“Christine was amazing! She walked my boy Finn twice a day for a week while I was on vacation, and sent updates with pics each time. I didn’t have to worry at all as she was so good with him. Finn had a blast and I will definitely be booking again.”

“Zola is quick to respond. My dogs love her and are so excited to see her. She is very punctual you can almost set your watch on her arrival time. She is always engaging the dogs and when the weather is bad she does inside creative activities with the dogs but always checks in with me to make sure it’s alright to do that while making sure they had a potty break. I am so thankful I found and she will always be the dogs walker as long as she will have us.”

About: I’ve been caring for pets for 13 years and have experience with a variety of animals, especially dogs and cats. I’ve cared for pets belonging to family, friends, and coworkers, including feeding, providing fresh water, cleaning litter boxes, taking dogs outside, playing with pets, delivering medications, and giving them plenty of attention and affection. I’m responsible, patient, and attentive to each pet’s individual personality and needs. I understand how important it is to feel comfortable leaving your pets in someone else’s care, and I’ll treat them like they’re my own while you’re away. I’m currently working part-time and attending college, but I can work pet care around my commitments. I’m available for drop-ins, walks, and pet sitting, including overnight stays, and I’m happy to discuss specific dates and times with each pet parent. I’m reliable about keeping scheduled visits and making sure every pet receives the care, attention, and exercise they need. I take pet care seriously and make sure pets receive the same love, attention, and routine that I give my own. At home, I walk my dogs every day, scoop my cats’ litter boxes twice a day, clean their food and water dishes whenever they get dirty, and regularly brush both my cats and dogs. I also make sure they have plenty of playtime, exercise, fresh water, and attention. When caring for pets in my clients’ homes, I follow their normal routines and any specific instructions their owners provide. This can include feeding, walks, bathroom breaks, playtime, litter box cleaning, brushing, and providing lots of companionship. I’m comfortable caring for pets in their own homes and staying overnight when needed, and I always make sure they are safe, comfortable, and well cared for.

I have dog sat for friends as well as cat sat. I changed litter boxes and spent time with the adorable fur babies. I love all animals and will treat them with love and respect. I'm currently working during the week and will be available mostly weekends to care for your babies. I am free in the evenings to visit your babies. In the summer i will have more flexability I cannot take any animals in my home, but I am happy to come to yours. I am happy to take care of your dog or kitty and treat them like royalty while caring for them
About: For as long as I can remember, animals have been part of my heart and my home. I've shared my life with pets throughout my adult life, and each one has been a cherished member of my family. I understand the trust it takes to leave your beloved companion in someone else's care because I would want the very same kindness, attention, and respect for my own pets. Whether I'm caring for a playful puppy, a senior dog, an independent cat, or another cherished pet, I believe every animal deserves to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for as an individual. I take the time to learn their routines, respect their unique personalities and boundaries, and provide the loving, attentive care they deserve. With more than 25 years of experience building trusting relationships with children and families, I bring patience, reliability, compassion, and thoughtful communication to every visit. I'll follow your care instructions carefully, pay attention to the little details, and send regular updates and photos so you can enjoy peace of mind while you're away. My goal is simple: to care for your pets the way I care for my own—with love, kindness, respect, and the understanding that they are treasured members of your family. Caring for animals is something I truly enjoy and have intentionally made room for in my life. During the summer months, I have flexible availability and can offer daytime, evening, weekend, and holiday pet care. Throughout the school year, I work full-time as an educator, so I focus on providing pet care during evenings, weekends, holidays, and school breaks. House sitting is also a service I enjoy, as it allows me to provide consistent, loving care while fitting naturally into my routine. Because pet care is a part-time passion, I intentionally accept a limited number of bookings. This allows me to give each pet the individual attention, kindness, and thoughtful care they deserve rather than rushing from one visit to the next. My goal is always to provide dependable, personalized care that gives both pets and their people complete peace of mind. I provide all of my pet care services in your pet's familiar home environment, where they feel safest and most comfortable. I know that keeping routines consistent helps reduce stress, so I carefully follow your instructions for feeding, walks, playtime, medications (if needed), litter box or yard care, and any other routines that are important to your pet. Every visit is tailored to your pet's individual personality and needs. Some pets enjoy play and interaction, while others simply appreciate a calm, reassuring presence. I respect each pet's boundaries, move at their pace, and always prioritize their comfort, safety, and well-being. For dog walks, I tailor each walk to your dog's energy level and preferences, allowing plenty of opportunities to sniff, explore, and enjoy their time outdoors safely. For cats and other pets, I provide attentive care, companionship (when welcomed), fresh food and water, litter box or habitat maintenance, and plenty of observation to ensure they are happy and well. After each visit, I'll send you photos and an update so you can relax knowing your beloved pet is receiving thoughtful, dependable care while you're away.
“Jenna-Lynn did a great job making sure Rudy got exercise while being home during a long working day even on late booking notice. She arrived on time, made sure Rudy felt comfortable and was very responsive. I had no problem trusting her and would definitely recommend her for dog walking.”

