“Victoria was a godsend for me and my Bunny Cosmo! He lives free range in my apartment like a cat, and has very particular care instructions. Not only did Victoria take excellent care of Cosmo and my apartment, but she provided so much love and attention to him that I was able to enjoy my trip knowing he was so well looked after and happy. Thank you so much Victoria! Highly recommend 😊”

About: Growing up we always had dogs in the house, from big dogs like cute Labradors to smaller dogs like fiesty Chihuahuas! Currently we're raising a husky lab mix that's 4 months old and he requires tons of attention. We also have a fostered Boxer who's completely deaf and blind in one eye, so I as well have experience in that! My goal is to make you feel as comfortable as possible. I will gladly send picture and video updates of your sweet dog. I also am happy to play with them using their favorite toys and don't mind spending extra time for cuddle sessions while I'm there! I love animals and they are just the sweetest things! I will treat your animals as if they were my own. With the care, love, and respect all animals deserve. For the summer I'm completely free. I work at a Veterinary Clinic on Monday Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3-8:30 pm. I'm going back to school in September with the hopes of doing majority of my courses online or early in the mornings. This type of schedule gives me ample amount of time to spend with your precious fur babies! In my house we have a big fenced area for the doggies to run around in! I don't have much experience in training dogs but I can help them learn sit or another simple trick! Giving them food and water and playing with them!
“Grace looked after our dog on New Year's Eve. She is lovely and showed a warm affection when first meeting Koda. We felt very comfortable having Grace look after Koda for the day.”

About: I’ve been around animals my whole life—dogs and cats. I’ve helped care for family pets, walked neighborhood dogs, and provided overnight care for friends and family while they were away. I’m confident handling pets of all sizes and temperaments, and I treat every animal like my own—with patience, love, and respect. Whether it’s a long walk, some playtime, or just company, I’m here to make sure your pet feels safe, happy, and cared for while you’re away👍 I’m currently doing online studies and not working at the moment, which allows me to offer a very flexible schedule. I’m available Monday through Saturday for walks, drop-ins, and overnight care. Whether your pet needs attention during the day or evening, I’m happy to work around your schedule. Sundays are my only day off, but feel free to reach out anytime! I understand how important it is to feel confident when someone is caring for your pet in your home. I treat every home with the utmost respect and care, just as I would my own. I follow any specific instructions you provide and always prioritize your pet’s routine, safety, and comfort. About: All pets will be loved and taken care of, they will definitely be my priority during the time they are with me. Had dogs for the major part of my childhood, so growing up connecting to pets is not much of a problem for me. Will be playing with them pretty much all the time for sure, do not have to worry about any kinds of danger, safety will be ensured first. Any kind of special care requested will be happily accepted and extra attention will be payed towards the concern. Would love to stay connected to each pet, should expect me to secretly give treats to all the good pets out there ☺️💙 Every service provided will be the best. So when can I meet your pet??! 🤩
“Oriyen took great care of my puppy and senior cat while we were out of town for a week. She communicated well and sent updates daily, was reliable and kept our house tidy. Thanks Oriyen! Would definitely book again :)”

“Kristen was incredible from the start, very accommodating to our girl. She was quite nervous in the beginning, Kristen was understanding and caring. Very responsive when I was checking in. We are extremely pleased with how she cared for Rue. We could tell upon our return that Kristen was a good fit because she kept going over to her and nudging her and indicating on her. This tells me she did a great job.”

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Conception Bay South maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Conception Bay South walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Conception Bay South choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
