About: Our family provides pet care together, with myself and my husband, Vitaly, being fully responsible for all pets in our care. Our 11-year-old daughter is also deeply involved and passionate about animals. She has completed courses through the local Humane Society and is currently finishing a pet sitter course. She loves helping with walks, playtime, feeding, brushing, and giving animals lots of affection under our supervision. We also have another 8 year old daughter and 4 year old son. Animals are already a meaningful part of our family life, and we are planning to welcome our own dog within the next two years. In many ways, pet care has become a beautiful opportunity for us to spend time with dogs while continuing to learn and prepare as future dog owners ourselves. As a family, we enjoy learning about dog behaviour, training, and care, and even love watching Cesar Millan together. We have hands-on experience caring for a wide variety of animals. We have completed both a 10-day farm sitting stay in the summer and a 7-day stay in the winter for close friends with a hobby farm that includes two dogs, a cat, goats, chickens, and other animals. Our responsibilities included daily feeding, animal care, cleaning, outdoor chores, and even milking goats. In addition, we have experience fostering dogs in our home, providing pet care for friends and neighbours, dog walking, and drop-in visits/check-ins for bathroom breaks and companionship. One summer, we also helped a neighbour with daily noon-time puppy check-ins for six weeks while they were at work. We are a calm, caring, outdoorsy family who genuinely enjoys spending time with animals and making sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for while their owners are away. We are best suited for dogs who are comfortable around children and reasonably calm around cats. We do have a cat in the home, though she has her own quiet spaces and hiding spots where she can retreat comfortably when needed. My husband and I both work as entrepreneurs mostly from home. We do sometimes leave the house for around 2-4 hrs for different activities with our homeschooled children. Sometimes we can bring dogs with us, sometimes they need to stay at the house. Our family like to take regular walks in the morning and evening so we don’t need to change our routine too much when we add a dog to the house. We have a fenced yard and three level house. We are extra tidy when dogs are around and are careful with leaving food out. We once had a dog eat a brick of butter from the counter…let’s say we learned our lesson!

About: I have spent most of my life around animals, and have worked with them professionally for nearly two decades. My family welcomed our first dog, a 140lb Golden Retriever, when I was just four years old. Since then, I have cared for a variety of my own companion animals, including cocker spaniels, pit bulls, mastiffs, cats, ferrets, rabbits, chinchillas, birds, lizards, and fish. My schedule is quite flexible, and I work locally with a light booking load, so your beloved pets will receive my undivided attention while under my watchful care. About: I've been pet sitting for free my whole life. I love animals and I jump on any opportunity I get to hang out with one. I have dog sat puppies and older dogs, some with behavioral issues and many that were very easy going, from high energy dogs that want to chase a ball for hours to lazy dogs that just want to lay on the couch and get cuddles to dogs that just want to go to the dog park and wrestle with other dogs for a while. I've often gotten groups of dogs together to take them all to the dog park. I have also owned and babysat many cats. I love playing with little kittens and earlier this year I kept a senior cat company for a week near the end of her life. I even took care of a cat that liked to be walked on a leash like a dog. Other pets I've babysat for include; chickens, parrots, a boa constrictor and one pot bellied pig named Cookie, if anybody is interested in more exotic petsitting. For as long as I can remember I've always loved animals and had pets. Before I was even in school me and my brother would watch birds and squirrels and check under rocks for bugs and salamanders. It wasn't long after that that we took in our first street cat, named him Ozzy and gave him a home. After that we got a dog from a nearby farm and named him Kitoto. Soon after that it was goldfish and frogs. It wasn't long until I had mice and hamsters and my brother had snakes and lizards. We had so many pets as a kid that my Mother had a whole room dedicated to cages and terrariums. Naturally me and my brother started taking in animals from around our area; a baby robin that was abandoned, another stray cat, a baby squirrel that almost drowned in a friends pool, another cat, a young starling with a broken leg, we even incubated and hatched a some snapping turtles from their eggs after their mom laid them in the middle of a gravel road. Into my adulthood I still have taken care of many animals including, a few more barn cats, a small parrot(pineapple conure) and chickens. Animals in general and especially pets have been one of the most important things my entire life. I have always thought that as their guardians it is our job to give them the best most enriched life we can. I've extended that care to every animal I have ever met. My schedule is very adjustable. I would be happy make room for pet sitting any day of the week. It also allows me to be available for short notice care, surprises and emergencies. The safety and well being of your pet is my utmost priority. I think it is very important to communicate with the owner of a pet and learn all of their boundaries and expectations. The next most important thing is making sure they are happy, secure and treated nicely. I am happy to learn what kind games and toys they like as well as any unique things I should avoid.
