I've been an animal lover my entire life and have spent hours volunteering at the TBDHS, along with pet sitting and walking my neighbour's dog! I have my own, high-energy dog (Ellie, husky-German shepherd mix) from Northern Critters in Need. Some activities that I do with my dog (and neighbour’s dogs) are hikes, bike rides, the park, and more. I'm used to large dogs pulling occasionally! I also have two cats (Trix and Roux), who are also rescues. Roux is the sweetest cat that flops when you pick her up (kind of like a ragdoll cat), and Trix will talk (meow) at you when she's ready for your attention. While volunteering at the TBDHS, I would do basic care (feeding, brushing, playtime, etc.) and take the dogs for walks and socialize with them until they found their forever homes!

Since having large and high-energy dogs, I am very used to an active lifestyle. When I take them on hikes, walks, and bike rides, I'm used to them pulling on the leash when they are overly excited. I can (usually) calm them down by patting their chest-area or continuing on our way if necessary.

I wanted to share my experience with Christine W. for the benefit of anyone considering booking her. I had been using Christine for a few weeks to walk my dog, Duke, three times a week. Last week, she asked if we could change this week’s schedule, and I was happy to accommodate her. We agreed that she would walk Duke on Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday. Unfortunately, on Tuesday, she did not show up for the scheduled 11:00 a.m. walk and did not contact me to let me know she was unable to attend. I reached out to her twice and was eventually told that she had gotten caught in the rain. I then offered to have her come at any time later that day so that the walk could still be completed, but I received no further response. When I expressed that I felt the lack of communication was unprofessional, Christine told me that she would no longer be walking my dog. I understand that things happen and that schedules sometimes need to change. My concern was not that she was unable to make the original appointment—it was the lack of communication and the fact that the service I had booked was ultimately not provided, despite my willingness to accommodate her. I am posting this simply so that other potential clients are aware of my experience. Christine was pleasant during the time she did walk Duke, but unfortunately, the way this situation was handled left me disappointed and without a dog walker on short notice. I would have appreciated better communication and a more professional approach to resolving the situation
Christine took very good care of out two cats. Plants too. Would hire again.
Christine was available last min and really helped our family out to check in on our puppy when we were tied up with work and activities. She kept him company and brought him outside to play in the backyard. He looked very happy and wasn’t as worried when we got home later than usual. It gave us piece of mind to know he was being well cared for
trustworthy and reliable sitter, took great care of my cat while I was on vacation!
Took such good care of our cat! The update pictures were too cute. Made it easier to relax on vacation knowing she was in such good hands with Christine!
Christine was great! Helped us out last minute and I could tell my pup had a good day! It’s tough trusting someone with your puppy but Christine’s reviews and experience made it easier. Glad we hired her and will again in the future if needed!

Schedule
I love going for daily walks with my dogs or my neighbour's dogs! I'm available in the afternoon and evening primarily, but can make exceptions for morning and nighttime as well.
