“Alisha and Jesse kept our 2 dogs overnight and it was a great experience! They were very accommodating and shared photos during the stay. We will definitely get them to watch them again!”

“Natalie took the best care of our girl. She gave us lots of updates and photos of Callie. Callie got lots of walks and attention. She went above and beyond by letting us extend Callie’s stay by an extra night and dropped her off at our house. We highly recommend Natalie.”

“Tyler took great care of our girl while we were away. She received lots of exercise and snuggles. Tyler sent us lots of pictures and updates. I could tell Callie was very comfortable there. I definitely recommend Tyler for a home away from home for your dog.”

“Susan has been so helpful in taking care of Pepper. She was flexible and accommodating with pickup and dropoff. She took great care of Pepper with several walks each day. Susan was sensitive to Peppers needs for security and regularity it seemed that, even though Pepper is often unsettled, she was calm and relaxed for the whole visit. Thanks so much for creating a home away from home for our dog!”

“Lady was super relaxed when we picked her up. She was a happy girl, my stepmom was very happy with the experience and glad we did a trial night before our trip in May. Thank you Stephanie for easing her concerns and treating Lady very well.”

About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life and heart. Today I am the proud parent of a goofy 1 year old Bernese-Golden mix named Foog, so I am no stranger to puppy energy and training, having experience in all age ranges of dogs. I grew up with dogs, one of which had diabetes and required a daily administration of insulin, pills, and special care. I have also cared for cats, bunnies, chickens, guinea pigs, and fish. I love animals of all kinds! Outside of pet sitting, I am a fisheries ecologist, which means my personal and professional life revolves around animal wellbeing. Whether it’s administering medications, handling energetic pups, or just giving extra cuddles, I treat every animal like they are my own. As a PhD student at UNB, I have flexibility in my schedule throughout the week for walks and boarding as I will work from home some days. Whether it’s daily walks, drop-ins, or longer stays, I can adjust to fit your pet’s routine and make sure they get all the love and attention they deserve. I provide a welcoming space, treating each animal like my own. I always prioritize safety (supervised play in secure places, watchful eyes for anything on the ground) and will make sure your pets feels safe and happy. We back onto a large field with lots of play space and quiet streets that are perfect for sniffing, walking, and exploring. My pup, Foog, is a playful and loving dog who loves making new friends and is allowed on our comfy couch like family. We have successfully hosted many visiting dogs in our home, Foog is a great friend.
“Our dog Wallace stayed with Nicola and her family over 10 days. They sent us a lot of pictures and gave us regular updates. I plan on asking them again to watch Wallace! Highly recommend Nicola!”

“Yogini was amazing with my puppy Blue! She sent many pictures and updates, she did a lot of walks, dog park trips, and even took blue for a play date with another doggy! She bathed him and did his nails too! My blue came home all happy, soft and smelling good! I would have her watch my fur baby any day!”

“Catalin was great for our Sheppard Fritz. He has a very big fenced yard where they played fetch. There are walking trails close by that Fritz was walked on and provided lots of updates and pictures. I would highly recommend. We will definitely take Fritz back next time we are in town. Also a very convenient spot close to the highway.”

About: Ive spent the better part of 40 years with dogs and cats. Lost mine a few years back and would very much enjoy caring for yours! I have recently retired and misses being around animals. I’m interested in helping you out by walking, feeding or staying with your loved ones while you are away. I’ve had plenty of experience caring for both our own dog and cat as well as a wide assortment of other pets of friends and family.
About: I absolutely adore animals and grew up surrounded by dogs, cats, parrots, iguanas, turtles, hamsters, fish, you name it. I have always been interested in researching and providing the best living environment to each animal I owned and enjoy seeing them flourish under my care. During the summer I am free anytime and day of the week. From September until June I am available after 4pm and on weekends after 6am. I have a huge fenced in park that is a two minutes walk away from my home where I often take my small Eskipoo to play after our structured long walks around our family friendly neighbourhood. I do not have children so your pet will be in the absolute best care and will get spoiled rotten. I will be very good at listening to how you want me to care for your animal as I know each owner is different and they know their pet best. With my dog, I give him lots of love and attention in the form of physical exercise, play, and lots of cuddles. I am here to ensure you feel safe and happy leaving your pet under my care as I know how precious and what a huge important part they play in our lives. My dog is very friendly and loves other animals, he is hypoallergenic and is allowed on the furniture. He is a medium-low energy dog and weighs about 15 pounds. My partner and I do not smoke and we do not have any other pets other than our Eskipoo. Feel free to message me with any questions or concerns and let me know if you enjoy getting updates on your pet while you are away! I will be more than happy to send you pictures for you to check in with your baby.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
