“I felt completely at ease leaving our new pups with Jessica. They got loads of care & attention and walks. It was our new puppy’s first weekend away and I was so glad for him to have such a positive experience. I’m sure he will be looking forward to going back!”

“I couldn’t believe how easily my dog warmed up to Mia and Jacob. She did even cry when I said goodbye! She certainly created a safe and loving atmosphere for my dogs first weekend with a babysitter away from home. Highly recommend!”

“Quinn was a great dogsitter. She communicated easily and often and assured me, especially in the first day or two, that my dog was doing great. I would not hesitate to hire Quinn again to take care of my dog.”

“Leigh-ann was amazing with our 6 month old puppy. She had him tired out and sleeping through the first night with her. She sent us frequent reassuring updates that Sunny was in good hands. He loved hanging with Freya and he came home tired out from all the walks and playing. We will absolutely leave Sunny with Leigh-ann when we need to board him in the future.”

“While Casey’s yard is not fenced it is in a rural area with a large yard. My dog Abby got along with Casey’s dog quite quickly. Lots of walking to give Abby exercise and a warm wood stove that she loved sleeping beside. Casey works from home so the dogs have lots of company. Abby was happy to be there and I would be glad to leave Abby there again the next time I need a dog sitter.”

About: What sets me apart as a sitter is the level of patience, compassion, and real-life experience I bring, especially with dogs who need a little extra understanding. I’ve cared for two rescue dogs with very different and challenging backgrounds, which has shaped how I approach every animal I look after. One of my dogs I found on the streets of the Philippines, where I nursed her back to health and helped her regain strength and trust. The other I adopted from Heart Hope and Rescue, and she came to me with severe fear due to past abuse. Through consistent care, gentle handling, and a lot of love, I’ve helped her grow into a confident, happy dog who can now be around men comfortably. Today, she’s incredibly affectionate and truly thrives. Because of these experiences, I’m especially skilled with nervous, shy, or rescue dogs who may need extra patience and reassurance. I understand how to read body language, build trust at their pace, and create a calm, safe environment. I’m also comfortable reinforcing basic training, maintaining routines, and giving dogs the attention and care they need to feel secure and happy. Above all, I genuinely love animals and treat every dog as if they were my own, making sure they feel safe, cared for, and completely loved while you’re away. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine, and because I work part-time, I have plenty of flexibility to give your dog the time, attention, and care they deserve. I’m available for both weekday and weekend boarding, and I structure my days to make sure pets are never left alone for long periods. In the mornings, I start the day with walks, feeding, and some playtime to help your dog burn off energy and feel settled. Throughout the day, I incorporate regular potty breaks, enrichment activities, and lots of one-on-one attention whether that’s play, training reinforcement, or just relaxing together. Because I’m home often, your dog will have consistent companionship and supervision. I also adapt my routine to match your dog’s specific needs. For high-energy dogs, I make sure they get plenty of exercise and stimulation, while more anxious or senior dogs get a calm, quiet environment with gentle care and extra comfort. Evenings are more relaxed, with another walk, dinner, and wind-down time filled with cuddles and companionship. Overall, I prioritize creating a safe, structured, and loving environment so your dog feels at home and well cared for every day they’re with me. I provide attentive, compassionate care tailored to each pet’s individual needs, whether in my home or in a client’s home. I prioritize safety by maintaining a clean, secure environment, closely supervising pets, and following any specific routines, dietary requirements, or medical instructions provided by the owner. Building trust is central to my approach, so I take time to understand each pet’s personality, comfort levels, and preferences, ensuring they feel calm and cared for. I also respect clients’ homes by keeping spaces tidy and communicating regularly with updates, so owners feel confident and reassured while they are away.
“Roberta took excellent care of our dog while we were away for a long family vacation. She is very knowledgeable, kind, and truly cares. We had peace of mind knowing that our dog would be part of her family while we were away. We appreciated the updates and pictures while we were away and could tell he had enjoyed his time with Roberta and her dog. We are so grateful and will 100% reach out to Roberta next time we need a sitter. She is a lovely person who clearly cares deeply about the people and animals she interacts with. Thank you!”

