“Leigh-Ann took such good care of our fur baby while we were gone for 3 weeks over the holidays. Christmas dinner, presents and lots of TLC. Our dog had had knee surgery a few months before and I was so worried about leaving him with someone new. Leigh Ann took wonderful care of him and even took him to his Pysio appointments! She updated us and sent photos and videos regularly so we knew he was having fun with Leigh Ann and her fur baby Freha. Highly recommend Leigh-Ann!”

“While Casey’s yard is not fenced it is in a rural area with a large yard. My dog Abby got along with Casey’s dog quite quickly. Lots of walking to give Abby exercise and a warm wood stove that she loved sleeping beside. Casey works from home so the dogs have lots of company. Abby was happy to be there and I would be glad to leave Abby there again the next time I need a dog sitter.”

About: I’m a lifelong dog lover who grew up with golden retrievers, and I’ve been dog-sitting in Nelson for over two years. I’ve cared for puppies, seniors, high-energy dogs, and easygoing couch companions, and I enjoy adapting to whatever pace your pup prefers. I love taking dogs out on Nelson’s beautiful trails for fresh air and adventure. Whether your dog wants to sniff every tree or prefers a more relaxed stroll, I’m all about making their time with me tail-waggingly fun! With a flexible work schedule, I’m able to accommodate a wide range of routines, visits, and energy levels. I’m all about making sure your dog feels comfortable, safe, and happy while you’re away—because every pup deserves to have a good time, even if their human is off doing human things. I am currently working a casual schedule. I am available for morning, afternoon and evening walks! I am available for pet sitting during the week or weekend! I have my own suite that has access to a grassy area out front. I am a few minutes walk to the graveyard trails. Dogs that stay with me will be taken on morning walk, mid afternoon walk and a longer nature walk in the early evenings!
“Kesi was great to deal with! Very accommodating and reliable. Daily updates let me know how my boy was doing and put my mind at ease. Very pleased with the level of care provided while I was away. 10/10 recommend. Thank you again, so much!”

“Wonderful service. My dogs were so happy and I comfortable to leave them with Rose. She is very good at taking care of dogs and she is easy to communicate with and prompt. Never a concern or issue.”

“Mackenna was such a great sitter for our dog Bernie. She was communicative and thoughtful and I was grateful for the photos and updates throughout the weekend! I was also happy knowing that she was wearing our dog out on hikes throughout the day :)”

“I felt completely at ease leaving our new pups with Jessica. They got loads of care & attention and walks. It was our new puppy’s first weekend away and I was so glad for him to have such a positive experience. I’m sure he will be looking forward to going back!”

“Natalie took such great care of our pups. We had to extend our stay last minute and she was able to make to accommodate. She took care of our pups like they were her own and I could tell the pups loved being there! I highly recommend her!”

“Roberta took excellent care of our dog while we were away for a long family vacation. She is very knowledgeable, kind, and truly cares. We had peace of mind knowing that our dog would be part of her family while we were away. We appreciated the updates and pictures while we were away and could tell he had enjoyed his time with Roberta and her dog. We are so grateful and will 100% reach out to Roberta next time we need a sitter. She is a lovely person who clearly cares deeply about the people and animals she interacts with. Thank you!”

“Erika was AWESOME!! My dog Stewart enjoyed his stay there. She took him on daily walks with her other dogs...lots of playtime and exercise! Erika kept me up to date on how Stewart was doing and provided a safe and quiet spot for him to rest and sleep. I highly recommend Erika and will definitely book again in the future!!”

“Quinn was a great dogsitter. She communicated easily and often and assured me, especially in the first day or two, that my dog was doing great. I would not hesitate to hire Quinn again to take care of my dog.”

“Mia was absolutely amazing! She took such wonderful care of our little Pomeranian and treated him like one of her own. She kept us updated every day with photos, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Our pup had a great time in her yard, made friends with her cat, and quickly felt comfortable in her home. Mia even went the extra mile by preparing yams to accommodate his diet, which we really appreciated. She was incredibly communicative, thoughtful, and easy to work with throughout the entire stay. We couldn't have asked for a better dog sitter and would highly recommend Mia to anyone looking for someone who will genuinely care for their pet.”

11/10 experience from start to finish! Marley was an incredible sitter for my pup Bodhi and I am so grateful for her above and beyond care. Marley was excellent with communication, flexible with timing for pick-up/drop-off, and I could tell that Bodhi was well-loved and cared for. It was my first time using Marley as a sitter and I would 100% reach out to her in the future. Thank you for taking such good care of my little guy!

Sarah was wonderful with Theo. She was very responsive and flexible, and her friendly attitude made the whole experience easy and comfortable. She asked thoughtful questions about Theo’s needs and even offered to take him for a walk. I also really appreciated that she has a fenced yard—great for peace of mind. Highly recommend!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
