About: Our family provides pet care together, with myself and my husband, Vitaly, being fully responsible for all pets in our care. Our 11-year-old daughter is also deeply involved and passionate about animals. She has completed courses through the local Humane Society and is currently finishing a pet sitter course. She loves helping with walks, playtime, feeding, brushing, and giving animals lots of affection under our supervision. We also have another 8 year old daughter and 4 year old son. Animals are already a meaningful part of our family life, and we are planning to welcome our own dog within the next two years. In many ways, pet care has become a beautiful opportunity for us to spend time with dogs while continuing to learn and prepare as future dog owners ourselves. As a family, we enjoy learning about dog behaviour, training, and care, and even love watching Cesar Millan together. We have hands-on experience caring for a wide variety of animals. We have completed both a 10-day farm sitting stay in the summer and a 7-day stay in the winter for close friends with a hobby farm that includes two dogs, a cat, goats, chickens, and other animals. Our responsibilities included daily feeding, animal care, cleaning, outdoor chores, and even milking goats. In addition, we have experience fostering dogs in our home, providing pet care for friends and neighbours, dog walking, and drop-in visits/check-ins for bathroom breaks and companionship. One summer, we also helped a neighbour with daily noon-time puppy check-ins for six weeks while they were at work. We are a calm, caring, outdoorsy family who genuinely enjoys spending time with animals and making sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for while their owners are away. We are best suited for dogs who are comfortable around children and reasonably calm around cats. We do have a cat in the home, though she has her own quiet spaces and hiding spots where she can retreat comfortably when needed. My husband and I both work as entrepreneurs mostly from home. We do sometimes leave the house for around 2-4 hrs for different activities with our homeschooled children. Sometimes we can bring dogs with us, sometimes they need to stay at the house. Our family like to take regular walks in the morning and evening so we don’t need to change our routine too much when we add a dog to the house. We have a fenced yard and three level house. We are extra tidy when dogs are around and are careful with leaving food out. We once had a dog eat a brick of butter from the counter…let’s say we learned our lesson!
“Sara and Cody are incredible people who took amazing care of my fur baby. Charlotte was very well cared for, and Sara truly went above and beyond to make sure she was happy, comfortable, and loved. I couldn't have asked for better care, and I highly recommend them!”

About: I’ve been taking care of dogs since I was little. I’ve grown up with dogs and currently have an Australian Shepherd of my own along with a cat and a bunny! My dog would love to join all of the adventures but also understands that not everybody wants to be friends! I am currently work a part time job and have a flexible schedule! I am available mornings, afternoons and nights! This includes weekends as well. I have an unfenced yard and my dog is let outside by leash. This is compensated by MANY walks in a day and lots of adventures. My home is spacious and my dog is extremely welcoming and loves to make fur friends.
“I had Ellie in 3 times over 2 days and I am so happy with her visits. She came to meet us before the scheduled appointment. She loves animals, and my pup loves her. I have total confidence with Ellie taking care of my wee one. My pup is senior with some health issues. Ellie is gentle and patient. And, luckily, was also available for a quick last minute visit. Very happy. 5 stars!!”

About: Hi! I’m a lifelong animal lover with years of hands-on experience caring for both dogs and cats. Growing up, my dad was a dog trainer, so I was surrounded by dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments from a young age. This gave me a strong understanding of canine behavior and how to make dogs feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for. I’m confident handling dogs on walks, whether they’re energetic, shy, or somewhere in between. I know how important routine, patience, and positive reinforcement are, and I always make sure pets get plenty of exercise, attention, and affection. I also have experience caring for cats and understand that every pet has their own unique personality and needs. Whether your pet loves to play or prefers a quiet companion, I’m happy to provide the care they need while you’re away. I know how much pets mean to their families, and I’ll treat yours like they’re my own. My goal is to give you peace of mind knowing your furry friend is in caring, capable hands. I’m currently working part-time, which gives me plenty of flexibility and extra time to spend with your furry family members. Whether it’s long walks, playtime, cuddle sessions, or simply keeping them company, I’ll make sure your pet gets the attention, love, and care they deserve while you’re away. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine are my top priorities. In my home, I have a fully fenced backyard where dogs can safely play and get plenty of exercise under supervision. We also have two friendly, well-socialized dogs, a Maltese and a Black Lab, who love meeting and playing with other dogs and are comfortable around cats. I always introduce pets slowly and carefully to make sure everyone feels comfortable. If your pet prefers their own space or has a different routine, I’m happy to accommodate their individual needs. When caring for pets in your home, I always follow your instructions to keep your pet’s routine as consistent as possible. I’m comfortable with crating if that’s part of their routine, administering meals, going for walks, playtime, and giving them plenty of love and attention. My goal is to make your pet feel safe, happy, and well cared for, whether they’re staying with me or I’m caring for them in the comfort of their own home.
About: I spent my childhood helping my grandparents take care of animals at their boarding kennel and have been a huge animal lover ever since. I have had several animals of my own (dogs, cat, fish, & bunny). I regularly pet sit for friends and family and have started offering pet-sitting services, locally & abroad, for the past three years. I am comfortable caring for dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, and other small animals. I treat every pet like family, making sure they’re comfortable in their own home environment while you’re away. You can count on me to provide not just the basics - food, walks, and play - but also companionship, calm presence, and genuine care. I have experience caring for senior pets who need extra patience, gentleness, and attention. I understand how to move at their pace, notice the little signs when they’re tired or uncomfortable, and keep them feeling safe and loved. I run (mostly-online) businesses that provides a lot of flexibility in my schedule, so I can work around your pet’s usual routine to keep them feeling safe and comfortable. Whether it’s morning feedings, mid-day playtime, or evening snuggles, I am adaptable and reliable. When caring for pets in your home, I treat both your animals and your space with the utmost respect. I follow your instructions closely to keep your pet’s routine consistent, whether that’s feeding, medications, walks, or playtime. Safety is always my top priority - I double-check doors, gates, and leashes, and I’m attentive to any changes in behavior or health. I want you to feel complete peace of mind knowing that your pets are safe, happy, and loved, and your home is cared for just as you left it.

