About: Hello! I am a life-long animal lover of all kinds. I have experience in caring for cats, dogs of all sizes, and birds. I really appreciate getting to know each animal and their own unique personalities. I am comfortable to work with animals who need special care - including medicine or reactive tendencies. I love taking dogs for long walks, taking time to play and snuggle, and ensuring that each animal is well cared for. I lived with my cat, Booty, for 8 years til he passed on, so I also have experience with inviting pet-sitters to come stay in my home. I am a freelance writer, so I have a flexible schedule and am available to stay in your home as well if you would like overnight care. In my own home, my pets are free to roam wherever they want and get scheduled food times with the occasional treat. I am happy to align my care to the needs and routines of your animals and whatever else you require!
About: I have house sit, dog sit, chicken sit, and cat sit, in a variety of homes, even more remote homes where snow plowing was required. I work a flexible schedule. Hybrid remote office worker. I work Monday thru Thursday, but live within a few blocks of my place of work Located near the Columbia River with a fenced yard and no other permanent pets at my home, lots of room to play and run around the yard and trails.

About: I have cared for dogs, cats, birds, and fish. Also, have experience caring for farm animals. I have my own dog who I raised from a puppy so I’m comfortable potty training, if needed. My schedule is flexible since I work for myself. Each week looks a little different so it’s best just to send me a message to discuss. I care for pets as if they were my own and this respect extends to your home. Always wanting to leave a positive impact anywhere I am.
About: I’ve grown up with dogs since I was born so I have lots of experience walking dogs, caring for dogs and spending time with them. I love dogs of any size and breed. I am currently writing a book and other than that ski so have plenty of time to spend with your pets. I love being outside and getting to care for your dog will make it better! I can provide an environment which will make your pet feel at home and personally will have no trouble fitting into their home space if needed.
About: I have grown up with various pets throughout my life. Currently have a border collie and cat of my own who love to be active and mentally stimulated. I have previous experience pet sitting for friends and coworkers with pets requiring medications or special care. Truly enjoy having the company of furry little buddy. I enjoy taking my dog on hikes, biking, disc golfing, swimming, paddleboarding and snowboarding. If your dog is up for the adventure I have no problem bringing them along:) I work as a part time nurse so I have availability during the week and weekends. If I am staying at your house then I will only book when I am not scheduled to work. Ensure they have fresh water and food. Make sure there are no items in the house that the dog or cat can get into that can harm them. Allow the animals to come to me first to build trust. Discuss any food allergies or special requirements for pet sitting.
About: I will treat your dog as if they were my own. I had 5 dogs growing up and love them endlessly! Let’s get in touch! 🐶❤️🐾 Please note that I do NOT require crate training for dogs I’m boarding or doing in house sitting for. This is a profile error and I’m not able to remove it at the time. I currently work from home and can be attentive to your pup all times of the day whether it be for walks or in-house animal sitting or both! I prioritize pet safety, well-being and companionship. I follow set routines, provide exercise, maintain cleanliness and ensure proper feeding and hydration. Communication with pet owners is key and I am prepared for emergencies. I am professional and define my pet care services as having a loving approach.

