“Amira was absolutely fantastic. Our moody chihuahua took to her right away and she did great giving our senior boxer all the meds he needed with a last minute injury. She kept him happy even when his activity was low. Pups loved her and can’t recommend her enough. Lovers of pictures and updates throughout our trip.”

About: I've shared my life with dogs and cats for more than 20 years and have experience caring for pets with unique needs. One of the experiences that shaped me most was fostering and adopting Beagles retired from pharmaceutical laboratory testing. These dogs often required extra patience, gentle handling, confidence-building, and close attention to their physical and emotional well-being. Because of this experience, I'm comfortable administering medications, following special diets, monitoring changes in behavior, and providing calm, attentive care for senior pets or animals who may be anxious, shy, or adjusting to new situations. My goal is always to make pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while their families are away. As an entrepreneur currently building my own business, I have the flexibility to create my schedule around the needs of my clients and their pets. This allows me to be available for daytime visits, walks, feeding schedules, medication administration, and check-ins that can be challenging for those working a traditional 9-to-5 schedule. Pet care is something I genuinely enjoy, and I appreciate the opportunity to spend time with animals while helping their families travel or manage busy days with peace of mind. Since I provide care in your pet's home, my priority is maintaining their normal routine and helping them feel comfortable in a familiar environment. I carefully follow all instructions regarding feeding, medications, walks, playtime, and household rules. Safety is always my first priority, from checking doors and gates to ensuring pets are secure on walks and monitored for any changes in behavior or well-being. I understand that trusting someone with both your pet and your home is a big decision, and I strive to provide dependable care, clear communication, and regular updates while you're away.
“Irmak was a wonderful petsitter and housesitter! She was wonderful with our little dog Olive. She stayed in regular communication with us, which really set our minds at ease while we were away. She provided the best care and we're so happy to have found her! Thanks again!”

“Perla est une personne de confiance qui est douce et rassurante avec les animaux. Elle prend le temps de les connaître. Perla a gardé mon chat pendant 4 nuits pour le Nouvel An. Je suis extrêmement satisfaite. J’ai reçu des photos et des comptes rendus tous les jours. Et la maison eétait en parfait état à mon retour.”

About: I love animals with my all heart, cats are my specialty but I love dogs - small or big. I'd love to get a big dog eventually, but I cannot give one the proper life and care right now. As a pet owner, you can trust that I will respect and honour your boundaries with your pets. I make sure my cats have daily playtime, and get the stimulation they need. They get treats to reward good behaviour, but not daily. I brush them weekly, trim their nails weekly and scoop the litter twice a day. For cats I make sure they feel secure with my presence - respect their territory and boundaries. I always ask the owners what are the house rules and what their personality like to better respond to their needs.

About: Ever since I was little, we've had pets in our home. From small dogs to large rescues. Cats too. I've dog-sat for many people around me, and now I'm offering my humble services to you! I'm fortunate to set my own schedule, so my availability is broad and flexible. The only days I'm unavailable are Tuesday through Thursday evenings. It'll be a pleasure to hear from you I always prioritize the owners' requests. Then I adapt to the animal's personality as best I can! Keeping a close eye on the animal and providing them with a warm and enjoyable environment.
“Maha was absolutely wonderful with my kitten, Leo. This was my first time leaving him with a sitter, so I was a little nervous, but she made the entire experience completely stress free. She sent me photos and updates throughout the day without me even having to ask, which was so reassuring. It honestly felt like I was still there with him. Every picture showed how happy, comfortable, and relaxed he was with her. She was kind, patient, reliable, and clearly genuinely cares about animals. She even stayed a little longer when I was running late getting home, which I really appreciated. I came home to a very happy and relaxed kitten, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I would trust Maha with Leo again in a heartbeat and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and dependable pet sitter!”

“Madeleine and Fred took to each other immediately, making me feel incredibly at ease with leaving them together for a couple of hours! Madeleine's bubbly, animated, and friendly personality is particularly endearing, and her can-do attitude makes me confident in knowing that Fred is being left in good/capable hands! Would 10/10 rebook!”

About: Depuis mon adolescence, j'ai élevé ma Lucy, adorable Basset Hound, de ses 11 mois à l'âge d'or. I took care of my Lucy, a lovely Basset Hound, from her 11 months to her senior age since my teens. My neighbor sometimes ask me to care about her puppies, a 2 years old Great Dane and 2 Yorkshires of 9 years. Thus, I will care of your furry children with special needs and from all ages. Energetic to more passive, I can adapt myself to your pups! I'm self-employed and my schedule is fixed at the beginning of the week. My flexible schedule will let me pamper your pup, take many walks and bathroom breaks. 📌Please note that I will not take care of cats living with pups because I'm allergic to cats. 🐕🌡️ I will care for your doggy in your home because it is an environment they are accustomed. I like to give frequent updates so you can be at ease while at work, on a trip or for any activity you have. I like to bring your fur friend to dog parks, with your permission of course! If your doggy have an appointment with their vet (range of 30 min by walk max), I can be there.🐕🌡️

“Junya did an excellent job taking care of my 3 year old border collie, while I was on vacation. She spent 11 days dog and house sitting. I came back home with my dog happy and healthy. As well as with my house being well maintained and respected. Thank you so much!!”

