“Thank you for taking care of Bagheera over the weekend! You reaching out to ask questions and sharing the amazing pictures and how he behaved showed that you cared and wanted to provide the right care for my fur baby. Appreciate it!”

“I highly recommend Debra as your pet sitter! She was absolutely awesome — caring, reliable, and thoughtful. I loved receiving regular photo updates from her, which gave me peace of mind and showed just how well my fur babies were doing. It’s clear she truly cares about animals and treats them like her own. I’ll definitely be using her again!”

“Xi and Rosie were so kind to my dog Lemon. Xi kept me updated the whole weekend with lots of photos and videos. She ensured she followed lemons food and walk routine. Lemon really enjoyed his stay! Thank you Xi ❤️ He will surely be back for another stay”

“Marc & Alysia (and family) are fantastic! They treated my pup like their own and he had an amazing day. They managed to tire out my 7 m/o Aussie (which is a challenge) and he returned happy and calm. Highly recommended!!!”

About: Grew up around dogs since birth. Good with big and small dogs as I grew up around both. Very loving person who loves to make dogs happy! I am a stay at home, love taking my dog on long walks, playing and spending quality time together as he is my best friend. I have a two year old cockapoo that can keep your I dog company and have a crate at my place if needed. My dog is very friendly!

“Sue and Brian were awesome with audio! They kept him active and gave lots of updates throughout his stay. They were friendly and easygoing and I felt very comfortable leaving Audio with them. Would highly recommend their services and I’ll be using them again, forsure!”

“Our dogs had a wonderful stay with Donna and her family! Both Gus and Winnie are senior dogs (14 and 13) who have been going to the same kennel for 10 years. When our kennel had to cancel last minute we were at a loss as we had a 3 week trip coming up -over the Easter holiday - and no one to watch the dogs. This was our first Rover experience and I’m so glad it worked out! Gus and Winnie have never stayed with anyone else so we were really nervous. Donna was so great at making both dogs comfortable and communicating with us while we were away. Gus had some issues early on (we think due to stress) and Donna went out of her way to adjust her schedule and his surroundings so that he was comfortable. Winnie is your typical snuggly Pug and I could tell she was right at home by the photos sent of her snuggling on the couch and hanging out with Donna’s children. Would definitely recommend Donna - thank you!”

“Our Poppy had a great weekend with Salvatore and his family! She was given lots of attention and appreciated the walks and the opportunity to patrol the back yard.”

About: I've had dogs and cats my whole life. They aren't just pets though, they are part of the family! We currently have a 2 year old black lab/boxer. I always want the best for my dog and I know you do too! I am currently retired and home all day every day! Your dogs will never be alone. In fact, I love taking them for walks through the forest and playing with them in the backyard! My dog has the run of the house and is allowed everywhere in the house and the backyard is entirely fenced in. They are allowed to go in and out on their own as much as they want to!
“We just absolutely love having Otis stay with Vidya and Ratnam! As always, he’s very comfortable with them and happy as soon as he gets there! We enjoy all the regular updates :) See you again soon!”

“Shannon was great with Aries. He was happy and got updates daily on how he was settling in and enjoying his time with Lola. So glad we could enjoy our week away knowing he was being loved and cared for so well.”

“Mike took our Arlo short notice which we are so thankful for!! He was very kind with him and sent frequent updates with pics. We will be using Mikes services again in the future for sure!! ??”

“We had an amazing experience with Brenda. Brenda and her family went above and beyond to make sure our puppy was comfortable, loved and happy. They took her for daily walks too although the weather was very cold. This was our first experience leaving our puppy with someone else and turned out pretty well. I definitely recommend Brenda and her nice family.”

“We had such an amazing experience with Tsz. She went above and beyond while we were on vacation, consistently sending pictures and videos that gave us so much peace of mind. It really meant a lot to see how happy and well cared for our dog was while we were away. At the end of each day, she also provided detailed updates and notes about feedings, activities, and how everything went, which we truly appreciated. It showed how attentive and organized she is. Our 11-month-old Golden Retriever absolutely loved her, and it was clear she treated him like her own. We felt completely comfortable knowing he was in such good hands. 10/10 would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and attentive dog sitter!”

“Sara took excellent care of our energetic Airedale terrier. He had multiple walks, a clean and spacious house, and large fenced backyard. She sent us plenty of photos and updates, and we knew that our dog was very well cared for. They have 2 friendly, non-aggressive dogs that played well with our dog. I highly recommend Sara and Cody for anyone who wants exceptional care for their dog.”

“Samantha is amazing!! We needed someone to board our boy Cooper for one week while we went out of the country. It was very stressful as we had never left him before but when we talked and met Samantha we felt so much better about it. He had a great week! She sent us lots of videos and pics with updates and it was so nice for Cooper to have a friend to play with (her dog Miko) looks like they had the best time with lots of walks and playing. Will definitely use Samantha in the future. Thanks so much for taking great care of our boy.”

It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
