“Bianca and Michael took such great care of her 12-year-old boy butters. They are kind and loveable family who took him in and showed him the same love that we do. They sent us updated photos and cute little messages and kept us updated on how he was and his activities. Butters definitely enjoyed being at their home and I’m sure he’s looking forward to seeing them again and vice versa. we want to thank Michael and Bianca again so much for taking such great care of our little guy. Looking forward to seeing you guys again.❤️”

“Meghan, was great with my dog Jasper. She was available to watch Jasper last minute arrangement a day before. I had a death in family and required a sitter for my dog. Very pleased with her care for Jasper, and the walks, and having him interact with her dog and kids.”

“Don’t think there’s another person who should watch your pup if you’re anywhere near her area. She was amazing and lovely and personable. It’s obvious she loves animals and was wonderful with our Mylee too, who probably followed her around all day and stood at her feet until she got belly rubs and cuddles. lol She sent updates and pics and organized my dog bag better than I ever have when we arrived for PU… and washed all of Mylee’s blankets too!! Like damn! We picked up a very happy pup today. Thank you so much Kim. 💚”

“Luna was well cared for. Taken on many walks and enjoyed tug of war games daily. Nicholas provided daily updates and pictures of Luna’s experiences. I definitely would use Nicholas’ services again and highly recommend him to others seeking peace of mind while you’re away.”

“Xi always takes care of Lemon as if he were her own dog. She is truly amazing—she sends lots of photo and video updates, which always gives me peace of mind. Lemon always comes home happy, relaxed, and well cared for. It really feels like a second home because of all the love, attention, and care he receives. Thank you so much, Xi! We appreciate everything you do.”

“Patricia is an excellent dog sitter! She spent a great amount of time with our dog and provided lot’s of care and effort. She gave her best at all times, and is always providing detailed updates throughout the day. We were really happy with her work.”
“Our dogs had a wonderful stay with Donna and her family! Both Gus and Winnie are senior dogs (14 and 13) who have been going to the same kennel for 10 years. When our kennel had to cancel last minute we were at a loss as we had a 3 week trip coming up -over the Easter holiday - and no one to watch the dogs. This was our first Rover experience and I’m so glad it worked out! Gus and Winnie have never stayed with anyone else so we were really nervous. Donna was so great at making both dogs comfortable and communicating with us while we were away. Gus had some issues early on (we think due to stress) and Donna went out of her way to adjust her schedule and his surroundings so that he was comfortable. Winnie is your typical snuggly Pug and I could tell she was right at home by the photos sent of her snuggling on the couch and hanging out with Donna’s children. Would definitely recommend Donna - thank you!”

“Eddie took great care of our dog! Our dog, unfortunately, had a stomach virus while we were away and Eddie communicated well and made sure our dog was well looked after.”

“I am so grateful for the amazing job Jun did for Cooper. He went beyond my expectations to make Cooper welcome and care for him with love. For dogs owners in the area, look no farther. Jun is absolutely the best. I will always trust him with my dog and I am sure that Cooper is looking forward to his next visit! Amazing job. Thanks Jun from the bottom of my heart.”

“Our Poppy had a great weekend with Salvatore and his family! She was given lots of attention and appreciated the walks and the opportunity to patrol the back yard.”

“Third booking with Theresa. My dog is really comfortable staying with her. Always a good experience with peace of mind knowing that Alvin is happy and well cared for. Thank you Theresa!”

“Thank you Cindy for taking care of Zoe from 27Mar- 02 Apr,Zoe received the same love, care, walks & cuddles like home from Cindy,I deeply appreciate your efforts and support with regular photos and updates. Zoe returned home way more calmer and quieter pup and she got to play and spent time with other 3 guest small dogs and 2 inhouse furry friends.Cindy is so clear, transparent in her communication, made our travel easy and stress-free. Zoe is an anxious kid anyways, so she was missing us and her home in that way she lost quiet a weight in her worry. Thank you Cindy, this experiment was indeed successful, loved Josie and Jack too, true friends of Zoe in making her a better version of herself. See you soon. ❤️🙏”

“Wonderful experience! This was our 6 month old puppies first time away overnight, and we were gone for 18 nights! Santanna was so loving and natural with dogs that we felt immediately at ease. We had regular updates and videos of Bronte. We highly recommend this sitter.”

“Jacqueline is absolutely phenomenal! We booked our senior basset hound with her for 4 nights and she was extremely responsive and such a pleasure to deal with! Norah came home happy and Jacqueline treated her like her own fur baby during her stay. We will definitely be booking with Jacqueline again, thanks so much Jacqueline!”

“Magda and Suzanne were fabulous They kept us abreast of Owen’s daily activities; they send us updates and are super friendly. Owen comes back looking good too !!!”

“Pivonne took care of my dogs while we were on vacation, there were absolutely no issues. Our dogs looked happy and well taken care of when we returned from our trip. We will definitely book Pivonne again when we travel. Thanks Pivonne!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
