“Cedar had a great time with Susan over the long weekend. We were kept up-to-date with photos of Cedar during her visit and it definitely looked like she was living her best life while we were away. I don't even know if she missed us with all the fun and attention she was given. We definitely recommend Susan and will definitely be using her again.”

“Tyler took great care of our girl while we were away. She received lots of exercise and snuggles. Tyler sent us lots of pictures and updates. I could tell Callie was very comfortable there. I definitely recommend Tyler for a home away from home for your dog.”

“Lady was super relaxed when we picked her up. She was a happy girl, my stepmom was very happy with the experience and glad we did a trial night before our trip in May. Thank you Stephanie for easing her concerns and treating Lady very well.”

“Catalin was great for our Sheppard Fritz. He has a very big fenced yard where they played fetch. There are walking trails close by that Fritz was walked on and provided lots of updates and pictures. I would highly recommend. We will definitely take Fritz back next time we are in town. Also a very convenient spot close to the highway.”

“Natalie took the best care of our girl. She gave us lots of updates and photos of Callie. Callie got lots of walks and attention. She went above and beyond by letting us extend Callie’s stay by an extra night and dropped her off at our house. We highly recommend Natalie.”

“Raphael was an amazing dog sitter! He was incredibly welcoming, responsive, and accommodating from the very beginning. My dog felt instantly safe and comfortable with him, and had such a great time playing with his German Shepherd. Raphael sent daily updates along with lots of pictures, which gave me peace of mind knowing my dog was happy and well cared for. It was clear he treated my dog like one of his own. I will definitely be booking with Raphael again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog sitter!”

“My dog Hime has never stayed overnight at another house before, and we had a 3-day trip we could not take her with us. I contacted Yogini and she quickly replied to me. She was interested to know Hime's routines and she took a great care of her, took her out for a walk and played with her. She sent me photos along the day and I had peace of mind knowing my fur baby was receiving good care. It's so good to know that I can count on Yogini for taking care of Hime next time we need. I definitely recommend her!”

About: I’ve had dogs most of my life, and my kids were raised with dogs. I work from home which allows me to be with your dog almost all the time. As an added bonus I have two daughters that also love dogs and will help care for them, especially my youngest (12yr old)… dogs love her (so do kids lol). We currently have two dogs (Shichon and Terrier mix). As we are new to dog sitting, at this time we are looking to dog sit 1 dog at a time. Currently work from home and available any day of the week. My kids will also be helping evenings and weekends, or when there’s no school. We do not have a fenced yard however we do have a fenced gravel area for them to do their business (off our back patio).
“Cedar had a great stay with Jennifer, Eduardo and their dog. I received lots of updates and they treated her just like family. We will definitely be re booking with them for our next vacation! Thank you so much for taking care of my baby girl.”

I share your concerns, as I also worry about my own pets in the same way. Before our walks, I double-check that collars, harnesses, and leashes are securely fastened. When leaving your home, I am sure to lock all doors to keep your home safe. To keep you informed, I provide detailed reports and share pictures after each service. We’re so grateful to Sarah & Ryan for the amazing care they gave our elderly dog, Chloe. They were patient, attentive, and loving towards her. They were easy to communicate with and sent updates with pictures which we appreciated. Chloe loved her time with them and came home a relaxed and happy pup. Highly recommend for anyone with an older dog who needs some loving care!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
