About: I've been caring for animals for 39 years. Over that time I've lived with and looked after cats, dogs, rabbits, and rats, so I'm comfortable with a wide range of pets and their different personalities and needs. My professional background includes work at animal hospitals, grooming salons, and animal rescues. That experience, along with caring for my own pets, taught me how to deliver caring, loving, and thoughtful care that is also medically aware. I'm comfortable providing medical support, administering medications, and caring for special-needs dogs. In several situations I've been able to recognize the early signs of serious medical emergencies in dogs and respond appropriately. Working in rescue also deepened my understanding of animal behaviour and stress. I know that being away from their person can be hard on pets (and on their owners), so I focus on creating a calm, reassuring environment and keeping communications clear so both of you can feel more at ease. I work full time from home with a very flexible schedule, so I'm available any time during the week for drop-ins, dog or cat hangouts at my home, or working from your home so your pets can stay in their own familiar space. I am also available weekends as well Just let me know what works for you and your pets! I currently have a pet free home. I do have crates if your pet prefers that or they can cuddle up in bed. Your dog would only be walked on a leash or put out on a very secure, strong cable as I do not have a fenced yard. In your home I would follow any rules and routines you have in place.

About: Our family provides pet care together, with myself and my husband, Vitaly, being fully responsible for all pets in our care. Our 11-year-old daughter is also deeply involved and passionate about animals. She has completed courses through the local Humane Society and is currently finishing a pet sitter course. She loves helping with walks, playtime, feeding, brushing, and giving animals lots of affection under our supervision. We also have another 8 year old daughter and 4 year old son. Animals are already a meaningful part of our family life, and we are planning to welcome our own dog within the next two years. In many ways, pet care has become a beautiful opportunity for us to spend time with dogs while continuing to learn and prepare as future dog owners ourselves. As a family, we enjoy learning about dog behaviour, training, and care, and even love watching Cesar Millan together. We have hands-on experience caring for a wide variety of animals. We have completed both a 10-day farm sitting stay in the summer and a 7-day stay in the winter for close friends with a hobby farm that includes two dogs, a cat, goats, chickens, and other animals. Our responsibilities included daily feeding, animal care, cleaning, outdoor chores, and even milking goats. In addition, we have experience fostering dogs in our home, providing pet care for friends and neighbours, dog walking, and drop-in visits/check-ins for bathroom breaks and companionship. One summer, we also helped a neighbour with daily noon-time puppy check-ins for six weeks while they were at work. We are a calm, caring, outdoorsy family who genuinely enjoys spending time with animals and making sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for while their owners are away. We are best suited for dogs who are comfortable around children and reasonably calm around cats. We do have a cat in the home, though she has her own quiet spaces and hiding spots where she can retreat comfortably when needed. My husband and I both work as entrepreneurs mostly from home. We do sometimes leave the house for around 2-4 hrs for different activities with our homeschooled children. Sometimes we can bring dogs with us, sometimes they need to stay at the house. Our family like to take regular walks in the morning and evening so we don’t need to change our routine too much when we add a dog to the house. We have a fenced yard and three level house. We are extra tidy when dogs are around and are careful with leaving food out. We once had a dog eat a brick of butter from the counter…let’s say we learned our lesson!

