About: Our family provides pet care together, with myself and my husband, Vitaly, being fully responsible for all pets in our care. Our 11-year-old daughter is also deeply involved and passionate about animals. She has completed courses through the local Humane Society and is currently finishing a pet sitter course. She loves helping with walks, playtime, feeding, brushing, and giving animals lots of affection under our supervision. We also have another 8 year old daughter and 4 year old son. Animals are already a meaningful part of our family life, and we are planning to welcome our own dog within the next two years. In many ways, pet care has become a beautiful opportunity for us to spend time with dogs while continuing to learn and prepare as future dog owners ourselves. As a family, we enjoy learning about dog behaviour, training, and care, and even love watching Cesar Millan together. We have hands-on experience caring for a wide variety of animals. We have completed both a 10-day farm sitting stay in the summer and a 7-day stay in the winter for close friends with a hobby farm that includes two dogs, a cat, goats, chickens, and other animals. Our responsibilities included daily feeding, animal care, cleaning, outdoor chores, and even milking goats. In addition, we have experience fostering dogs in our home, providing pet care for friends and neighbours, dog walking, and drop-in visits/check-ins for bathroom breaks and companionship. One summer, we also helped a neighbour with daily noon-time puppy check-ins for six weeks while they were at work. We are a calm, caring, outdoorsy family who genuinely enjoys spending time with animals and making sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for while their owners are away. We are best suited for dogs who are comfortable around children and reasonably calm around cats. We do have a cat in the home, though she has her own quiet spaces and hiding spots where she can retreat comfortably when needed. My husband and I both work as entrepreneurs mostly from home. We do sometimes leave the house for around 2-4 hrs for different activities with our homeschooled children. Sometimes we can bring dogs with us, sometimes they need to stay at the house. Our family like to take regular walks in the morning and evening so we don’t need to change our routine too much when we add a dog to the house. We have a fenced yard and three level house. We are extra tidy when dogs are around and are careful with leaving food out. We once had a dog eat a brick of butter from the counter…let’s say we learned our lesson!

About: I have spent most of my life around animals, and have worked with them professionally for nearly two decades. My family welcomed our first dog, a 140lb Golden Retriever, when I was just four years old. Since then, I have cared for a variety of my own companion animals, including cocker spaniels, pit bulls, mastiffs, cats, ferrets, rabbits, chinchillas, birds, lizards, and fish. My professional experience includes working at boarding facilities, veterinary clinics, pet stores and wildlife centres. I have worked with many individuals and organizations in the local animal care and veterinary community. While I enjoy working with all animals, I have a special affinity towards big dogs, oversized cats, and ducks. My schedule is quite flexible, and I work locally with a light booking load, so your beloved pets will receive my undivided attention while under my watchful care. I understand the importance of familiarity and routine for animals, which is why I offer petsitting in your home. I know first-hand how challenging it can be to leave beloved pets behind, especially when they require extra care due to their age, illness, anxiety or behavioural issues. When I stay with your pets I treat your home with upmost respect and care, and you can trust that your fur family are in good hands while you're away.

Chlsy is super kind and responsive. She got back to me very quickly and was incredibly professional. Zara was very comfortable with Chlsy even though she can sometimes take a bit too warm up to someone new. I needed someone for a last minute walk and she was fantastic! Highly recommend.

I’m currently studying to become a Veterinary Technician, which has given me strong skills in handling pets safely, administering medications, and recognizing signs of illness or discomfort. I’ve cared for dogs of all sizes, ages, and temperaments, including puppies, seniors, and anxious or reactive dogs. I always prioritize your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine, and treat them like my own. My goal is to provide dependable, attentive care so you can feel completely at ease while you’re away 🐾 I work at a veterinary clinic three days a week, which gives me great hands-on experience, and I have a flexible schedule outside of that to ensure your pets get the time, attention, and care they deserve. I take every precaution to ensure your animals are in a safe, secure environment. From understanding their specific needs and behaviors to creating a hazard-free space, I make sure they are comfortable and protected. About: I spent my childhood helping my grandparents take care of animals at their boarding kennel and have been a huge animal lover ever since. I have had several animals of my own (dogs, cat, fish, & bunny). I regularly pet sit for friends and family and have started offering pet-sitting services, locally & abroad, for the past three years. I am comfortable caring for dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, and other small animals. I treat every pet like family, making sure they’re comfortable in their own home environment while you’re away. You can count on me to provide not just the basics - food, walks, and play - but also companionship, calm presence, and genuine care. I have experience caring for senior pets who need extra patience, gentleness, and attention. I understand how to move at their pace, notice the little signs when they’re tired or uncomfortable, and keep them feeling safe and loved. I run (mostly-online) businesses that provides a lot of flexibility in my schedule, so I can work around your pet’s usual routine to keep them feeling safe and comfortable. Whether it’s morning feedings, mid-day playtime, or evening snuggles, I am adaptable and reliable. When caring for pets in your home, I treat both your animals and your space with the utmost respect. I follow your instructions closely to keep your pet’s routine consistent, whether that’s feeding, medications, walks, or playtime. Safety is always my top priority - I double-check doors, gates, and leashes, and I’m attentive to any changes in behavior or health. I want you to feel complete peace of mind knowing that your pets are safe, happy, and loved, and your home is cared for just as you left it.

About: I've cared for pets since I was seven and have always loved cats and dogs. Growing up, I regularly pet-sit for my cousins' two dogs and my neighbours' three dogs, and I loved it. I was the go-to person for walking them, feeding them, and giving them plenty of love and playtime. I still offer dog walks often and genuinely enjoy my time with them. While I have extensive experience with cats, including raising kittens, caring for seniors, and giving medication, I bring that same attentiveness and warmth to every dog I look after. Whether daily walks or overnight stays, I'm here to make your pet feel happy and cared for. I’m a freelance worker with a flexible schedule, which means I can often prioritize pet sitting on days I’m not booked for other work. This makes it easy for me to adjust my availability to fit your pet’s needs—whether for daily walks, weekend stays, or drop-ins throughout the week. I treat every pet like my own, taking time to bond with them and ensure they feel safe and loved. Whether in my home or yours, I keep the space clean and calm, always leaving things as I find them (or better!). I’m respectful of your home and mindful of your pet’s unique personality and routine.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Collingwood choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 100% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
