About: When I was 10 years old, I welcomed a beautiful chocolate lab pup into my home. She was my best friend until she passed away in September of 2025. Since her passing, I have felt a void in caring for and loving dogs. I work as a Bylaw enforcement officer in the City of Ottawa and work extensively with dogs, cats, and wildlife. Through my work experience I have met and cared for hundreds of different dogs with their own unique personalities and behaviours. Considering my personal life and work experience, I think potential clients and I would mutually benefit from me caring for and looking after their dogs. I work shift work on a staggered schedule, with my primary shifts being 6am until 5pm, and 3pm until 2am. I have several weekdays off when most people work, which is opportune for me to take care of their animals when needed. As a dog owner for 13 years, I learned how to make my pet comfortable, loved, and adapted to her needs. Through my work experience, this is has been strengthened further through interacting with dogs and animals that I did not previously know. Iâm compassionate towards my love of dogs and I would love to care for and interact with more.

She was so attentive and caring we felt completely at ease leaving. Our puppy fell asleep on her lap. He wonât even do that for us!!! Would highly recommend April to anyone looking for a dog sitter. Thanks April!!â

About: I love animals and enjoy every moment with them. My dream is to be able to have a rescue as all four of my animals are from rescues. I have decreased my hours at work to be back home more due to the rising cost of gas. I have more time to take on these duties. Every situation is different. You respect the same trust and safety for every pet weather is yours or someone else's. For dogs always leashed as you never know the situation of a pet.
About: About Ricardo I have over 8 years of experience as a dog sitter, walker and Behaviorist in Mexico. Iâve had dogs since I was a child, and Iâve always had a natural ability to understand and connect with them. Over 10 years ago, when my dog Horchata joined my life, she was energetic and needed guidance. I took a diploma in Spain to learn how to help her become balanced and confident. Later, friends began asking me to care for their dogs while they travelled, and they were impressed to see how their pets improved after staying with me for a few weeks. That experience motivated me to dedicate my life to dog care, something I enjoy. I currently work as a Kennel Assistant, caring for dogs of all ages and personalities. This role gives me hands-on experience with routines, enrichment, feeding, safety, and observing behavior changes. I have availability on Tuesdays and Wednesdays to care and/or for a great walk. Although I live in an apartment, I know the value of frequent walks and I take them seriously. I stay attentive to each dogâs needs and adapt to their routine and personality. Iâm available every day and almost all the time since I work from home, which makes this the perfect activity for me. I recently left a two-year job to dedicate myself fully to pet care again. Although I live in an apartment, I know how important frequent walks are, and I take them seriously. I always stay attentive to each dogâs needs and can easily adapt to every pupâs routine and personality.
âDerek was very professional, and made us feel calm and comfortable about leaving Jango with him for a weekend in our house. He kept our high energy dog happy the entire time (even in the very cold winter)!â

About: I'm 22, I've had animals my entire existence including reptiles. I live on 4 acres of mostly fenced in yard for your babies to run around. I'm flexible on anything you need for your babies. (And I can babysit your reptiles) I currently have no job but I'm looking for a part-time so I can continue to focus on meeting all sorts of new animals that need somewhere to snooze and play. I have a mostly fenced yard, three doggos that are super friendly to everything. I have experience with vet medicine and crate training. I have LOTS of safe dog toys that need to be played with.
âEmily was very communicative and shared lots of pictures which we loved. She also took our energetic dogs for nice long walks every day and played with them outside. Our home was left clean and tidy, we would use her house sitting services again for sure.â

âAutumn was the perfect choice for our last minute dog sitting request. She knew just how to handle our two anxious dogs! They took to her right away and seemed very comfortable with her. We will definitely use her again in the future!â

âI just canât say enough amazing things about Jenna!! She took care of our two dogs so we could attend a wedding and I just couldnât be happier with how everything went!! She was quick to respond to messages, asked great questions, came to meet my dogs, was super knowledgeable, very caring and literally the list could go on!! I felt 100% great about leaving my dogs with Jenna and she also left my house absolutely perfect!! Canât say enough great things about Jenna. I will definately ask for her again!! đđžđžâ

âIt was an absolute pleasure to have MĂŠlanie house and pet sit our two pups - an Irish Doodle and a Maltese. From the time we had our initial meet and great, we felt extremely confident about leaving our house and pets in her care. She kept us up to date with wonderful pictures and reports - both of which were comforting while on our trip. Upon our return the house was perfectly clean and our dogs were so very happy. MĂŠlanie even took the time to water our plants both inside and out. Definitely a 10/10 rating for service. We were so pleased with her visit that we have already booked our future trip!â

