“We had such a great experience with Katherine. The daily updates were thoughtful and reassuring, and it was clear Quinn was happy, comfortable, and very well looked after. It made being away so much easier. I truly can’t recommend Katherine enough!”

“Heather and her husband and kids are SUPER nice, prompt and passionate about animals.. They took my girl Mea, VERY last minute and loved and cared for her for 24 hrs. She seemed very comfortable with the Heather and her family. Awesome awesome family and animal lovers. I'd give 10 stars if I could...”

“First time leaving Dexter overnight, let alone for a week. He could not have been better cared for, I am so appreciative. Jillian treated him like her own, I was a little worried he might not want to come home :). Will definitely use Jillian again if the need arises.”

“Tyson loved his stay! We appreciated being able to leave him with Susan and Brian in their home and their wonderful care while away. Great communication/pics sent. Will definitely use again. Thank you!”

“Wow! Cindy and her family cared for Madigan like she was family-- I think she misses them already! Our Maddie stayed for two weeks, and Cindy sent us lots of pics and kept us up to date with the fun they were having. Everything was perfect from our end. Highly recommended!!”

About: Our family provides pet care together, with myself and my husband, Vitaly, being fully responsible for all pets in our care. Our 11-year-old daughter is also deeply involved and passionate about animals. She has completed courses through the local Humane Society and is currently finishing a pet sitter course. She loves helping with walks, playtime, feeding, brushing, and giving animals lots of affection under our supervision. We also have another 8 year old daughter and 4 year old son. Animals are already a meaningful part of our family life, and we are planning to welcome our own dog within the next two years. In many ways, pet care has become a beautiful opportunity for us to spend time with dogs while continuing to learn and prepare as future dog owners ourselves. As a family, we enjoy learning about dog behaviour, training, and care, and even love watching Cesar Millan together. We have hands-on experience caring for a wide variety of animals. We have completed both a 10-day farm sitting stay in the summer and a 7-day stay in the winter for close friends with a hobby farm that includes two dogs, a cat, goats, chickens, and other animals. Our responsibilities included daily feeding, animal care, cleaning, outdoor chores, and even milking goats. In addition, we have experience fostering dogs in our home, providing pet care for friends and neighbours, dog walking, and drop-in visits/check-ins for bathroom breaks and companionship. One summer, we also helped a neighbour with daily noon-time puppy check-ins for six weeks while they were at work. We are a calm, caring, outdoorsy family who genuinely enjoys spending time with animals and making sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for while their owners are away. We are best suited for dogs who are comfortable around children and reasonably calm around cats. We do have a cat in the home, though she has her own quiet spaces and hiding spots where she can retreat comfortably when needed. My husband and I both work as entrepreneurs mostly from home. We do sometimes leave the house for around 2-4 hrs for different activities with our homeschooled children. Sometimes we can bring dogs with us, sometimes they need to stay at the house. Our family like to take regular walks in the morning and evening so we don’t need to change our routine too much when we add a dog to the house. We have a fenced yard and three level house. We are extra tidy when dogs are around and are careful with leaving food out. We once had a dog eat a brick of butter from the counter…let’s say we learned our lesson!
About: I have had dogs since I was 4. (Family dogs) then I have had 3 dogs that I have had with my own family. Can’t live without out one in my life. Looked after friends and other family dogs for them. Love getting out for a walk with a dog. I’m self employed and I’m working part time. So I have lots of time to take care of dogs. Being self employed I can make time to giving your dog the best care by being here for them. I have a fenced in yard. Plus love taking dogs for walks. I’m willing to do what makes the customer happy. I don’t have a dog of my own at this time. We just lost our family dog of 14yrs.
“Sara took excellent care of our energetic Airedale terrier. He had multiple walks, a clean and spacious house, and large fenced backyard. She sent us plenty of photos and updates, and we knew that our dog was very well cared for. They have 2 friendly, non-aggressive dogs that played well with our dog. I highly recommend Sara and Cody for anyone who wants exceptional care for their dog.”

“Our dog Java had the best vacation with Anne while we were on vacation! Every day Anne sent us pictures and videos of Java happily playing on her beautiful property or snuggling with the family. We were so relieved to know that Java was happy and loved. 🤎”

“Angi is such a wonderful attention to our family! She was attentive to our senior girls needs and they settled in so nicely. Angi sent us a picture overnight as well. Highly recommend Angi.”
“Aditya and Ipshita were great with my dog. They were very professional and kept be updated on his day of fun with them. They truly do love dogs and that is shown in the care they take to make sure they are well taken cared of.”

“Jessica and family treated my dog, Cooper, just like he was their own and I knew he was in good hands from the moment I met them. They sent many updates, including photos and videos. I will definitely be using their dog sitting services again and highly recommend them!”

“Melanie was amazing from start to finish. She Accommodated me with the last-booking. Video updates were given immediately and regularly throughout their stay which put me at ease and I could see immediately my pets were very comfortable in her space. I will definitely be bringing them back 🫶🏼”

“My Leo loved Dale, we are so happy that we found her. She is tiny woman you would think she would not be able keep big breed dog on walk, but she is very strong. Leo is one years old, and he is very active, Dale looked after him very well. Thank you so much Dale🤗”

“This is our 4th time using Sheila's services. Riley gets so excited each time she gets to stay. It feels like a home away from home for her. We always know Riley is loved and well cared for. No hesitation in rebooking.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Collingwood
Richard and his family were very welcoming and it seems that Ziggy had a great time at their lovely home. A plus was a fenced in back yard, where dogs can freely play without any concern. I would not hesitate to return for another overnight stay. Highly recommend this host as he obviously adores the company of dogs. Thank you, Richard!

Michelle is the most awesome dog sitter!! We just moved to Collingwood and Michelle was our pick for our 80 lb Bernedoodle, Ziggy. Ziggy loved his walks and playtime with the other dogs. Michelle handles dogs well. She is highly organized and sent some really good photos of Ziggy’s activities with her. Ziggy had a visible smile on his face for several days after his first visit with Michelle.

We have not left our little Sprout with many strangers but within 5 minutes of our meet and greet we knew she would be well looked after. Susan and Brian were so welcoming and it was evident that they would provide excellent care. They were incredible and kept us up-dated the whole time. We are so happy we found them and will not hesitate to use their services again. As for Sprout, if she could talk, she would give them a 5 star plus plus rating as she had an amazing day with them!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