“Erika was fantastic right from the first meet and greet! Our pup created some challenges for her since she has abandonment issues and is very attached to me. Erika provided a safe and loving environment where Lily felt safe. She provided pictures and feedback every day. When we picked Lily up after a 4 day holiday, she was content and obviously well cared for. We will definitely trust Erika with Lily in the future!! Thank you Erika for allowing us to have a stress free get away :)”

“Bob was amazing and will definitely be using him for sitting again! Sasha came back happy and well taken care of. He was also flexible with our timeline, which we really appreciated. Thanks again Bob!”

“Erin and Michael were fantastic, they had clear communication throughout his stay and sent photos showing Turtle was having the best of times. Definitely would recommend and Turtle will be staying with them again!”

“Nicolle was great with my dog, Vito. He’s a very playful, and energetic dog. But Nicolle handled him very well. He stayed with her for 3 days, and Nicolle kept me updated and sent pictures through out the stay. Will definitely call again in the future.”
“Rose is amazing. I felt comfortable leaving my dogs with her and will definitely book with her again. She was very confident with my dog who has a tendency to wander and has food aggression. My dog was very well behaved when she was with her. Rose has a special way with dogs. She also was very understanding when I couldn’t arrive on time and had to pick them up later than I had planned. Rose is great with dogs, I would fully recommend her :)”

“Nicole looked after our two cats for a few days so we could go away. We were very impressed with Nicole - from our first meeting with her, when she was able to make friends with both cats (including our shy one) right away. Nicole was very professional, reliable, and friendly, and took great care of our cats. She was super communicative, sending photos each time she visited. Our cats were very much at ease while we were away, which enabled us to have a relaxing weekend. We highly recommend Nicole and look forward to booking her again!”

“Lauren was incredible with our cats and our place. Lauren came by for a visit to meet us and the cats and they immediately took to her, which is not always easy for our shy cats. Lauren has a really great calm energy that our cats loved 🥰 Lauren watched our two cats for three nights of drop-in visits and gave one of our cats medication. She's trustworthy, friendly and dependable and we will certainly be hoping to book her to watch our fur babies again. Thank you so much, Lauren!”

About: I've cared for my family's 2 sheepadoodles for 8 years, and consistently watch a cute little chihuahua who loves to play frisbee. I don't have experience in dogs with special needs, but I do have a highly flexible schedule for people that need pet care. I work for myself at home, and can work from anywhere if need be. I love going for walks, and am happy to take your pet out any time of the day. I work completely from home and for myself, so I have no schedule constraints and am available most of the time. I am about as flexible as it gets! I don't have a fenced yard, so pets in my home go for a couple walks. If you have a fenced yard, I throw balls and frisbees till your pet can't go anymore!

About: I have spent a number of years looking after friends and neighbour’s cats, primarily during the day but I have also done night time stays before. I have fed cats, changed litter boxes and made obstacle courses for the cats I look after to go through as a form of pla (which is always a hit) I enjoy spending time with cats immensely and the different personalities each cat seems to possess.

“I can't recommend Any highly enough. She took such great care of our cat, sending photos and written updates daily. It made the typically stressful situation of leaving our 15 year old cat to go on a holiday so much more relaxed, giving us wonderful peace of mind. Her communication was quick, kind and honest. Highly recommended! Will absolutely book with her again.”

About: I grew up in a neighbourhood full of friendly people and dogs. I would dogsit or house quite often. They relied on me to keep their pet and home safe. I would take them for walks down to the park, play in the backyard, and just general hangout time. I am currently taking classes at Selkirk during the day and unemployed so I have a very flexible schedule for pet care and happy to make things work :) I am very comfortable taking care of dogs and cats and am happy to provide them with whatever specific care needs you would like :)

