instant friends. Since I live in Thunder Bay, and Erica's family is southern Ontario, I have stepped up to be Erica's Thunder Bay mom. Erica loves all animals, and has recently become very attached to my daughter's new Australian Shepherd puppy named Harlow. Whether on a hike at Centennial Park or a trip to the Starbuck drive thru for a "pup cup", Erica is right beside Harlow's side. Erica is a very responsible and is always successfully juggling full time studies with a part time job. I have used Rover in the past for my dog, and I think working for Rover would be a great fit for Erica because it would allow to be outside, spend time with animals and give her the flexibility she needs to work around her school schedule. Erica will graduate with her undergrad in April 2021, and I couldn't be more proud of her accomplishments. This is not likely the end of the educational road for Erica, and I would be thrilled if she continues her studies in Thunder Bay.”