About: I’m a longtime pet sitter with nearly six years of experience caring for all kinds of animals, from puppies to senior dogs, as well as cats, bunnies, geckos, and everything in between! I started pet sitting in Kelowna and have since moved to Nelson for school (apart of the UBC WKTEP program) where being away from my own pets has made me miss having animals around even more. I truly love the companionship pets bring and enjoy helping out fellow pet parents while getting in plenty of walks, cuddles, and quality time. I have lots of references available and am always happy to meet for a coffee or chat beforehand. At the end of the day, I just want what’s best for your furry (and not so furry) friends, because I know how much they mean to our lives. I’m currently a student whose campus resides on Baker street in the heart of Nelson. My school schedule offers flexibility and the ability to make time throughout the day for pee breaks, walks, and snuggles. I have full weekend availability, and during the weekdays am done at reasonable hours. I’m a big runner, hiker, and walker, and love to be out in nature as much as possible in between classes and after school hours! While I can’t bring your furry friends into my own humble abode (sadly!) I am more than happy to come to you! I have done many over night and extended stays in homes of those who I have offered pet care for. As a student, I have the flexibility to pick up (and pack up) my belongings and make my home anywhere. Keeping your pets in the environment they feel most comfortable I find extremely valuable as it takes away a layer of stress for your pet as they get to remain in their safe space while being distracted by plenty of pets (offered by myself haha!).
About: I’ve had dogs my entire life and I’m comfortable with pets who need a little extra support, whether that’s medication, mobility help, anxiety management, or specific routines. I’ve also spent years on farms working with chickens, ducks, quail, cattle, goats, and pigs. I offer reliable house sitting and drop-ins. Wherever you are! I am also trained in herbalism-based first aid for animals, and I’m used to noticing the small things: changes in behavior, appetite, or comfort, and can handle emergencies or unexpected situations with ease. If you are looking for someone who understands animals on more than a surface level, and who can handle both the simple stuff and the unexpected, I’m your person. I am also comfortable looking after off-grid and rustic homes and homesteads. I have an AWD vehicle, not afraid of dirt roads and deep snow, know my way around a wood stove and alternative power systems. I am currently working for myself (social media, my own brand, skincare line etc) so my schedule is on my terms, and leaves it wide open during the day to align with your pet's routine. I mainly offer overnight home sitting or daily drop ins, depending on location. Staying in your homes means I am with your pets and animals the majority of the day to spend time with them, or be around for any unexpected situations that often occur with livestock.
About: I grew up in a neighbourhood full of friendly people and dogs. I would dogsit or house quite often. They relied on me to keep their pet and home safe. I would take them for walks down to the park, play in the backyard, and just general hangout time. I work most evenings as a server, usually from 4-9 ish. I enjoy skiing during the day but am happy to accommodate being around for pet care I am very comfortable taking care of dogs and cats and am happy to provide them with whatever specific care needs you would like :)
“Leigh-Ann watched our pup for 2 nights and did a wonderful job. This was our first time leaving our puppy and we felt very confident leaving her in Leigh-Ann’s care! Leigh-Ann provided lots of updates and photos/videos, which we really appreciated.”

Lived with a roommate who had a dog and I fell in love with the little guy I am a massage therapist just starting up a practice so have some flexibility in my schedule and would love to play with some pets in my down time. I could have your pet in my home as it is pet friendly but would prefer to be in your home where your pet is most at ease

About: I've consistently looked after pets for the last 7 years - since I decided to settle down in the Kootenays. I have lived with roommates that had both cats and dogs for the last five years. When I lived in Kaslo, I hiked with my friend's dog Suki couple times a week while my friend was at work. My partner and I now live in Nelson and two years ago we got our own dog - the cutest little pug Noki. She is the most adventurous pug in the world and now knows over 30 words and tricks! Teaching dog fun tricks is my favourite thing to do! I work four days a week (Mon-Thu) with early mornings and evenings off so I have plenty of time for dog walking and/or petsitting. I am happy to travel outside Nelson too. I am a strong believer in positive reinforcment when it comes to training dogs. I often have a pocket full of tiny treats and always give dogs all the love whenever they do something right. I absolutely LOVE dog training and am currently looking into taking a dog trainer course and I would love to use this app and potential clients' pets to practice my passion.

“We were going out into the backcountry for an overnight ski hut trip and Bob was available with little notice to come stay at our place with our dog Moka. He was very punctual, and respectful of our home ? I'd love to have Bob again as a sitter.”

Nelson pet parents share their Rover experiences
My partner and I were out of the country for two weeks and Ethan and Florence were fantastic sitters for my dog and cat. I would highly recommend them to anyone. My dog is anxious, and my cat is scared of new folks, but they won them both over and ensured their happiness and safety at all times. I couldn't be happier with the attention to detail and patience Ethan and Florence had with my pets and with me as well as a nervous pet owner leaving them without either owner for the first time.

Rosa was a great sitter to our dogs. She took them out for peas and walks multiple times a day and gave them lots of cuddles. She even scared away a bear. She left our home very clean and tidy and was very considerate by giving us an end of the day. Update with pictures. I would recommend her to anyone needing a good sitter.

Reagan is great! She stayed at our house to watch our dog Lobo and his dog pal Jer while we were away for a weekend. The house was nice and tidy and the dogs were happy and tired when we got home. We will definitely have Reagan watch Lobo again and happily recommend her to others.