About: During the unprecedented times of Covid, I found unexpected blessings in the form of two furry companions. Osa, my serendipitous discovery nestled in a bush, brought immeasurable joy to those uncertain days. She became the heartwarming highlight of our Covid experience, and I'm endlessly grateful for the serendipity that brought us together. Osa, with her gentle spirit and playful nature, quickly became an integral part of our family. (this made me one of those cat moms instantly, you know when your instagram feed is just pictures of your animal) A couple of years later, I had the privilege of introducing Osa to her feline companion, Mouse. The instant connection and ensuing camaraderie between them was a sight to behold. The lively energy that filled our home with their playful antics was a true source of delight. Witnessing their bond blossom was a heartwarming affirmation of the power of companionship. Through caring for Osa and Mouse, I've navigated the full spectrum of experiences that come with indoor/outdoor catness. This includes administering medications, managing various medical situations, and yes, even the occasional mishap. I understand the nuances and responsibilities that come with ensuring a cat's well-being and happiness. As a dependable and open communicator, I take pride in providing your cat with the attention and affection they deserve. There's nothing quite like the comfort of a cat's cuddles, and I'm committed to ensuring your feline friend feels cherished and accompanied in your absence. Your cat's contentment and security are my top priorities.

Whether your cat is playful, shy, chatty, or happiest curled up beside someone, I'll give them the attention they need. I love talking to cats (yes, I have full conversations with them!), offering plenty of cuddles if they want them, brushing, playing, and making sure they feel relaxed and loved until you're home again. Every cat has a story—I can't wait to meet yours.
“Dani was excellent to communicate with and treated my dog well… lots of walks and attention. We dropped him off for the afternoon so we could do a cruise to spirit island… which was not dog friendly. Highly recommend!!”

About: I’ve been a cat lover my whole life and was lucky enough to grow up with my own cat for 15 wonderful years. I understand how important it is to have someone you trust caring for your pet while you’re away — someone who truly gets how sensitive, particular, and affectionate cats can be in their own unique ways. Whether it’s keeping their routine consistent, making sure their favorite sunny spot is ready, or giving them space when they need it, I’m attentive to their needs and personalities. I always prioritize their comfort, safety, and well-being.

About: My goal for your dog while they are staying is for her to feel safe and comfortable. I am able to work with the routine your dog currently has and hopefully make her stay with me feel comfortable but also like a vacation. I’ve had my own dogs for over 15 years and understand how unique and special each one is. I’ve cared for senior dogs and most recently a puppy. I work from home during the week so your dog will have company. Depending on your dog’s exercise requirements, I am able to walk your dog before and after work and at lunch. On the weekends, I usually plan an outing such as a hiking, swimming, or visiting a local park. I have a 1 1/2 year old Labrador retriever who is extremely friendly and would love the company of another dog. I also have a cat. I have a fully fenced backyard for the dogs to play, relax in the sun and for easy bathroom breaks. I’d like to work with you to customize a plan for your dog’s care while she is staying with me

