“Leslie and Rob provided the best care to our dogs, Pippa and Nova. And they love their new best friend Gauge, who is the sweetest pup! Leslie and Rob are amazing people - kind and caring - and our dogs felt completely at home! They treated them like family, and kept us up to date daily. Pippa and Nova can't wait to go back!”

“Albina did a fantastic job watching my puppy Cid !! She provided me with daily updates to let me know how he was doing ! You can tell she has an affinity for animals as he was comfortable with her right away ! I would highly recommend her to anyone in need of a sitter !!”

“Would highly recommend. Jasper became part of the pack and there were no issues. Laurie and Alex were great at communicating with me for pick up and providing me with photos of Jasper's fun time”

“Tasha is a awesome sitter. I felt so at ease while on vacation. Tasha would check in everyday to let me know how my babies were doing. I will definitely be using her services again and would recommend her 110%. I received lots of pictures from her and from them I could tell my babes were very happy! ??from Nitro and Nixon!”

“Penny and Leonard spent a month with Denise and Gary and I was so comforted by all the pics and videos of the fun and cuddles they had while I was away.. highly recommend!”

“Gillian provided exceptional care for our two older dogs, including one who has some significant mobility restrictions. Her home was warm and welcoming for our dogs and the fully fenced backyard was a key security feature for us. Our two dogs mean the world to us and this was our first time using a dog sitter and we were so lucky to have found Gillian here on Rover. She put our minds at ease and sent plenty of updates and pictures to show our dogs relaxing and cuddling with her. If you are looking for a dog sitter for your four legged friend do not hesitate to use Gillian. Our dogs are 12 and 10 years old and she took care of them just as well as we would have.”
“Bruin had a wonderful time with Chantelle and her family. Chantelle kept in contact with us, sending us updates and pictures 😊 I will certainly book Chantelle again! Thanks for everything!”

“Sophie had a great weekend with Melanie and her family. The drop off, pick up and everything in between went very smoothly. Melanie was very welcoming and took the time to listen to our concerns and the endless instructions. She send updates and photos numerous times and responded quickly if I reached out to her. It sometimes takes Sophie a couple of days to get back to herself after a stay somewhere but this morning she is her normal self. Thank you, Melanie! We will be seeing you again for sure.”

“Amrita was so sweet and gave lots of updates about Alma. She was patient with her when she was anxious and barking for the first bit after I left. I will definitely be booking with Amrit next time I need a sitter <3”

About: I’m a caring, professional individual who has owned and looked after pets (cats and dogs) since I was young. Please message me and I will get back to you in a few hours. I look forward to meeting your special fur babies. I currently have a part time job so I am available most evenings. Message me for more information about my current availability and I will be happy to try to work out something. I’m willing to follow any instructions given to me for caring for your animal. Some key tasks I can do: bring them to parks or on walks, administer medication and give them food.
“Really nice sitters! They also have a pup who got along really well with ours. Nirali kept us updated with pictures and videos of our dog which was reassuring. Would definitely book with them again.”

“Jessica went above and beyond! She accommodated our last minute request and maintained thorough communication throughout (with lots of pictures of course). Will be using again!”

“Amazing hosts for holt! They were so kind and holt had a blast on his night over. Very accommodating of a late drop off time! I loved our updates throughout the day with pictures of holt having fun or just sleeping 😴! And he sure was beat out by the time I collected him the following day. It was all naps the rest of the afternoon 😁”

“Maggie took care of our Australian shepherd, Jersey, while we were out of town on vacation. She was so kind and took such good care of our girl, bringing her for walks frequently, Sent lots of photos and updates. Highly recommend.”

