About: Animals are my passion, through and through. I have been taking care of animals for the majority of my life. I have experience with caring for a wide range of animals, cats, dogs, hamsters, bunnies, as well as a variety of farm animals (chickens, horses, and donkeys). I am comfortable with dogs of all sizes and personality types, from huge to tiny, chill to reactive. I modify my care based on individual needs. All animals are always treated with love, respect, and compassion when under my care. I am experienced with administering various medications, as well as with some first aid. I provide basic training while on walks, and will report back any behavioural issues/changes noted during their time with me. I know it’s a big decision to trust someone with the care of your pet, and I always strive to ensure my clients are at ease knowing their fur baby is in great hands with me. Weekday and weekend walks and drop in visits available within a close driving radius (anything above 20km is subject to an additional travel fee). I am available from 6am-9pm. Your fur baby will be in excellent hands with me. I treat all animals as if they were my own, they deserve nothing but love and attention! I follow the instructions for their care and always ask if I need clarification on any of the supplied information. I provided detailed reports, and note any changes to their behaviour or otherwise while in my care in the report card for each visit. I also upload several photos so you see what your pets got up to during our time together. Please know that the trust given to access a clients home is huge and is something I take it very seriously. Please be assured that the same care given to your fur babies is given to your home.

“Kari is wonderful! She took perfect care of our cat Sassy and the property. She is very down to earth, trustworthy, considerate, present and a great communicator. The house was cleaner than how we left it! Would love to have her again.”

“Jessica stayed in our home with our two cats for the week and was great at keeping us in the loop with photos and updates as we had asked. We felt totally at ease knowing she was there and were able to enjoy our vacation!”

“Sophia looked after our golden retriever and our house for 24 days while we were out of country. She did an excellent job at taking care of our dog and our house was returned to us in excellent condition. Sophia was great at communicating with us while we were away. We would recommend Sophia to anyone looking for a house/pet sitter.”

“Brooke cared for our old giant Mastiff for 4 days and we were extremely pleased with her services. It was the first time we used Rover and a very long time since we had left our dog with a sitter so we were a little anxious but Brooke has a very professional approach. She was instantly at ease with our dog and displayed a lot of common sense and attention to details. She is grounded, calm and caring. We came back to a very happy dog and a spotless house. I highly recommend Brooke as a pet sitter.”

“Abigail went above and beyond. From day 1 she kept us up to date on the goings on. I know our dog Bodhi will miss the attention she gave him 😁. I’m attentive to each pet’s unique personality and needs. I usually travel for work so on the months I’m off I have a completely wide open schedule so I can give my full attention to your pets. I believe in keeping pet parents updated with regular messages, photos, and videos so they can feel confident that their furry family members are happy and well cared for. About: Hi! I’m a lifelong animal lover with years of hands-on experience caring for both dogs and cats. Growing up, my dad was a dog trainer, so I was surrounded by dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments from a young age. This gave me a strong understanding of canine behavior and how to make dogs feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for. I’m confident handling dogs on walks, whether they’re energetic, shy, or somewhere in between. I know how important routine, patience, and positive reinforcement are, and I always make sure pets get plenty of exercise, attention, and affection. I also have experience caring for cats and understand that every pet has their own unique personality and needs. Whether your pet loves to play or prefers a quiet companion, I’m happy to provide the care they need while you’re away. I know how much pets mean to their families, and I’ll treat yours like they’re my own. My goal is to give you peace of mind knowing your furry friend is in caring, capable hands. I’m currently working part-time, which gives me plenty of flexibility and extra time to spend with your furry family members. Whether it’s long walks, playtime, cuddle sessions, or simply keeping them company, I’ll make sure your pet gets the attention, love, and care they deserve while you’re away. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine are my top priorities. In my home, I have a fully fenced backyard where dogs can safely play and get plenty of exercise under supervision. We also have two friendly, well-socialized dogs, a Maltese and a Black Lab, who love meeting and playing with other dogs and are comfortable around cats. I always introduce pets slowly and carefully to make sure everyone feels comfortable. If your pet prefers their own space or has a different routine, I’m happy to accommodate their individual needs. When caring for pets in your home, I always follow your instructions to keep your pet’s routine as consistent as possible. I’m comfortable with crating if that’s part of their routine, administering meals, going for walks, playtime, and giving them plenty of love and attention. My goal is to make your pet feel safe, happy, and well cared for, whether they’re staying with me or I’m caring for them in the comfort of their own home.

“My partner and I went away to France for a week and a half. Robyn stayed in our home to take care of our dog Hugo. She was absolutely amazing! Communicative, thoughtful, and consistent. She gave us daily updates with photos and made sure our guy received lots of love and attention. She respected the instructions we had left and went above and beyond by tidying our place before we got home. We will certainly use her services again, and we highly recommend her!”

Madison looked after Butters for 2 weeks while we travelled abroad. She was incredibly caring of our boy and treated him juat like his own! She is always super accommodating, responsive, helpful and very kind. We feel extremely lucky to have found her and will continue to use her services in the future. She also left out house spottless and very clean. It is clear that she cares a lot and we appreciate her so much!

I highly recommend trusting Richard to care for your pets. He watched my dogs for four days and was wonderful with them. I received updates at least once a day with pictures and videos. He walked them and played with them every day. I returned to very tired and happy pups. Richard also stayed in my house; it was as neat and tidy as I left it when I got home. I will absolutely be asking Richard to care for my dogs again in the future!

Dorothy is just wonderful! She is friendly, accommodating, warm and professional. Our dog took to her right away, loving all the attention and pets. I appreciated the excellent communication Dorothy provided while we were away. We have zero hesitations using her again! Thanks Dorothy!

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Collingwood maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Collingwood walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Collingwood choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 93% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