About: I had the pleasure of growing up on a farm in rural Alberta helping to care for many cats and other animals. Eight years ago I relocated to BC and have had the joys of cat ownership, as well fostering through the local SPCA. I absolutely am a crazy cat lady and will take exceptional care of your kitties! I work as an RN and can do some basic med administration. I occasionally do shift work so would not be taking pet sits during long stretches of work. I am very flexible with my time and can prioritize a pet routine in well around the few activities and home-bodying that I normally do! I am able to care for cats in your home or my home. Happy to chat more about this if I am a good fit for your cat!
About: I’ve been an animal lover all my life, growing up our house was nick named the zoo (we had many animals) I have taken care of dogs/cats of every kind since I was young. I’ve always had a passion for animals and taking care of not only my own, but my friends pets as well. My friends like to nickname me mama bear and the animal whisperer 😻 I’ve volunteered at spca and currently looking into opportunities out here in Nelson as I moved only a few months ago from Alberta. I’m a huge outdoors person, I love to hike, go for jogs and be in nature. I’m an empath and am really good with feeling people and pet energies, I’m also an early riser and have my own vehicle so I’m open to morning walks. I plan to open up my own pet sitting business in near future, and would love nothing more than to provide a warm welcoming environment for fur friends. I’m very kind and friendly, I can easily strike up conversation and get along with almost anyone. Feel free to ask me any questions and or meet me before hand. I’d love to get to know you and your pet needs more 😻 🐕 I am pretty flexible to work around a schedule, Monday and Wednesdays however I'm gone throughout the day till the evening due to college. I am focusing on my career, however enjoy having pet sitting on the side. Do note that I can do constant care for house sitting bookings, however depending on the type of care this can range anywhere from 100-150 a day. (normally this is for puppies and or dogs with high attention needs) I like a week notice for sittings, if short notice booking comes in less than a week, I do charge an extra fee to move around my schedule and to also provide the proper care for the animals ahead of time. For more details please message me. I always make sure fur friends are safe, being aware of my surroundings and double checking gates, doors and locks. I want to make sure they have plenty of water and food, and well taken care of. I like to imagine being in the shoes of if my cats were being taken care by someone, how would I want my fur babies to be treated and I’d want them to feel comfortable/loved! So I give that service back to others.
About: I have always cherished a profound and sacred connection with animals throughout my entire life. I had a very close relationship with my three pit bull labs growing up. Wherever I go, I find myself forming deep bonds with the animals around me, even though it's been a while since I've had a pet of my own. You might recognize me as that person at the dog park, striking up conversations with every pup that passes by. While I've always yearned to have an animal companion of my own, I believe it's crucial to provide them with the perfect environment for a fulfilling life. Unfortunately, my current rental doesn't permit pets. This is where you and your beloved pet come into the picture. It would be an absolute honor for me to spend time with your furry friend, embarking on adventurous journeys together. As an avid mushroom hunter and hiker for most of the year, I guarantee that our forest explorations will be nothing short of extraordinary. Plus, being relatively new to Nelson, I am eager to discover new sights and experiences the Koots has to offer. Caring for animals is second nature to me, and I have a wealth of experience in pet-sitting with positive reviews from their owners (which I'd be happy to share with you). Since relocating here, I've been entrusted with the care of my friends' pets during house sits, and I regularly tend to the animals at my partner's home. With my current work schedule allowing for flexibility, I have ample availability, even for last-minute requests for walks or home visits. Your pet's well-being and happiness are of utmost importance to me, and I'm eager to be their trusted companion. I hope to also build my reputation on Rover with your help. I currently work two days a week, which provides me with a significant amount of flexibility. This means I have ample availability for pet sitting, including last-minute requests for walks or home visits. I understand the importance of being reliable and accommodating, and I'm committed to ensuring that your cat receives the attention and care they deserve, even on short notice. Whether in the comfort of your own home, I prioritize your little furry family’s well-being. I promise to maintain routines, administer medications if needed, and provide companionship following your guidelines, and ensure their safety. I will communicate very well and clear so you know what is going on and how good of a time your pet is having!

About: I have been a dog mom all my life. I have an Egyptian rescue dog, Hummus. She is 10 and an absolute sweetheart. We do lots of hikes, beach visits, and rail trail walks both on and off leash. I always have lots of dog toys and treats on hand, extra leashes, etc. I am currently on mat leave so have lots of extra time at the moment. I have experience with all sorts of breeds. Growing up, we had Labs, Shepherds, and Pomeranians, and now I have a rescue pup. I am comfortable working with dogs with anxiety, so am careful to create a positive environment for them where they feel safe and loved :) Since I have a dog of my own, dog walks and getting her energy out and making sure she gets lots of activity - both physical and mental - is a part of our daily life. We are happy to do indoor playtime or walks or hikes outside. I cater my day to your pet’s needs depending on their energy levels and temperament.

About: I’m a lifelong dog lover who grew up with golden retrievers, and I’ve been dog-sitting in Nelson for over two years. I’ve cared for puppies, seniors, high-energy dogs, and easygoing couch companions, and I enjoy adapting to whatever pace your pup prefers. I love taking dogs out on Nelson’s beautiful trails for fresh air and adventure. Whether your dog wants to sniff every tree or prefers a more relaxed stroll, I’m all about making their time with me tail-waggingly fun! With a flexible work schedule, I’m able to accommodate a wide range of routines, visits, and energy levels. I’m all about making sure your dog feels comfortable, safe, and happy while you’re away—because every pup deserves to have a good time, even if their human is off doing human things. I am currently working a casual schedule. I am available for morning, afternoon and evening walks! I am available for pet sitting during the week or weekend! I have my own suite that has access to a grassy area out front. I am a few minutes walk to the graveyard trails. Dogs that stay with me will be taken on morning walk, mid afternoon walk and a longer nature walk in the early evenings!
