“Adrienne is our go-to sitter for as long as she plans to host pets. She's a lovely person, and goes out of her way to make sure Viktor's stays with her are comfortable, exciting, and safe. Thank you for everything!”

“Elizaveta sent lots of photos and updates throughout my dog’s stay with her. She went above and beyond with multiple walks every day and my dog seemed very happy to stay with her”

“Paula was great with our cat. She is very reliable, communicative, and clearly has a genuine love for animals. She followed the few instructions carefully, sent regular updates and photos, and went above and beyond to make sure our cat was well taken care of while we were away. We would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter!”

“Jodi watched my 2 year old lab for 2 days and 1 night. She was wonderful, and even arranged for a meet and greet the week before his stay so that we could get to know her. She was so reassuring, you can tell that she knows what it’s like to leave behind your cherished pet. She took detailed notes when asking about my dog and sent lots of updates and pictures while I was away. Would recommend without hesitation. Thanks, Jodi!”

“Amanda was amazing with our Sophie! Sophie tends to be nervous around new people but she warmed up to Amanda and her family so fast! We felt comfortable our entire vacation knowing our girl was being taken care of in the best way! Amanda sent photo updates and videos which were awesome. So happy we found a caring pet sitter for our dogs. ❤️”

About: I had a dog growing up, from a puppy to 14 years old. I trained him as a puppy and took care of his daily needs. I have since rescued two dogs of my own while living in Thunder Bay. One was adopted at 5 years old and I have been able to continue his training, the other is a new puppy. I work two weeks on two weeks off. During my two weeks of work I have many on call days which allows me to be around to walk and check in on pets. I have time during my two weeks off to pet sit and be home to care for your pets. I have a fenced in yard and two dogs at home. One is 7years old and the other is a puppy full of energy. They like the play but they also like to nap. They love hikes and play time. I have two types of crates and beds if needed during the stay.
“Anjali was awesome, made us feel super welcome and kept me updated hourly with photos and videos. Walked our pup and socialized her with her cat and other dogs on the walk. Our pup loves going to Anjali and gets very excited as we go towards their front door, I would definitely recommend Anjali!”

“Yuleizi took excellent care of my little one! Animosh can sometimes struggle with change and new people but seemed absolutely comfortable with Yuleizi and her home. I had great communication and got many pictures of my kitty. I would absolutely ask Yuleizi to watch my Ani again!”

“Stephanie was great with my girl, who is high energy and attention-seeking. She sent lots of photos and videos of her over the weekend and was super responsive to questions! Ruby even got her first introduction to cats :) She came back to us tired and happy.”

About: Ive had all kinds of pets my entire life. I've been doing rover consistently for the past 2 years. I just moved back to Thunder Bay and would love to meet you and your pets! ☺️I can walk dogs on and off leash and can even teach them a trick or two. I have a house with a fenced yard. Please let me know if your dog is aggressive because I have a small cat and a springer. Don't hesitate to reach out with any requests! I work weekend nights and I'm free all day during the week. I require at least 1 day advance notice but will make exceptions if needed! I walk my own dog daily and take her out multiple times a day ( shes very well house trained and will let me know) I spend a lot of time taking care of our animals whether that's feeding them, training them or just hanging out with them.

King absolutely loves his stays with Adrienne! He is always so sad to leave because they have such a good time together. Since Christmas is coming up, they played dress up with some Christmas wear and King would rather chew it then wear his Santa hat! It’s always an absolutely pleasure to have Adrienne watch my baby while I go away for work.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