âInci is awesome. She communicated before, during and after the visit, sent lots of pictures. My dog got lots of loving from Inci and her fiancĂŠ. My home Was left spotless. All the dishes were done and away, the linens were washed and folded. She even cleaned up what I refer to as âmessy cornerâ(that place where I just drop stuff until I have a chance to organize it). We will definitely be using Inci again. Thank you Inci.â

About: What sets me apart is my genuine love for animals and my ability to tailor to each petâs unique personality and needs. The animals care is my top priority Pet care fits seamlessly into my daily routine. Iâm able to plan my days around petsâ needs, making sure walks, feeding, playtime, and check-ins are consistent and never rushed. I enjoy building my schedule in a way that keeps pets comfortable, calm, and well cared for. I provide personalized in-home pet care, including daily walks and attentive care for both cats and dogs, ensuring they feel comfortable and loved while in my care.
About: I am the go to dog sitter for all of my extended family, and I have sat for small to large dogs. And I have mostly sat for houses with multiple dogs. I work early mornings Monday to Friday, so Iâm free during the normal working day. And full availability most weekends with advanced notice. And I can sit multiple days in a row. I can follow whatever routine you have with your pet. I can follow complex instructions, detailed feeding schedules and I have care for an elderly dog that required diabetes shots daily.
About: Iâve grown up with dogs and cats my whole life - medium and large breeds, all kinds of personalities - so pet care has always been second nature to me. Iâve solo-cared for my own pets for weeks at a time, and Iâve stepped in for friends and family for both short visits and extended stays. In high school, I took a veterinary prerequisite course and completed a co-op at a vet office, where I got hands-on experience caring for animals and learned how to administer medication in both pill and liquid form. Iâm comfortable working with pets that have allergies or need to stick to a strict feeding and bathroom schedule. My love for animals goes beyond dogs and cats - Iâve kept leopard geckos, and I grew up next to a farm where I regularly visited the retired horses just to keep them company. Iâve always been drawn to animals that need a little extra attention and care. Iâm comfortable lifting and carrying larger dogs, and I genuinely love going on walks and playing, whether thatâs in the home or out at the park. Your pet will be in experienced, loving hands. I work a standard 9â5 during the week, so I focus my sitting availability on Friday evenings and full weekends. On weekends Iâm completely free and happy to stop by for in-home visits, take your pup out for a walk, or even bring them along for a drive. I come to you â so your pet stays comfortable in their own space and never has to adjust to a new environment. Whether you need a quick check-in or someone to spend a good chunk of the day with your dog, Iâve got the time and the enthusiasm for it. During my visits Iâll make sure your pet is fed on schedule, has fresh water, gets bathroom breaks, and gets plenty of playtime and affection. Iâm happy to take them out for walks or a drive if they need more stimulation or just love being out and about. Iâll follow whatever feeding, medication, or care routine you have in place â whether thatâs managing allergies, sticking to a strict schedule, or administering medication in pill or liquid form. I treat every home with respect and every pet like theyâre my own:)

About: Ive taken care of dogs on and off for 7 years along with my own. I can administer medication, play, walk, feed and enjoy the company of a mans best friend. I do pet care every day because i have a dog and cat of my own. Im a university student and work part time. Im only in class for the morning on Tuesdays and all day on Thursdays. My work is usually only 4-6 hours in the winter and more busy in the summer. Iâm a very patient person and wont rush your furry friend(s) or force them to do anything that they dont want to in a hostile manner. I take care of their needs when they are shown to me by our friends and if they want their space or want to be close i can do either. Ill play some nice gentle music for them and check in on them regularly, maybe have a conversation with them too
âLiza and Kai were wonderful, our home was perfect and dogs were happy when we got back. Great updates throughout our trip with beautiful pictures. Can't say enough good things!â

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Arnprior
Having adopted Lucy only 3 weeks prior, it was important that my special girl be in good hands for the day. Lucy has a very sweet and gentle nature and Montana, clearly a dog lover, knew exactly how to to connect with her immediately. They became fast friends and spent a lovely day together. Montana sent me photo updates throughout the day which I greatly appreciated. Lucy was in very good hands with Montana. I recommend him without any hesitation and I will most definitely book him again as the need arises.

We were so happy to have Jacqueline come stay with our Cara. Cara can be cautious with new people but she took to Jacqueline right away. Jacqueline sent us regular updates which we really appreciated and we came home to a very happy pup who had a nice walk and playtime with Jacqueline. We would definitely have Jacqueline back again. :)

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Arnprior on Rover is $72.15 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 740 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Arnprior. Enter your postal code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Itâs helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Arnprior maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate theyâll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your petâs profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitterâs presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Arnprior walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your homeâs security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Arnprior choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sittersâs profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Roverâs commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Roverâs reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 88% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 92% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