About: I have a lifetime of experience when it comes to dogs and have grown up around them my whole life. I was raised by parents that worked with animals and learned a lot about how to care and connect with them. Iam able to administer medications and attend to dogs of any age including puppies. When my husband and I got a dog of our own for the first time our hearts became even more full with love for animals Wich is something I didn’t think possible. Being a dog mom to a loving happy and goofy dog like Bodhi has changed my life. He is truly the heart of our home and caring for him is so fulfilling. Welcoming your dog in our home will just be another incredible addition where we can share our love for animals and care for them like they are our own. I am an artist currently working from home so I am incredibly flexible when it comes to dog care. I have tons of time for play and walks and cuddles so your pet will get lots of attention. On weekends my husband and I go hiking when the weather is good and love to take Bodhi for the nature and exercise, we love to be outside. I live in a great ground floor condo with a walkout porch and a front lawn, right next to me there is a yard with a fence separating us from any traffic or stores. There is lots of room for play and fun and makes potty breaks convenient and easy :) My neighbours are all dog lovers as well and welcome all new furry friends with loving arms. I live only 2 minutes away from Bowring park and go there everyday for a huge walk with Bodhi living close is such a blessing cause he loves the park. As most dogs do, it’s a great place to walk them and let them explore. So you can count on your dog getting a nice big walk in during the day :) Bodhi is a super loving and playful dog who loves other dogs and playing so you know your dog will have a best friend when they stay with us. Dogs are welcome in the bed, on the couch and anywhere in our home. They are family and are treated as such :)
About: I've been surrounded by pets for as long as I can remember, and they've always held a special place in my heart. At the age of 7, I welcomed my first dog, Luna, and since then, I've discovered a new kind of love. Back home, I have two French poodles and, five beloved cats. Moving to St. John's has left me missing their companionship dearly. Becoming a pet sitter is my way of reconnecting with that joy and love. I'm eager to shower your furry friends with affection, take them for walks, engage in playtime, and ensure they have the best possible care while you're away.🥰🥰 I'm a student with plenty of time during weekdays. I have a highly flexible schedule and am always available to help out, even outside of my regular hours, in case of emergencies. I'm fully available on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and after 5 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I reside in a spacious 3-bedroom house in Downtown, offering ample indoor space. Additionally, Bannerman Park is conveniently located just in front of my residence, providing an excellent outdoor experience and opportunities for delightful walks.
About: I’ve had pets my whole life, and love taking care of them. As soon as I could work with animals I did, from a vet clinic on the coast to a local farm. I have experience training young puppies and with nervous cats. I love animals and take care of them as my own! I’m currently working part-time, so I have a lot of free time to care for your pets. I work during the evenings for a couple hours and thats it, so I have no trouble spending as much time with your pet as needed! I have my own friendly dog and cat that love to play, my dog especially. I don’t have a fenced in yard as I live in an apartment building, but I take my own dog on multiple walks during the day on the walking trails around my area. I can easily crate your pet if needed as well. I am also within walking distance to a dog park if your dog enjoys that!

They enjoy meeting other dogs and would be happy to have some furry friends to spend time with. Dog parents share their Rover experiences - St. John's
Rayna and Nigel are fantastic. Very experienced carers for all types of dogs. Patient and loving and willing to put in the effort to really get to know your dog. My dog Lucille is senior and a fairly recent rescue so I had my anxieties about leaving her. Rayna checked in, sent updates and treated her like family. Lucille was calm and confident when I picked her up. The peace of mind is so valuable. No only would I book her again, I have booked her again - twice for this summer! My enjoyment of my time away is going to be so enhanced knowing Lucille is with Rayna and Nigel.

Joanna was absolutely fabulous! I was so happy that Jasper was so well cared for while we were out of town. She was very accommodating and flexible to meet up before our vacation to make sure that our dogs got along. She sent pictures and updates that helped reinforce that Jasper was well cared for and having a fun vacation of his own. I highly recommend Joanna and her adorable dog Ollie as excellent dog sitters!

Jessica and Anthony are amazing!! We were provided with updates and photos the whole time and felt perfectly comfortable. Our girl looked super happy every day, and they went above and beyond what we could’ve expected. We wouldn’t hesitate to leave our pets with them again!

Ana went above and beyond and I felt so grateful to have my Potato in the care of someone so attentive and thoughtful. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a responsible pet sitter. Feels great to know I have someone like her to go to if I ever need a sitter again.

Albina did a fantastic job watching my puppy Cid !! She provided me with daily updates to let me know how he was doing ! You can tell she has an affinity for animals as he was comfortable with her right away ! I would highly recommend her to anyone in need of a sitter !!

First time using Rover.com and we found Paige and we felt so good leaving our fur baby with her. The meet and greets were a great for introductions and questions. Paige and Theo asked a lot of thoughtful questions about Shelby! Every dog has their quirks but having a hearing impaired one requires special attention, which Shelby got. We were able to go on a vacation knowing Shelby would be well looked after. Really appreciate this service more than anyone can really know.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
