Zola is great! She’s really good with our two husky X dogs. She’s professional, friendly, and knowledgable. I love that we got a write up on how everything went, right down to distance and bathroom breaks. She even sent us pictures of them on their outing. Our boys came back very happy campers.

About: I've been a dog owner of Labradors for the past 30 years, until recently. A few months ago I said goodbye to my boy Fletcher, and life is just not the same without a dog. I am a fairly active 52 year old who lives alone, and quietly, with a fenced yard and Vickers Park nearby. I go to my family's camp in the summer, and would like to be able to take your dog with me for a good swim and hike! My house has always been a dog house. I do love to travel, so I know what it's like to have someone care for your dogs while away, and the worries and trust that go with such a responsibility. Someday I will get another dog, but until then, I would love to welcome yours into a safe, calm, environment, with lots of love, fun and outside time. I am currently free and flexible to adapt to your dog's schedule. I am the only one in the house so I am able to be present for your dog and hang out with him or her as much as they'll let me! I have a fully fenced yard and a dog friendly 2 bedroom bungalow. One room is a spare so can be used to put crates or beds if dogs are nervous or want alone time. I will never kick a dog off my bed if they are willing to keep me company!

About: am a true animal lover from the bottom of my heart. I would meet so many people in the neighbourhood because I would always ask to pet and visit their animals. Starting when I was about 12, I would ride my bike to people’s homes to feed, empty litter boxes and of course show so much love to their pets; even with a slight allergy I couldn’t resist! As I became a teenager, I was commonly asked to stay at the homes belonging to my parents friends and my own coworkers because they knew I was trustworthy, so loving and would care deeply for their animals. I am a pet parent myself and know the importance of being able to trust those coming into your home and care for your beloved animals. I can absolutely guarantee I will show your pets so much love, and respect your home so you are able to have absolute peace of mind while you are away. I also have no issue caring for senior dogs or puppies, I am patient and wholeheartedly only want them to know love. I am currently a shift worker, so although my availability changes, there are only 2 days out of every week that I am not available unless it’s after 7pm. I work in a central location so I can drive to really any area throughout the city. I do not have children so I’m very flexible with times that I am needed as well as short notice requirements I will respect anything that is brought to my attention by my clients; whether it’s dietary restrictions, training habits to uphold, cleanliness, usage of gates, and anything else that is required of me to guarantee their trust

About: I’m an animal lover who has spent years caring for pets! Over the years, I have gained experience through house, dog, and cat sitting for my family and friends. These experiences have made me more comfortable with different personalities, energy levels, and various care needs. I love getting outside and going for long walks which makes me a great fit for energetic dogs! I am just as suited for calmer pets who prefer quiet company! I treat each pet with genuine care to make sure they feel safe and loved while they are away from their owners. I am currently a Master’s student with a super flexible schedule! Since my coursework and research hours aren’t fixed, I am able to plan my day around walks, drop-ins, or pet-setting. I spend most of my time working from home which gives me the freedom to check in on pets, take them for long walks, or stay overnight whenever needed. To foster a safe, trusted environment, I focus on keeping routines as familiar as possible for your pets. I follow owner’s instructions clearly (e .g., feeding schedules, walk times, medications) and make sure pets get plenty of attention, exercise, and love.

About: Hello. My name is Amanda 🫶 I am 38 years old 😬 I consider myself a pet magnet. People call me the animal whisperer. Never mind, the time I got ducks talking to me 🤭 I’ve even had an emu follow me around and take selfies with me 😅 I’ve been working as a groomer and pet care taker for 18 years now. 18 years in grooming and 30 years caring for pets 🐾 I have met some wonderful people and pets along the way. My main option on here is pet sitting but I also do walking. I have worked at a veterinary clinic for two years, and have many certifications including Animal Sciences 👩‍🎓 I work at my own home based grooming salon and doggy day care 💈✂️🧼 I often care for pets belonging to family and friends. I have a fenced in backyard that your pet will enjoy. I spend a lot of time outside, so your dog will get plenty of outdoor time ☀️🐕‍🦺 I have a pet friendly bed and vehicle too! 🚘 I look forward to welcoming and caring for your pet, whether it’s a dog, cat or small critter 🐰🐹🦔 I wake up cuddling animals and go to sleep cuddling animals. I also enjoy the outdoors so they will get plenty of fun and exercise. Tug of war or ball are what I live for. Shaking a feather around to see your kitty go crazy makes me laugh. Replenishing food and water. Tidy ups.

We were impressed with Filipe. Our dog Pax, who is usually nervous with strangers, took to Felipe and his parents like they were 'old friends'. Felipe took him for his walk which was the highlight of Pax's day. We will be very comfortable leaving Pax in his hands.

About: I have always had a dog growing up. I got my first dog of my own in 2019 as a rescue and since have adopted a second dog as a rescue as well. I have great joy in helping dogs with a challenging past overcome their obstacles and open up to the world again. I have experience with older dogs that require medication, younger high energy dogs that need more mental stimulus and puppies that require constant redirection and training. I love all dogs. I have a calm approach with dogs which generally makes them quick to accept me and want to be around me even those that tend to be more timid. I currently work at the hospital and I’m in school at Lakehead for nursing. My schedule can be a bit chaotic at times but generally Sunday through Wednesday I have gaps in my day that allow for me to help out. I have a large yard, it is not fenced but dogs with good recall can run around and others I use a long lead so they can enjoy the yard while still being within control.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Thunder Bay choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