“The dogs took to Madison right away and came back happy and tired from their long walk! Madison was available last minute which really helped me as I was stuck without time to take them.”

“She was amazing! She replied quickly, helped me out last minute, and kept me updated with photos on their walk. Great communication, and both of my dogs were very well cared for!”

About: I've been a dog owner of Labradors for the past 30 years, until recently. A few months ago I said goodbye to my boy Fletcher, and life is just not the same without a dog. I am a fairly active 52 year old who lives alone, and quietly, with a fenced yard and Vickers Park nearby. I go to my family's camp in the summer, and would like to be able to take your dog with me for a good swim and hike! My house has always been a dog house. I do love to travel, so I know what it's like to have someone care for your dogs while away, and the worries and trust that go with such a responsibility. Someday I will get another dog, but until then, I would love to welcome yours into a safe, calm, environment, with lots of love, fun and outside time. I am currently free and flexible to adapt to your dog's schedule. I am the only one in the house so I am able to be present for your dog and hang out with him or her as much as they'll let me! I have a fully fenced yard and a dog friendly 2 bedroom bungalow. One room is a spare so can be used to put crates or beds if dogs are nervous or want alone time. I will never kick a dog off my bed if they are willing to keep me company!
About: Hello. My name is Amanda 🫶 I am 38 years old 😬 I consider myself a pet magnet. People call me the animal whisperer. Never mind, the time I got ducks talking to me 🤭 I’ve even had an emu follow me around and take selfies with me 😅 I’ve been working as a groomer and pet care taker for 18 years now. 18 years in grooming and 30 years caring for pets 🐾 I have met some wonderful people and pets along the way. My main option on here is pet sitting but I also do walking. I have worked at a veterinary clinic for two years, and have many certifications including Animal Sciences 👩🎓 I work at my own home based grooming salon and doggy day care 💈✂️🧼 I often care for pets belonging to family and friends. I have a fenced in backyard that your pet will enjoy. I spend a lot of time outside, so your dog will get plenty of outdoor time ☀️🐕🦺 I have a pet friendly bed and vehicle too! 🚘 I look forward to welcoming and caring for your pet, whether it’s a dog, cat or small critter 🐰🐹🦔 I wake up cuddling animals and go to sleep cuddling animals. I also enjoy the outdoors so they will get plenty of fun and exercise. Tug of war or ball are what I live for. Shaking a feather around to see your kitty go crazy makes me laugh. Replenishing food and water. Tidy ups.
About: I’m an animal lover who has spent years caring for pets! Over the years, I have gained experience through house, dog, and cat sitting for my family and friends. These experiences have made me more comfortable with different personalities, energy levels, and various care needs. I love getting outside and going for long walks which makes me a great fit for energetic dogs! I am just as suited for calmer pets who prefer quiet company! I treat each pet with genuine care to make sure they feel safe and loved while they are away from their owners. I am currently a Master’s student with a super flexible schedule! Since my coursework and research hours aren’t fixed, I am able to plan my day around walks, drop-ins, or pet-setting. I spend most of my time working from home which gives me the freedom to check in on pets, take them for long walks, or stay overnight whenever needed. To foster a safe, trusted environment, I focus on keeping routines as familiar as possible for your pets. I follow owner’s instructions clearly (e .g., feeding schedules, walk times, medications) and make sure pets get plenty of attention, exercise, and love.
“We were impressed with Filipe. Our dog Pax, who is usually nervous with strangers, took to Felipe and his parents like they were 'old friends'. Felipe took him for his walk which was the highlight of Pax's day. We will be very comfortable leaving Pax in his hands.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Thunder Bay choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
