“It was the first time leaving our high-energy rescue dog with someone other than family or friends who stayed at our house and I had a lot of anxiety about leaving her for two whole weeks while out of the country. But Tasha made me feel very comfortable, listened to all my crazy dog-mom anxiety ridden instructions and assured me my girl would be ok. She provided regular updates and photos which were appreciated so much and really made me feel better seeing how happy she was in our absence. Would definitely recommend Tasha, she’s great!”

“Dozer was well cared for by Alex and Lori. They sent lots of pictures which was lovely. They treated him like one of their own dogs with lots of activity and cuddles. He is a high energy dog who needs lots of affection which they were happy to accommodate! I hope they are available the next time I need care for Dozer.”

I can't put anymore star*s in for the rating, but if I could I would ! We would highly recommend this sitter for your fur baby! And, we will surely book with them again.”

“Once again, Leslie and Rob are just fantastic! We got stuck away for three extra nights unexpectedly due to weather, and they continued to take care of our dogs Pippa and Nova without hesitation! It provided us 100% peace of mind being able to travel and knowing they are being cared for in such a loving and caring home, and so well looked after. Leslie went over and beyond to ensure Nova had her medications, and sent regular updates. Their fenced in backyard is amazing, and the dogs fit into their beautiful home with their sweet dog Gauge perfectly. Pippa and Nova are excited for their next stay over!”

“We are lucky that our girl Evelyn even came home with us! Denise & Gary treated her like a queen and she absolutely loved her stay with them. She enjoyed lots of walks and a lot of love & attention, they treated her like their own and I didn’t worry about her at all.”

About: I have been providing dog sitting services for some time now and decided to extend services through Rover in February 2026. I am an huge animal lover, adore nature and just want to give families the peace of mind when going away that I would want for my dogs. I have owned many dogs and have fostered too many to count. I was president of a rescue group for 10 years, 25 years volunteering with rescue groups and have extensive experience with small and large dogs, I have completed multiple obedience courses and have a strong knowledge of basic dog obedience and training. Dogs are a huge part of my life. I have regular clients I walk and that I provide pet sitting for in my home. I love to walk, hike, and jog. I build regular daily outdoor activity into my schedule and understand the importance of consistency for dogs. I am also flexible and can adjust to the needs of a dog when needed and I want to provide them with a place they can be content while their owner is away. Each dog is unique and I support a daily/weekly plan that supports their uniqueness. In order to get to know the needs and routines of all the dogs I care for, I ask each owner to complete a questionnaire outlining all I would need to know while caring for their dog. I treat each dog like my own and they are fully integrated into all aspects of our household. Regular interaction, belly rubs and treats (with owner permission) are daily occurrences.

Whether it’s a long walk, some playtime, or just company, I’m here to make sure your pet feels safe, happy, and cared for while you’re away👍 I’m currently doing online studies and not working at the moment, which allows me to offer a very flexible schedule. I’m available Monday through Saturday for walks, drop-ins, and overnight care. Whether your pet needs attention during the day or evening, I’m happy to work around your schedule. Sundays are my only day off, but feel free to reach out anytime! I understand how important it is to feel confident when someone is caring for your pet in your home. I treat every home with the utmost respect and care, just as I would my own. I follow any specific instructions you provide and always prioritize your pet’s routine, safety, and comfort. I take time to build trust with both pets and owners, creating a calm and reliable environment. Your pet’s well-being—and your peace of mind—are my top priorities. About: I have a lifetime of experience when it comes to dogs and have grown up around them my whole life. I was raised by parents that worked with animals and learned a lot about how to care and connect with them. Iam able to administer medications and attend to dogs of any age including puppies. When my husband and I got a dog of our own for the first time our hearts became even more full with love for animals Wich is something I didn’t think possible. Being a dog mom to a loving happy and goofy dog like Bodhi has changed my life. He is truly the heart of our home and caring for him is so fulfilling. Welcoming your dog in our home will just be another incredible addition where we can share our love for animals and care for them like they are our own. I am an artist currently working from home so I am incredibly flexible when it comes to dog care. I have tons of time for play and walks and cuddles so your pet will get lots of attention. On weekends my husband and I go hiking when the weather is good and love to take Bodhi for the nature and exercise, we love to be outside. I live in a great ground floor condo with a walkout porch and a front lawn, right next to me there is a yard with a fence separating us from any traffic or stores. There is lots of room for play and fun and makes potty breaks convenient and easy :) My neighbours are all dog lovers as well and welcome all new furry friends with loving arms. I live only 2 minutes away from Bowring park and go there everyday for a huge walk with Bodhi living close is such a blessing cause he loves the park. As most dogs do, it’s a great place to walk them and let them explore. So you can count on your dog getting a nice big walk in during the day :) Bodhi is a super loving and playful dog who loves other dogs and playing so you know your dog will have a best friend when they stay with us. Dogs are welcome in the bed, on the couch and anywhere in our home. They are family and are treated as such :)
“This was our first time using this service. We went and interviewed with Steve. He was very kind and and polite when we met. We decided to book with him. And he treated our girl like his own. She was so very well looked after. We can not say enough about it. When we checked in on her. We were given pics to show how happy she was. As well as any news. What a great experience we have had and moving forward as long as he is free we will be booking with Steve again. If you need someone. Meet with Steve and his care for your pet will be amazing.”

“Our dog had a wonderful experience with Vincent and his wife. He was walked daily and received a lot of love and attention from these true pet lovers. I was nervous leaving him at first but Vincent sent daily texts and pictures which reassured us of the quality care he received. We would 100% use Vincent again and highly recommend him to care for your pet.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
