“David makes our dogs feel safe and loved. They run to him as soon as they see him. He followed all our specific instructions and was very conscientious. He snuggled with them and played with them. We really appreciated how positive he was about staying with Belle and Rory. We would definitely use David again!”

“Laura was so helpful with our 15 year old pup, who can be a little quirky. She handled his evening medications perfectly and made us feel completely at ease. We’re so grateful to know he was in such good hands, thank you!”

“Andrew did a great job house sitting for our 3 pups. He was very patient with our German Shepherd (she has separation anxiety), and confident that she would eventually adjust to him being there- and she did! She even slept near Andrew! Andrew sent photos daily of the pups! They were in great hands! We would feel very comfortable leaving our pups with Andrew again! Also, our house was kept very neat upon our return home.”

“Cristel is amazing! This was my first time using Rover and Cristel took great care of my two boxers. She sent photos and updates all day and you could see my dogs were happy even though I wasn’t home. Highly recommend Cristel!”

About: I’ve had pets my whole life. At least two dogs for as long as I can remember, but currently (and for quite some time) I have four dogs and two cats. I’ve helped train my pets from puppies and cared for them as senior so I have experience in every aspect of dogs’ and cats’ lives. Ive cared for a coworker’s pets in the past and I’ve worked with horses since I was 8. Animals are my life My weekdays are open, especially once I finish school in mid May. My weekends won’t be free for some time, unfortunately. I’m happy to sit at your home with your pets if wanted, especially during the summer, and I love to take them for walks (I know many good trails) and play with them I wouldn’t want to take pets to my home as it is very full of other animals and I wouldn’t want to overwhelm mine or your pets, however I am happy to care for your pets at your home and I will do whatever needed to make your pets comfortable, especially around a new person

“Elizabeth is amazing. She came on a short notice, so thank you. She was attentive and my puppy loved her. Snoop was very comfortable with her. She sent regular updates and followed Snoop’s schedule. We will definitely re-book her.”

“We had a great experience with Andrew! We felt instantly comfortable with him at the meet and greet and his personality was a perfect fit. He followed all of our instructions closely and took wonderful care of Roscoe and Loki. We came home to find the house exactly as we’d left it, and our dogs were clearly happy and well cared for. We’ll definitely be booking him again!”

About: I have been around pets since I was a child and have had my own dog for 6 years and a cat for 2.5 years now. I got my dog as a puppy, so I am more than willing to work with pets of any age. I recently finished my second masters degree and work full time in healthcare 3 days/week but can provide care before work, after work, and on my days off. Having 4 days/week off is great and allows me flexibility with my schedule. I love allowing pets to be part of the family, adventure outside often, and allow walks to be the dogs walk and not my walk.
“We are repeat customers of Diana. Our three elderly chihuahuas come with a host of unique personalities and issues, and her calm presence eases our minds when she stays with them. She is very responsive and will be in touch with you as much or little as you prefer. We greatly appreciate her time.”

“I cannot speak highly enough of Hailee. This was her first time dog sitting for us, and every single thing that could have gone wrong in our house did. Our water heater broke right before she arrived and started flooding the finished basement, the plumber that fixed the water heater accidentally left the gas off so there was no heat for 24 hours, and there was a fire down the street that caused them to turn off the power to our grid. And yet, Hailee made it all a breeze. Between coordinating with our plumber, keeping the dogs calm with the commotion in the house, and keeping us in the loop. We came home to a clean house and happy & tired dogs. You would have never known that it was a crazy week. Highly recommend if you want peace of mind & will be rebooking!”

“Erica was fantastic sitting for my cat Lily while I was on vacation. It was a last minute request due to a family illness, and it couldn’t have worked out better. Erica provided multiple daily updates/photos, and I I could tell Lily was very comfortable. I will absolutely use Erica again!”

“This was a last minute booking, and then the details changed the day before due to a member of my family being hospitalized. Wilfred rolled with the changes and adjusted when to arrive and leave my house in order to give my pup a nice intermission from being stuck at home alone. Very communicative, conscientious, and punctual, with a genuine love and care for animals. Will definitely book again when needed.”

“CeeCee stayed with my two large dogs over Thanksgiving and was wonderful! She was very accommodating with a last minute booking. The dogs loved her, and she left everything tidier than when she got there. This was the first time my dogs had a sitter, and I felt better knowing they were in good hands.”

“Bill was so wonderful with our pups! Great communication, very thorough, and ponctual. We felt completely comfortable knowing our dogs were with Bill while we were gone.”

“Ava was absolutely wonderful with our pup, Lola! She kept communication open throughout our time away and provided frequent updates, which gave us so much peace of mind. She treated Lola like she was her own, making sure she was well cared for, exercised, and loved. We felt completely comfortable leaving both our home and our pup in Ava's care. We will definitely be booking with her again for future vacations or anytime we need to be away. We highly recommend Ava to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and reliable pet sitter!”

As of August 2026, there are 1,292 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Buttzville. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Buttzville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Buttzville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Buttzville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Buttzville. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