About: I have extensive experience caring for dogs and cats through long-term house sitting as well as throughout my personal life. Over the years, friends, family, and homeowners have trusted me to care for their pets while they traveled, including extended stays in Australia, New York, and Las Vegas. In Australia, I cared for a Poodle and a cat for one month while staying in the owners’ home. In New York, I looked after a Dogo Argentino for one month. In Las Vegas, I completed two additional long-term house sits: one for a month with a Chihuahua and a large Golden Retriever, and another for four weeks caring for two medium-sized dogs—a mixed breed and a Poodle. Beyond house sitting, I’ve been surrounded by dogs my entire life. I grew up with breeds of all sizes, from Weimaraner's to Poodles, and have also cared for Cocker Spaniels, Schnauzers, and many mixed breeds. Friends, family, and roommates regularly trusted me to care for their dogs while they were away, often for a week or longer. I’ve also fostered rescue dogs until they found loving permanent homes. I’m comfortable adapting to each pet’s unique personality and routine, and I always prioritize their safety, comfort, and well-being while keeping owners updated throughout their stay. I work remotely, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to provide pets with plenty of attention throughout the day. I can easily adapt to your pet’s routine, whether they need walks, playtime, feeding, medication reminders, or simply companionship. I’m available on weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays with advance notice. I live in a spacious 5½ apartment that provides a quiet, comfortable, and pet-friendly environment. One of the bedrooms is rarely used, giving pets extra space to relax if they prefer a quieter area. The apartment has built-in air conditioning to keep pets comfortable year-round, as well as a large private back terrace where they can safely enjoy fresh air and sunshine between potty breaks. I’m just a 3-minute walk from Parc La Fontaine, making it easy to provide regular walks, exercise, and plenty of outdoors. I always follow each pet’s routine and the owner’s instructions to help them feel safe, comfortable, and at home during their stay.
“Fatemeh was beyond excellent. She took very good care of my kitten and my apartment for a week while I was out of the country and provided many detailed updates daily. I've already rebooked for another week.”

“Ilya watched our one year old husky rescue, Raclette, for three days at our apartment while we were out of town and did a fantastic job. They were patient and kind with Raclette who can be a bit of a handful and great at following our routine and care instructions. We were reassured by the frequent updates and pics and Raclette seemed to really bond easily with Ilya. Ilya also left our place nice and clean. Would definitely hire Ilya again!”

About: I will give you daily updates while pet sitting with stories, videos & photos. I had pets all my life until recently & love pet sitting in other people's homes. In the 1980s my mum started a pet sitting hotel that including going to people's houses to take care of their animals. She trained me to be her assistant as a little kid and not only would they help with responsibilities but was taught how to answer the phone professionally as a secretary. We pretty much had a small Zoo at home When I was growing up with our own pets, we had rabbits, rodents, an iguana, different types of salamanders and newts, fish, land and water turtles, cats and dogs, and birds. I raised cockatiels from egg as a teenager including whistling to a baby bird who whistled back from inside the shell which was an incredible experience and later teaching that bird how to fly. The two cats I had over my twenties and thirties I had from 2002 until when they died in 2017 and 2019 respectively, I brought them to Montreal from mission BC, they were brother and sister. I was too heartbroken after that to have my own pets anymore and prefer taking care of other people's animals as a pet sitter. I'm self-employed and offer a variety of services, including face painting, body painting, jagua and henna temporary tattoos, photography, fine art, Halloween makeup, and more. I also take on gig work as a residential cleaner and interior wall painter. I have invisible disabilities, including ADHD, which affects my sleep, so I'm naturally not a morning person. However, I actively work on improving my sleep schedule and do my best to maintain the earliest routine I reasonably can. When I'm doing a live-in pet sitting assignment—which is my preferred type of booking—it's much easier for me to adapt my schedule around any other work I take on throughout the city. Clients home only. I'm a big believer in keeping animals in their familiar environments because it's stressful enough when their primary human companion is away, there's no need to deregulate them by moving them to an unfamiliar place. I just feel it's kinder and gentler that's the only new thing they're having to deal with is getting used to the pet sitter. Animals are like small children and they do better when they have consistency, familiarity and routine

Merci Tristan. De Charles, Alexandra, Milo, Arya et Olive.

Sarah stayed at home for 1 week with Max & Lily! She always updated us and sent pictures! She communicated with us with any questions or concerns she had. We will definitely book again with her for any future trips! We definitely recommend her! She has a calming effect on the dogs, when she met prior to us leaving, the dogs instantly felt safe. Thank you Sarah for taking care of our doggies

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Laval on Rover is $48.88 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 1,117 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Laval. Enter your postal code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Laval maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Laval walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Laval choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 88% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
