“So nice to have the peace of mind that our girl would be shown some love and given company and a good walk while we were a couple hours away. About: I love long walks with my dogs daily. We walk in the woods or the rail trail. Off season I love to the dogs to the beach. I am currently available any time of day to walk dogs. Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine. I schedule my day to include walks, feeding, playtime, and regular updates, making sure each pet gets dependable, consistent care. I have 2 friendly labs who love all dogs. My house is dog friendly. Dogs are allowed on the furniture and beds. I have 1 acre of land and an electric fence for my dogs.
“Took good care of the cats during drop in visits. I wasn't worried at all while I was away, because Janine sent pictures each visit. Things were well cleaned. Definitely recommend!”

About: I have a lot of patience for animals and I love entertaining them, whether that’s playing with them or going on a long walk. For the younger ones, or ones that just have more energy, I would love to run them and keep them in shape. I am super flexible this summer, aside from a few weeks of travel, so whatever works for you works for me. My main priority is going to the gym, but other than that I’m all yours! Whether it’s feeding, walking, brushing, playing, or simply snuggling, I’m always giving my full attention and affection. Also, I think mental stimulation is often overlooked in animal care so I try to incorporate fun games and activities.
“Laura was great. She cleaned some unfortunate litter box issues. Bless her. More importantly than that, though. I returned home to cats that were not stressed. This is a first for them and I’m so grateful.”

“Michael was great with our kitties (as always). The kitties were timely cared for and were also treated extra special with treats and playing at each visit. We trust Michael with our babies and will continue to seek his services in the future!”

About: I have been dog sitting since I was in middle school. Friends, family, friends of friend, and neighbors have trusted me with their furry family members. As someone who has a little pup myself, I know the care and consideration each individual animal needs and deserves. I've worked with a variety of breads, behaviors, and ages and feel equipped to ensure a safe walk, play time, or check in for your dog. Personally, I've adopted a puppy Cairn Terrier, Ruckus. I've loved training with him, creating a bond, and learning more about dog behavior. It's been a really fun journey. He's a sassy little guy. I have been off Rover for the past few years, moving around and attending Grad School. I am excited to be back to help the Essex community care for their pets. I currently work from home, full time. I have flexibility in my schedule to do walks and drop in visits for your dog. Where I can provide full and undivided attention. When I have a dog I'm looking after, I will ensure safety and fun - however that looks for your doggie. Going for a walk, playing catch in the yard, or even just laying on the couch getting some pets. Your pet will be my priority for the duration of my visit.
About: I am no stranger to the animal world. I have been active in the horse world since five years old. I have over fifteen years of hands on experience with animals of all shapes and sizes; Dogs, cats, horses, livestock, chickens and other various farm animals. I have experience training dogs and a love for working with older rescues! Taking care of the four dogs, horses, and chickens at home requires us to be up by 7 in the morning. My weekend work schedule can be quite busy during the summer seasons, and my weekly schedule tends to be constant yet unpredictable. Please feel free to ask about the scheduling details, as I am very flexible. We have spacious runs, 30 to 60 feet long, and across the road, there are hundreds of acres of trails for our animals to explore. Our mission is to keep them engaged and active, as their world is shaped by what we provide. With plenty of stimulation, we can effectively manage behavior and craft positive relationships.
“Lindsay was great!! I didn’t worry about a thing all weekend and knew that our dogs were in great hands. She updated us after every visit and sent the cutest pictures! Highly recommended!”

“Krystyna was absolutely wonderful with our two kittens! She was caring, attentive, and made sure they were happy, comfortable, and well taken care of while we were away. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were in such good hands. We really appreciated the updates and the care she gave them. We would happily recommend Krystyna to anyone looking for a trustworthy and loving pet sitter!”

“We just moved here last week and were gone over Christmas so we had to find someone reliable to take care of our cat, Pancakes, on very short notice. Laney was extremely reliable, communicative, and helped relieve an area of stress for us over this holiday season. We will definitely continue to use her for cat care and also to take care of our pup in the future.”
“Karen has done multiple visits to our home to take care of our Bernedoodle while we were at work. She is excellent and our dog loves her. She sends updates and pictures after every visit. We appreciate her help so much and we highly recommend her!”

“Sharon was fantastic! She did drop in visits for our dog Izzie and we couldn't have been happier. Sharon kept us updated with photos and text messages each visit. Sharon is clearly an animal lover and treated Izzie like one of her own. We highly recommend Sharon and we can’t wait to use her again.”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
