“Alisha and Jesse are the best! They are very kind and they are amazing and caring dog sitters. They took such good care of our dog Tilley, and kept us updated throughout Tilley’s stay with pictures and messages. We would highly recommend them and we would not hesitate to rebook with them in the future!”

“Lady was super relaxed when we picked her up. She was a happy girl, my stepmom was very happy with the experience and glad we did a trial night before our trip in May. Thank you Stephanie for easing her concerns and treating Lady very well.”

“Tyler is an exceptional sitter. She contacted me before the weekend to ask what my dog liked to do because she was planning a weekend of fun for them. She sent pictures and updates to let us know everything was going well. The home is on a quiet street with sidewalks, so I know they were both safe while out for walks. Our dog usually doesn't eat for sitters; this weekend, however, the dog ate every meal. I almost do not want to share this review with anyone. Tyler will become too popular, and we will not be able to book her :) I highly recommend this sitter.”

“Susan is an amazing sitter and her updates and pictures when I’m away are always so sweet and make me feel so so reassured!! Mazie feels at home when she’s with her and gets lots of love and extra care!! Highly recommend!”

“Yogini was amazing with my puppy Blue! She sent many pictures and updates, she did a lot of walks, dog park trips, and even took blue for a play date with another doggy! She bathed him and did his nails too! My blue came home all happy, soft and smelling good! I would have her watch my fur baby any day!”

About: I want to ensure your pets have a healthy and safe environment while you are away. I aim to follow your routine of care. I am happy to spend time indoors or outdoors with your pet(s). I can ensure they are well taken care of, fed and a little exhausted!
“Heather and her family take such good care of our dog. You can just tell how comfortable she is with them, and she always comes home happy after staying there. Amazing people, highly recommend as they will take good care of your pup!”

About: I have cared for pets my entire life and consider them members of my family. I have always known from a very young age that I wanted to spend my life caring for animals. I have six years of experience as a veterinary technician, a diploma in Animal Health Technology (2011), and can confidently give medications as prescribed by a veterinarian. I am a certified Wildlife First Responder through the Atlantic Wildlife Institute (2013) and attended the Basic Animal Rescue Course - Level 1 offered by Animal Rescue Corps (2013). I also have grooming certification through ICS Canada (2014), but have limited hands-on experience. My husband and I care for 6 cats and 5 dogs, along with fostering for local shelters and rescues. These commitments keep us busy, which is why my services are limited to drop-ins and dog-walking. My main goal with this endeavor is to help support pet ownership within an aging population for those who may have difficulty medicating or exercising their pets. I truly believe that pets are for life and basic care and exercise shouldn't be things that a loving owner should have to worry about providing for their pet. That is my main goal, but I am happy to provide services to any pet owner in search of some assistance. I have my own vehicle and I work locally, which allows me to be uniquely available for drop ins and walks multiple times a day. I am comfortable caring for pets in your home, which will save them the stress of a new environment. They can continue enjoying their own routines that I will do my best to support in their owners absence.
“Sharon was fantastic with Charlie. He stayed for 2 nights and he would have stayed longer if it were up to him. I was glad to receive several photos of Charlie having fun on walks and around the house. If we lived in the area we would bring him to her regularly.”

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Nackawic home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favourite hang-out spots in your Nackawic
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