About: Hi! I’m Leah, a lifelong animal lover and proud dog mom to my two dogs, Winston and Dakota. I know how much trust it takes to leave your dog in someone else’s care, so my priority is making sure both you and your dog feel safe, comfortable and confident. My experience goes beyond everyday pet ownership. Growing up, I volunteered with the Oakville Humane Society, where I gained experience around animals with different personalities and needs. I also spent several years volunteering with Frontline K9 Manitoba, participating in spay/neuter and vaccination clinics, assisting with basic animal health needs, and supporting rescue and apprehension efforts. One of my greatest learning experiences has been my own dog, Dakota. Dakota is a rescue with a history of dog reactivity, which led me to invest extensively in professional training and learn as much as possible about canine behaviour, body language, triggers and safe handling. I’ve worked closely with trainers and completed multiple training programs with her, giving me hands-on experience managing and supporting a dog with more complex behavioural needs. Because of this experience, I’m comfortable reinforcing the training and routines you already have in place, including loose-leash walking, calm and structured walks, polite greetings, jumping, impulse control, basic cues and confidence building. I understand the importance of consistency and will always follow the methods, commands and boundaries you use with your dog. I’m especially understanding of reactive, anxious or sensitive dogs. I know that sometimes a successful walk means creating distance, changing routes, avoiding a trigger or simply giving a dog the time and space they need to feel safe. Every dog is different, and I’m happy to adapt my care to their personality, routine and needs. About: I’ve had a lifelong passion for caring for animals, with hands-on experience that started at just 4 years old and continues to this day. Growing up surrounded by pets, I’ve developed a deep understanding of both dogs and cats and their unique needs. I follow all instructions closely, including feeding schedules, portion sizes, walk times, and any specific care needs. I make sure pets get plenty of attention, playtime, and exercise based on their energy level and personality. For dogs, that includes walks, outdoor time, and engagement. For cats, I provide interaction, litter box cleaning, and a calm presence. I also prioritize keeping the home clean and organized—refreshing water bowls, cleaning up after pets, and making sure their space stays tidy. If needed, I can administer basic medications and keep a close eye on their health and behavior. Communication is important to me, so I provide regular updates, photos, and check-ins to give owners peace of mind while they’re away. My goal is to make pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for, just like they would with their owner.

About: Work-from-Home Dog Lover by Scenic Trails — Available all day for exercise, potty breaks, belly rubs, extra snuggles, and attentive loving care. I joined Rover because I love dogs. About: I've cared for animals since I was a kid. From early morning walks to baths and meals, I have pet-sat for neighbours, friends and family for many years. Most recently I boarded a pet pig. I'm currently working as a freelancer remotely from my home. I am available any day or time of the week and can give your pet the care and attention it deserves. I have a spacious house and tree-lined yard - so location and timing are flexible. I have a car and will come to your residence if needed.

About: I have been a vet tech for over 5 years but decided that field is no longer for me. I knew I wanted to stay in the field with animals so I became a dog trainer, walker and boarder. Dogs have always been a passion of mine! I will treat your dogs just like my own.. lots of TLC 🥰 FOR IN HOME CARE MY DOG MUST BE ABLE TO COME WITH ME I am always around to let your fur babies out to do their business. I work very locally. We will always go for walks in the morning and evening! If you require me to live-in your home, I will NEED to bring along my personal dog as well. I also have a dog of my own that is super friendly and a great teacher to other dogs. I also have cameras set up around my home for extra safety.

About: I’ve been taking care of dogs since I was little. I’ve grown up with dogs and currently have an Australian Shepherd of my own along with a cat and a bunny! My dog would love to join all of the adventures but also understands that not everybody wants to be friends! I am currently work a part time job and have a flexible schedule! I am available mornings, afternoons and nights! This includes weekends as well. I have an unfenced yard and my dog is let outside by leash. This is compensated by MANY walks in a day and lots of adventures. My home is spacious and my dog is extremely welcoming and loves to make fur friends.

About: Happy to walk a dog or two. I usually have my kids and dog in tow on walks, but am flexible if that’s not ideal. Our 12yo dog Kutsu (medium sized border collie mix from Japan) is great with other dogs and loves to run, play and explore. He mostly just keeps to himself though and avoids conflict. I am a full time mom looking for extra cash and love dogs, and so do the kids of course. The kids are so far very gentle with our dog and other dogs we’ve had here. We aren’t hosting at this time but will again soon! We're more than happy to accommodate any special needs. We are well-versed in the cone of shame, allergies, and giving medications. I used to be a nurse so learning on the job is my specialty. We believe in positive reinforcement training and have used an e-collar in the past until it wasn’t necessary anymore. Please feel free to talk to us more about how we can support you and your best friend! I am a stay at home mom so I make my own schedule and am very flexible. I am good with last-minute or planned visits. All depends on the needs of the dog. If they like to be left alone, cool. If they need meds, cool. If they need walks all day, cool. We can accomodate!
