About: Our family provides pet care together, with myself and my husband, Vitaly, being fully responsible for all pets in our care. Our 11-year-old daughter is also deeply involved and passionate about animals. She has completed courses through the local Humane Society and is currently finishing a pet sitter course. She loves helping with walks, playtime, feeding, brushing, and giving animals lots of affection under our supervision. We also have another 8 year old daughter and 4 year old son. Animals are already a meaningful part of our family life, and we are planning to welcome our own dog within the next two years. In many ways, pet care has become a beautiful opportunity for us to spend time with dogs while continuing to learn and prepare as future dog owners ourselves. As a family, we enjoy learning about dog behaviour, training, and care, and even love watching Cesar Millan together. We have hands-on experience caring for a wide variety of animals. We have completed both a 10-day farm sitting stay in the summer and a 7-day stay in the winter for close friends with a hobby farm that includes two dogs, a cat, goats, chickens, and other animals. Our responsibilities included daily feeding, animal care, cleaning, outdoor chores, and even milking goats. In addition, we have experience fostering dogs in our home, providing pet care for friends and neighbours, dog walking, and drop-in visits/check-ins for bathroom breaks and companionship. One summer, we also helped a neighbour with daily noon-time puppy check-ins for six weeks while they were at work. We are a calm, caring, outdoorsy family who genuinely enjoys spending time with animals and making sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for while their owners are away. We are best suited for dogs who are comfortable around children and reasonably calm around cats. We do have a cat in the home, though she has her own quiet spaces and hiding spots where she can retreat comfortably when needed. My husband and I both work as entrepreneurs mostly from home. We do sometimes leave the house for around 2-4 hrs for different activities with our homeschooled children. Sometimes we can bring dogs with us, sometimes they need to stay at the house. Our family like to take regular walks in the morning and evening so we don’t need to change our routine too much when we add a dog to the house. We have a fenced yard and three level house. We are extra tidy when dogs are around and are careful with leaving food out. We once had a dog eat a brick of butter from the counter…let’s say we learned our lesson!
“Ellie was wonderful, we felt very comfortable with her looking after our heeler. Lots of walks and hang out time, reliable and great communication. Will use Ellie again!”

“Thank you, Lorna! I appreciate your flexibility with a last minute booking and dropping in to see my cats. You were very communicative and easy to schedule with! I will be happy to book you again :)”

“Anya was fantastic! She was so wonderful with my two kitties. They can be shy when they first meet someone but she was able to win them over. She sent great photos, was prompt with her visits and always sent me updates on the kitties. I would be very happy to have her look after Olive and Mabel again! 😊”

“Kristie was wonderful with our cats. They were comfortable with her right from the first meeting. Kristie responded quickly to messages and questions and sent updates and photos with each visit.”

About: I have been a dog owner since the time I was born. My dogs have always been my dear friends, some who have needed a lot of care and special attention. After I moved out, I continued to pet-sit for my parents dash-hound until recently when he crossed over the rainbow bridge. I am experiencing pet-fever but am waiting to be a little bit more settled before adding a furry friend to my family. I am excited to share some of the love with your best friend! I am a big walker and love exploring new areas so I am keen to take your dog to their normal walk areas. I can’t wait to meet your furry friend! I takes a village to raise a family, including furry friends! This is a fun side gig for me - I get as much enjoyment being around the pets as they do having the excerise and company they need. I’ve available during the day Monday - Friday and some weekends! Happy to come 15 minutes in any direction from Collingwood. I keep my schedule updated regularly. I treat your pet and home with the utmost care and respect - the same as I would want my own home and pet to be treated. Trust and respect is incredibly important to me.

About: I am a lover of all dogs, have plenty experience dog sitting for friends and family. I am thinking about getting a dog of my own so I thought this was a great place to start and help out those in need. I find most I spend a lot of my time in the city pointing out cute pups and when I discovered this app and thought it would be a great way to combine my love for walking and dogs. I like to walk along the Harbourfront so having a little companion would make it more fun! I am available for dog walks, dog boarding and home visits. About: I have had a dog of my own for 12 years, before owning my dog I pet sat multiple animals from a young age through family and friends. I have been pet sitting through Rover since November 2018, I have watched a variety of breeds and ages with different personalities through doggy day care, at home boarding, house visits, and the occasional dog walk. Responsible for walking, feeding, potty breaks, providing medications if needed and depending on the age - maintaining the training plan.. and of course giving them all of the attention they need! I have a full time job where I work 8:30am to 5pm Monday through Friday, my early morning and evening would be dedicated to pet care. I typically like to visit the home before hand to be shown everything necessary to care for your animal in the way that they will be most comfortable with me being in their home, and to ensure their routine remains relatively the same as what they are used to. I like to provide clients with frequent updates with pictures and videos.

You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:
- Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
- House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
- Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.
Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Collingwood choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