“We cannot say enough positive things about Ashley. She has helped us immensely with our puppy and has continued to not only take so much stress off of us but helped us in training our puppy and helping her grow into one happy girl. Our puppy loves our time with Ashley and my partner and I are forever grateful that we found somebody as wonderful, genuine, caring and kind as Ashley. We trust her immensely and know that our puppy is in amazing hands!”

“Jessica is amazing. I was nervous as I have never left my cats with anyone, it was our first vacation. We were put at ease from the first visit and were able to enjoy our vacation with no worries. I think the cats thought they were on vacation as well. The pictures Jessica sent us from each visit made our hearts happy. She played music for them each visit. She is amazing and we will hopefully be able to book her for our next vacation. Thank you Jessica.”

“Kevin is a kind and responsible sitter. Auzzie loves him and is happy (and tired out from his walks!) when I get home. I would recommend Kevin to anyone who needs reliable expertise for their pets when they are out of the house.”
“Kristie was wonderful with our cats. They were comfortable with her right from the first meeting. Kristie responded quickly to messages and questions and sent updates and photos with each visit.”

About: I’ve been a lifelong dog lover and recently said goodbye to my two sweet pups who both lived beautiful, full lives to 16 years old. Caring for them through every stage — from playful puppy days to their senior years — gave me deep patience, attentiveness, and love for animals at every age. I understand how much pets mean to a family because mine were truly my heart. I treat every dog in my care with the same gentleness, respect, and affection, making sure they feel safe, happy, and right at home. 🐾 Pet care fits very naturally into my routine because I intentionally keep my schedule flexible. My days off during the week and on weekends allow me to care for your pet 100% of the time — they won’t be left alone for long stretches. I plan my days around walks, feeding times, play, and rest so your pet gets consistent attention and supervision. Whether it’s multiple daily walks, enrichment time, or just extra cuddles, I’m fully present and focused on their care while they’re with me. 🐾 Safety and trust are everything to me. In my home, pets are supervised, loved, and treated like family. While I don’t have a fenced-in backyard, I make up for it with frequent structured walks and outdoor time on a long leash in the yard so they can safely explore, sniff, and enjoy fresh air. I’m attentive to each dog’s energy level and routine — whether that means extra playtime, slower senior strolls, or sticking closely to feeding and medication schedules. In a client’s home, I prioritize keeping your pet’s routine consistent to reduce stress. I follow all instructions carefully, keep doors and gates secure, and provide updates with photos so you always feel connected and reassured. My goal is to create a calm, safe environment where your pet feels comfortable and cared for at all times. 🐾
About: Happy to walk a dog or two. I usually have my kids and dog in tow on walks, but am flexible if that’s not ideal. Our 12yo dog Kutsu (medium sized border collie mix from Japan) is great with other dogs and loves to run, play and explore. He mostly just keeps to himself though and avoids conflict. I am a full time mom looking for extra cash and love dogs, and so do the kids of course. The kids are so far very gentle with our dog and other dogs we’ve had here. We aren’t hosting at this time but will again soon! We're more than happy to accommodate any special needs. We are well-versed in the cone of shame, allergies, and giving medications. I used to be a nurse so learning on the job is my specialty. We believe in positive reinforcement training and have used an e-collar in the past until it wasn’t necessary anymore. Please feel free to talk to us more about how we can support you and your best friend! I am a stay at home mom so I make my own schedule and am very flexible. I am good with last-minute or planned visits. All depends on the needs of the dog. If they like to be left alone, cool. If they need meds, cool. If they need walks all day, cool. We can accomodate!
About: I have been a vet tech for over 5 years but decided that field is no longer for me. I knew I wanted to stay in the field with animals so I became a dog trainer, walker and boarder. Dogs have always been a passion of mine! I will treat your dogs just like my own.. lots of TLC 🥰 I am always around to let your fur babies out to do their business. I work very locally. We will always go for walks in the morning and evening! If you require me to live-in your home, I will need to bring along my personal dog as well. I also have a dog of my own that is super friendly and a great teacher to other dogs. I also have cameras set up around my home for extra safety.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Collingwood
Winston (my 5 year-old golden retriever) loved his walks and playtime with Katherine (and her sweet daughter)! Katherine made sure to give plenty of check-in updates, sweet photos, videos...and it was clear my dog had the best time on his walks and home check-ins. I felt safe knowing my dog was in her care and bonus: got to have kiddo time and fun cuddles, pets and playtime with her and her daughter. My dog loves children, so getting that added bonus of fun with her daughter and her made it extra special. I also appreciated her coming for a meet and greet so Winston could meet her. Katherine was lovely and I felt ease and appreciation knowing Winston would get to see her and have his walks and playtime with her! Thanks so much for providing such a great service and being there for Winston! :) He loved it!!!

You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:
- Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
- House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
- Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.
Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Collingwood choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
